Suiciding for Rewards (in Changelog)
Hi all,
I would like to clarify the rules regards 'suiciding' and what CB allows or doesn't allow.
In essence, 'suiciding' is another method to transfer not only cash, but also XP, from one team to another.
As such, we would like to make it known that this breaks the 'no transfer' restriction on same IP use for seperate accounts. Any accounts sharing the same IP that use this method of play will now be subject to the usual penalties for breaking this restriction. Ranging from resets (of one or both parties) to bans.
'Suiciding' for rewards is still a valid tactic, you can still purchase these services from other players. Including but not limited too;
Purchasing losses
Purchasing another player to purposely 'gimp' their team for you
Purchasing another player to fight at the same time you do
As long as all parties involved do not share the same IP.
I hope this clarifies the situation and helps explain that you cannot transfer anything if you share the same IP as another CB account, regardless of method used to do so. But if you have any queries about these rules and restrictions, or the decisions made on 'suiciding', please feel free to post them here, or drop me a CM.
Thanks!
might as well make a wiki page for this and add it to the glossary too.

Thank you for the change!

I'm quite happy to see this.
Well well well looks like the Joel abuse of the game just might slow down a bit. If I know him , and I do, he'll just fight from his phone or work from now on and have his "Wife" fight from home.
This is a good start though thanks for the change!
This changelog isn't personal in any way, but a general clarification of the rules, so we all know where we stand.
Everyone, please don't let this thread become personal, or I'll close it and anyone with questions about the rule clarifications themselves will have to CM me.
Thanks. :)

He could just use this loop hole now to send money to his wife in exchange for "losses".
/sigh
Closed.
If you have any questions about the rules. CM me.
Updated the Wiki about 1 sided transfers on same IPs. Will continue to update it after seeking further clarification.
As has been requested, I've reopened this thread to discussion.
Fair warning. Any additional personal posts will be deleted. With potentially additional sanctions if they continue.
Ok to iterate in a different way both my earlier post and Lover's as well.
What about players living in the same house yet playing from different computers.....would this rule still be in effect for them.
Also could they get around this rule with PR Thread and Payment Plans to an abusive level?
How is that any different to now? Players in the same house are under the same transfer restrictions they've always been held under.
And what's abusive?
Paying for someone to 'gimp' thier character for you? Paying for losses? Paying for someone to fight at the same time as you?
Which are abusive, and why?
And hands up who *hasn't* done anything like that. I know I've payed to have a player unretire an old character and set them up specifically so I could wail on them with 1600 BA in wacky XP time at the start of one of my NCB runs.
I don't particularily like it, but it is what it is, and a part of the rules.

Yes I don't see any reason 100 people in the same office can't play together. Aslong as there isn't any kind of shinanigans. Shinanigans are obvious if you ever think "hey I wonder if i'm breaking a rule?" you probably are. Wldflr and Sefton played this game for years without problem and I believe Saint and his wife played (might be mistaken there). But the bottom line is stay within the rules.
Abusive as far as what is the limit if indeed there is one to begin with. For instance a player has another player in their household gimp their char indefinitely so they can primarily farm them for rewards and bonus.
Now note I'm using this as only a part of the scenario here is the rest. No deal has been declared and posted in PR. As well as no reciprocal payment in any way as in no Services Rendered, Item Swaped, USD or CBD used. In short a one way Xfer.
Now aside from this how do we define that the payments once done are even valid? As in ok we make a deal, PR it, I pay you USD face to face here's a fiver.....as in High 5.
What I am looking for here is what is the limit and if it is not good or leaves a bad taste in a lot of players mouth should we not institute a limit in conjunction with this rule? Should we have a poll to see what the limit should be or to see how other players feel about the situation?
Yeah, I don't believe one should be allowed to benefit in any way from a person in the household, especially not have their character gimped so the other person can farm them every single day, which gives them both cash and exp.

You guys (CB admin) are so looking for trouble.
Why Duke?
No one sided transfers has been in effect for a long time. This was just clarifying that suiciding is just a way to transfer CBD (and xp).
Services have also been allowed, and is there any reason to now disallow these sort of services?
As far as I'm aware, players sharing the same IP have been allowed to make 'equal' worth transfers, which would include paying for services. I will seek clarification on this, and will update my OP and the Wiki once I have it.
For instance a player has another player in their household gimp their char indefinitely so they can primarily farm them for rewards and bonus.
If this is one sided, it's an absolute no no. For the reason above.
It's currently ok for this to be a paid service though, as long as it's a transfer of equal 'worth'. As far as I'm aware.
This might be incorrect, or up for adjustment. I'll update when I have more information.
For example, paying someone who shares the same IP to forge an item for you.

Your last ex should not even be allow. same ip no interaction period that should be the rule.
^_^ Its Kitteh's time to mew in her 2 cents... ABOUT BLOODY TIME we got ourselves a nice new rule to help stop some of the abuse of the game's mechanics. ^_^ Now it can be treated as cheating in some ways. Oh and *raises her paw proudly* ^_^ I've never "Suicided" or ever payed another player my precious cbd to have them lose on purpose... =3 whats the point in making a good game easier? =P At least I'm not iterating personal points... ^_^ That goes into the "General" threads. Here, its one point of reference to a good change.
To reiterate same IP forge service in case anyone sees a problem. The pay must be at the minimum wage or higher as infringements can be calculated from the transfers log. A fair service is a fair service. Spending of funds to advantage the original family spender account would be seen as an attempt to cheat thus punishment would be in order.
Your last ex should not even be allow. same ip no interaction period that should be the rule.
Which is why I'm seeking clarification. ;)
All I could find in the old FAQs was the restriction on 1 sided transfers. Maybe that needs to be updated, or maybe 'equal' worth transfers are allowed, to encourage friends/families to play.
I have always been under the impression that "equal" worth transfers were fine.
As long as they ask an admin first and/or PR thread for community notice. Both of which avoid complications.
Don't worry about Joel & wifey's EF & 700k trans if that is what is on your mind.
