Stop crying on us!
Lost power for a bit already... but PSE&G got it back up relatively fast. We've got about 350k in the state with no hope of power until the end of the week.
Glad it doesn't actually hit us and all we're seeing is rain and some medium wind. Then again, I haven't gone out so I can't judge wind speed...

I forgot you're a Jersey boy. Invest in a canoe.
I got all kinds of cool redneck toys that love inclimate weather and other emergency situations :)

Hey I heard they evacuated Wall Street before the rest of lower Manhattan in advance of Sandy. Good thing we saved those guys being that they are the brains of our market and economy.
I haven't heard anything like that. All I heard was that downtown manhattan lost power below 39th street. Rumors can be malicious, no?

I was on the phone with a guy from Dish Network in lower Manhattan where their main office is and thats what he said. Yes a rumor but a believable one in my humble opinion. :)

advantange of being in Europe no hurricane (~'.')~
Well the subway stopped running at 7 and busses stopped at 9.
I'm of the opinion that there were idiots that didn't know that and wanted someone to blame when the power went out and they couldn't go home.
Our governor told Atlantic City to evacuate, but the mayor refused. So, he in turn refused to help until it was safe for rescue workers to get in to the city.
Freaking Insane! I wish the best for all who has to deal with the aftermath of this natural disaster.
