1st comment! 2nd vote!

yay

Tough choice

At least this is getting Jon's attention, which is a good thing.

-- QBRanger

Agreed

Perhaps now we shall see a change, hurrah!

Dr. Popsicle is totally talking about Trashcan! Bahahahaha

-- QBOddBird

What no cap means

No cap means that 100% of the NW counts to PR, which is the opposite of cb1.

For those who are a bit confused!

No names in particular but you know who you are.

-- QBRanger

Wow just wow.

If something is done this will clearly have a big impact on cb2...It'll be more interesting. I'm game, what about you?

-- [RX3]Cotillion

Yeah...

I messed up. I misunderstood the poll, and meant to vote for PR weighting like armor. I fail.

-- Trashcan

Like tattoos!

Well, I don't really care how big the weaps you can carry are. Just limit effectiveness, I wanna use my MH even if it's a weak one! (I worked for the thing after all)

-- Eurynome Bartleby

Nice!

"Capping weapon effectiveness like tattoos would be better"

One of my suggestions actually went somewhere.........

-- AdminNightStrike

Confused

Yeah, I voted wrong. I like the idea of no allowance. This way power of a weapon is reflected in the power rating.

-- Dark Dreky

I voted for 'like armor,' but I think I picked the wrong one. I like how the WA works, but I think it's currently too high, based on some of the battle logs posted to complain about it. So I'd really like to vote for keep the WA but lower it.

-- AvoidCXT

Voted no WA but...

Would rather there be a low cap with large PR increases for exceeding it. This way people can use bigger weapons, but they'll have to factor it in with the costly PR increase.

-- MrC

Stay the same

most of you who commented messed up on the poll... hmm... lol.

I voted for it to stay the same, because it just seems like a fine balance. make one wrong move and you mess up, it's hard for new players. :) But it gives the sense of purpose and skill. If you start out with something that looks simple, but is confusing, makes some pay more attention. But what do I know, eh? P.S. Mr.C is smart. :)

-- tscm

Third answer from the top.

All the way.

-- [T]Vestax

My thoughts on this should be known by now. I've seen a lot of people keeping quiet on this one over the past few months, or saying no no no; keep it as it is. What I don't understand is this: the current system means that you don't know what the true PR of a tank actually is.

Which in a game where people put so much stock in knowing what the numbers are seems very strange. Course, most of those people are running tanks and know they have a huge advantage because of the current system.

Now lets see if any of the suggestions get implemented. If it does this could prove to be the biggest change we've seen for a long time.

-- QBJohnnywas

I want two options :(

I wanna vote for PR weighting like Armour (not scaling on minion XP) and a Cap like Max Tattoo. ;)

-- AdminQBGentlemanLoser

1st but...

i think a sort of WA needs to be set on armor as well, just so mages and NCB have something to worry about when starting out, instead of starting with 100 mil NW in just armor....

-- smallpau1 - Go Blues

I went with nothing...

Any of these options is going to strongly hinder the original approach to this game which brought about equality for all levels. That has went though I guess... I can certainly say I miss the game I found a couple yrs. ago called Carnage Blender.

-- Zacharia Andrew Pa!n

Easy adding.

An easier way to cal. wep allowance is needed. Beyond that my mind is a flutter.

-- A Lesser AR of 15

Useless to most

Unless you have a big Character, most won't be effected by this at all. Even then, who's to say If someone has a big character that they can't make their weapons better than their WA.

-- Mikel

Easier calculation

I like it the way it is, but I guess for the growth of CB/Balance of mages vs tanks it would be good.

A formula for calculating your Weapon Allowance based on Roy7's data (this formula worked for me with only 1% error):
10^[log(MPR/0.8026)/0.4096]
This gives you the max NW of all your weapons before your PR increases.

And the reason I say that it's not fair on mages the way it is, is because I can equip a 10 mil NW ELB without any kick to my PR at only 176,635 MPR, which is going to deal way more damage than anything a mage could have.

-- Adi

"I wanna vote for PR weighting like Armour (not scaling on minion XP) and a Cap like Max Tattoo. ;)

-- QBGentlemanLoser"

Darn tootin...

-- Tezmac

Easier....

Adi, I don't care about wep allo. Newbs do. You try explaining those numbers to a refresher!

-- A Lesser AR of 15

Oh, ok. I thought that in your previous post you meant that you were having a hard time calculating your Wep. Allowance.

-- Adi

Yes and No

Cap the effectiveness so that weapons can no longer add PR, but do not change the way WA is formulated. Now by looking at their own training page (with 'fex's script) mages can see exactly how big a tank of comparable MPR's weapon effectiveness is maxed at.

Question: If weapons are cut down from their regular NW, will the NW be taken away from the + or the X, and how would that work?

-- th00p

The most logical thing would be to downgrade both x and + based on the weapons current NW distribution.

If I have 70% of my NW is in damage, then my new x would match 70% of the NW cap. If you decide you want a higher chance to hit, then you do what you have done in the past, raise the +.

-- [T]Vestax

OK so

If I'm a top 10 character and I have a 100mil NW Elb and a 100 mil nw MH, then I will need how much MPR to allow me to fully utilize them? I think the system is fine the way it is, you have to stay under your WA or you are penalized for it. There should be a penalty for having bigger gear, but not so much that you can't raise your gear up as high as you want to and not be able to fully utilize it.

-- Mikel

Mikel, how does that differ from a Tattoo? Do you think we still need the Max Tattoo Level?

-- AdminQBGentlemanLoser

Max Tattoo

GL, I don't think we should have a MTL, look what it did to the market. Tattoo's barely sell for 20% of their NW, when prior to that, they would sell for ~70% on inta rates. Now...it's almost cheaper to buy one. I do agree that there should be a Tattoo Allowance of some kind and if you go over that, then you take the PR hit, that way you have to decide what you want to do.
