Even if you don't like his post, keep in mind what it is pointing out: the premise upon which your vote is placed should be the content within the entry, not the player who enters it. This isn't a "cult of personality contest," it is about who can come up with the best entries and impress the community.

The thing is, I didn't see that entry as "witty," "wise" or otherwise. It was just a reiteration of the obvious, and no amount of saying it is going to make people read or not read the entries. It was sort of reduntant, and a perfectly good waste of space for a real, thoughtful entry.

/me wonders what happened to round one. Perhaps a poll with a description of what the heck is going on would be good. So those of us who haven't been lurking in the forums for days reading these paragraphs and picking up context clues as to what is going aren't made to feel so stupid.
