Wanted: New Amulet (in General)

Or something that will allow people to use two tattoos.

Rules:
You can only use one familiar and one non-familiar.
You cannot equip both tattoos to the same person

If you want use of the amulet of junction put it with your familiar.

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] September 6 2014 12:19 AM EDT

Two tattoos would be way too strong.

AdminTal Destra September 6 2014 8:38 AM EDT

no one plays this game anymore, entice some people back

change up the strategy a little and we might see some more action

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] September 6 2014 1:22 PM EDT

No one plays the game because we CAN'T change anything. Allowing two tattoos wouldn't bring people back because:

1. We can't make the change.
2. It is a bad change.

AdminTal Destra September 6 2014 2:37 PM EDT

A: it would only be too strong if you dont use it as well, and
B: what would be the point of only doing one tattoo if you have the room for a second and could?

"B: what would be the point of only doing one tattoo if you have the room for a second and could?"

Even if this change could be implemented . . .

"A: it would only be too strong if you don't use it as well"

The main problem I see with allowing two tats is that it would most probably be the death of single minion strats. This can be a major issue for those presently using a single minion strat, especially at higher levels due to the increasing cost of minions.

A single tat, multi-minion strat vs. single minion strat (with or without tat) seems far better balanced than a double tat, multi-minion strat vs. single minion strat. In other words, there would be an increase in team build variety for a decrease in team build variety. I imagine that they basically cancel each other out, which sets us back to the initial problem.

Also, there's a possible balance issue regarding the draw/stalemate probabilities, considering the massive increase in damage potential. Additional adjustments will be needed (to HP, AC, damage, etc.) to rebalance the draw/stalemate probabilities, if it's of significant concern to the devs--maybe not significant, but there would likely be concern, of course, considering both draw and stalemate conditions were already implemented.

"You can only use one familiar and one non-familiar."

Unless if you actually meant "Each team is limited to a maximum of one familiar." instead of the above, I foresee an issue with an overdemand for Amulets of Junction, and an immediate and significant dropping of the survivability chances of those presently lacking one.

This can be remedied by either the exercise of supreme generosity by older players (if they even have enough AoJs), or by an immediately significant increase in the active player population, which /could/ help revitalize the economy, and that /could/ mean more AoJs (maybe not enough, however).

Every team would be a familiar backed by an RoS, and I don't see any ToA or RoBF team beating that. Would make the game pretty stale. It may be dead, but at least the strategy side never got stale.

Xenogard [Chaotic Serenity] September 6 2014 6:39 PM EDT

^ RoS + Familiar would pretty much be the only worthwhile strat. The only thing that actually puts some sort of cap on the idea is the NW cap on characters. However when I was running Darkside with War Wizards Gift, I still had plenty of room to toss in a very large RoS with it.

Considering I was the only person capable of beating EoD's Immortals at the time, depending on our tats, if he were to have been able to do that trust me no one is taking down that character ever again.

Still possible now though, just no one has the tat and the gear needed to do it anymore. (I scattered everything to the winds)

Also, yeah we can't make changes unfortunately. Else I'd probably come back full time.

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] September 7 2014 12:11 AM EDT

Psh, double RoS! Never fear DM again ;D

AdminTal Destra September 7 2014 11:05 AM EDT

Can't double RoS is the point i was trying to make.

one familiar per team
one rune/augment per team

Eliteofdelete [Battle Royale] September 7 2014 3:57 PM EDT

Yes, but at the same time your limitations reduce the amount of possible strategies.

Since everyone would be able to use a familiar, every tattoo that doesn't benefit familiars would be way too weak. Since RoS is the only tattoo that directly boosts familiar's power at all levels (ToE could be moderately useful early levels but probably still weaker than RoS) then you end up with the case of RoS+Familiar.

Once everyone is running the same start, the game will be determined mainly about the size of your tattoos vs your opponents tattoos. Therefore the game is less about strategy and more about whose gear is higher NW.

th3Doctor [G6] September 7 2014 8:47 PM EDT

why cant any changes be made?

Adminedyit [Superheros] September 9 2014 6:04 AM EDT

the people with the ability to make changes to this game are busy with real life, and since this game doesnt make them much, if any, $$ it gets little, if any, attention.
