Does the existing MPR cap for clans unfairly favor new players?

The cap should be lifted and a fixed number should be used instead 45.3
The system should be revised but there should be an MPR based limit (explain your revision) 9.4
Works fine as is 22.3
The MPR cap gives Todd an unfair advantage 23.0

Fixed number of people per clan!

No! No! No!

Why have we suddenly turned our backs on the issue we all supported?
Why should new players not have an advantage? They are usually naive with joining clans in the first place, only a few spend all of their BA each day and they also are vulnerable to having a low net score even with a high raw score.
If it really must be done, increase the current MPR limits by a couple of percent. Currently we still have an issue of dominance which would only become worse should it change to a member cap where all the top players join the same few clans.

Nope

I see the top 5 characters forming one super clan, no one is able to get to number 1 beside that clan.

No its fine as it is.

no offense most top players have decided on the clan they are already going to be in and all will tell u they plan on staying in the clans they are in now. Its only to allow past clan memebers to change characters or bring new ones in i reckon this fear of an uber clan is unwarranted and plain scare mongering

whether it would happen immediately or not, if the system makes it possible then that is the problem. with that being said though, our current system allowed it to happen as well.

perhaps we need a fixed number in clans, but then have a clan admin whose purpose is to break up clans that form with too many unbeatable members? that way the ones in that situation would be punished, but not everyone if it ever does occur again.

i would say that a clan of top dogs is not a problem, but a clan of top dogs only beatable by other clan members is. some of the recent changes in the game likely make this harder to achieve anyways.

Being too kind

If top players are going to bunch together then they should have to stay with the characters they have. I've had to change clans a few times due to pr limits and I just get on with it.
Stop whining and put up with a perfectly good system that you don't like because someone decided to buy a character.

The system isn't perfectly good, the term used is still PR for starters. The number it displays is often wrong, and even when you're far under the number you still often are unable to join the clan. It's imperfect in accomplishing it's intended goals.

I understand your opinion that the current systems bend towards favoring new clans and players is a positive. I don't, I think that making long time clans with long time players second class is lame. I want an even playing field.

The JW dilemma

I've never really taken clans too seriously, been in a few solo clans but being in a good group clan adds a dimension of fun to fighting.

However where the current system lets somebody like me down is that right now, (unless a few large players leave a clan that's heavily populated or I start a solo clan) I'm simply too big for most clans. And I'm only sitting at 2.9 mill MPR.

With regards to the possibility of too many powerful teams grouped in one clan, well that's a possibility no matter what system is in place - unless you make that some kind of ruling against it. Which isn't a good idea.

I was thinking that a fixed number cap give Todd an unfair advantage, so I picked the closest one. :P Never knew Todd personally, but I just know that this would give him the advantage. :P

Keep it

Keep the current system, or revise it. Clans work great as they are now. You have all these ancient clans that have bonuses week in and week out, so you know, contrary to what some would say, that older players in established clans are doing fine. I can understand that people want their large MPR friend in their clan. It's painful but you have to either make room or make a new clan, problem solved. Overall, the system works fine.

My fellow Carnaginians

This is an extraordinary period for CB's clan structure. Our entire clan structure is in danger. The danger is clear. This plan would require a complete rework and removal of the checks and balances in place with our current capping system. We must take care of this now, because the risk of not acting could be far worse. People leaving your clan, thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of BA could be spent by those in clans that aren't yours, simply because they don't fit. Without immediate action by Jonathan, CB could slip into a world where clans were even more necessitous than before, but nobody could fit into yours to be able to help.

And may God bless you, to bless the Blender.

Just figured I'd roll off of AA's "fear-mongering" comment ^_^ used Bush speeches in '03 and '08 for inspiration :P

The argument that all the top 5 would unite and own the clan title all the time is weak. There are several clans with no top 5 or even 10 players in them who hold the number 1 slot all the time. The real danger would be at the opposite end of the spectrum with serious NUB's teaming up! The shear volume of fights they could produce would out strip any of the existing clans.

Clans

They are flawed as is, so without fixing the fact that there is a large dead-zone in clan ranks it doesn't matter. It would be great if there was a way of moderating clans so that all the really active players who had tons of points were not all in the same clan all the time, so that it was impossible to unseat them.
