I still like my really old idea, when our chat goes idle, put (AFK) next to our name in the PM box for everyone to see.

Supporter Preference

I always liked my idea of having a *supporter* preference to be able to turn it off or on. Then again...I never mentioned it
I'm with Mitt.

I'm with Max

-- [P]Mitt

Wait... I have friends?

-- DrAcO5676

Can we get a poll on something like...

Jonathan: "Will I ever fix Junction or not?"

a) maybe
b) maybe
c) maybe
d) unlikely

-- QBOddBird

what is this chat thing?

what is chat? I really don't know. can someone care to enlighten me.

-- Wizard'sFirstRule

Being notified on join is fine. The whole on leave is a pain when people have a lousy connection and jump in and out.

-- FailBoat[SG]

Its fine as is...

Sure its annoying when someone has bad connectivity to see all those in and out messages, but it'd be worse if you remove it... then you'd "never" know when someone was having bad connectivity... you'd just be sitting there thinking they were a jerk for not responding to your obnoxious post... =P I do agree a "stealth" mode would be nice, though. Choose to be seen entering and leaving chat... but whatever. =)

Preferences

What Max said, a supporter preference to enable or disable trhe joining and leaving notifications would be pretty neat : )

-- Wasp

What we need is a refresh filter, something like one join/leave message per person per 15minutes.

-- AvoidCXT

Leave them.

There are worse things in life than the "extreme annoyance of HAVING to read, individually, 15 lines of chat refreshing"...Seriously, ignore them? "Like, oh my god, my conversation is being atrociously skewered by two lines of text from an outside source! Noooo! PLEASE MAKE IT END!"

I don't get how this could be more annoying than not knowing when a player comes online. Or leaves. As if, in life, people would just pop beside me only when they first talk to me. I like being able to greet my favorite homies, and be greeted by them, when I/they join chat :)

So, I'd say either make it a preferences options, or just leave it as is.

Oh, and smallpau1's AFK idea is brilliant. Make it say (Idle) beside our names. Or (Lurk), depending on the people ;)

hi

Remove '/me leaves chat'

This poll is not very straightforward. I think most psople are for 'Keep "joined"; remove "left" ' but voted for 'Keep them; it's nice to get a notification when a friend joins ' because it only states joins and implies leaves chat.

Rmove /me leaves chat messages!!!!!!!!

-- deifeln

you just wait!

i think, if and when, we get an influx of users from fb or wherever that we are going to be seeing lots of new users constantly refreshing the whole browser window and leaving and joining chat continually. this is another reason i have been asking for a refresh this frame link or button inside the ba box on the left frame.

keep it the same

Something-th vote

i agree with max as well, but it think that when multiple people leave or multiple people join between chat messages, it should be like 'Jamba in da Juice, PainKiller and The Hatchetman have left the room, and 'Jamba in da Juice, PainKiller and The Hatchetman joined the room'

-- Jamba in da Juice

My chat client has spam disabled.... :) :) :)

-- AdminNightStrike

Lol, by "Keep 'joined'; remove 'left'" I thought you meant change from

Jonathan joined the room. Jonathan has left the room.

to

Jonathan joined the room. Jonathan has the room.

-- QBPixel Sage

I was going to vote the last one...

The title says it all!

My (AFK) idea...

Jon, would this be possible? If so, can you make a poll to get this in our chat bars (Or should i say, next to our names in the PM to: box)? Everything else with chat I'm fine with. I just thought I'd bring this up because yet again i saw someone say "So and So, are you here?" Maybe instead of it just relying on our idle chat, it could determine if were active on CB to determine whether it says (AFK) next to our names or not. Just an Idea! Hope everyone likes it.

-- smallpau1 - Go Blues

also....

i just wanted to add 1 thing, it'd be nice if chat didn't scroll all the way down to alert you that someone has joined/left the room

-- Jamba in da Juice

However.

On second thought, if you removed these messages, it relieve us of the constant refreshing that users sometimes undergo...If you just found a way to add (AFK) beside a name, like pau1 said, I think I'd be pretty good with that.

January 25th: Chat is down. Well, you did say you might remove both the joining and leaving messages...but I really didn't think this would be what you had in mind.
