I was always under the impression girls were usually better suited to catching rather than throwing - that's usually a guy thing.
I doubt any girls can throw a 50lb. rock better than me. :)

Lol most girls can't even LIFT a 50 pound rock!
I can easily lift a 50lb rock. But scientifically speaking the shoulder development between boys and girls is different and on average means that boys can throw better as they tend to develop stronger shoulders which is crucial towards the action of throwing.

Like Nem said, there are physiological differences between men and women, and as a general rule of thumb men are going to be better at throwing.
