TBF: renamed to RBF. Removed evasion bonus. Added aura effect of 25%. Flame damage done is roughly halved, but done with every blow instead of once per round per attacker.
ToE: Decreased effect on equipping minion to pre-September levels; increased aura effect to more than half of "main" effect.
TJK: renamed to JKF.
those new JKF have a name of there own?

Spiffy, nice =D. I'm liking my TOE more now!
RBF: Hmmm... you've successfuly killed it's main use (UC tank)... well, it's only use. But you may have just made it worth using on mage teams. I guess only time will tell on that one.
ToE: It's an interesting change, I'll give it that.
JKF: Huge change there, will clearly turn the world of CB on it's head.
I have to say though, the RBF/ToE will be very interesting to see how they work out over the next few months.

Good change Jon. Between this and the Evasion change I think you just took care of two items on my wish list in just one day.

Just as a quick added note, I was hoping we could get some more consistency with the "tattoo" naming scheme. Maybe everything with an aura effect could be runes and those "tattoos" that only affect the minion wearing it could be called tattoos.
The only real change that would involve is renaming the RoE as ToE and the ToE as RoE. Sure it would be confusing at first, but I think its a better way to name tattoos and runes.

TBF, RBF, ToE, TJK, JKF.... JFK, LBJ, and FDR!
Curse you Jon, for making me read the glossary! You know my reading skills are substandard. ;)

Now we need a way to change the familiar's name.
Not sure Kano-san fits in with my theme.

It is also very confusing to see Kano-san hit Kano-san when fighting someone else with a JKF.
BTW you need to add JKF to the spell checker.

Is the TBF/RBF active? Since when I attack someone with it, in melee, there is no flame damage to me.

fixed RBF
RBF still seems to be broken. I'm not receiving any backlash attacking a char with one equipped.

seems to taken from my list rather than added....oh well we'll see how it balances out

Well, one thing is certain, ToE teams will become much more prominent now. There are quite a few ToE teams that I lose to now on my fightlist, whereas before the change I beat them easily. If we are going to make the ToE so powerful in regards to affecting all minions, shouldn't the ToA get a small aura affect as well?

The RBF is still not giving fire damage.

Drat. People were always whining about the TBF because they didn't know its power lay in its + to evasion allowing it to counter the ToA, with the damage return being secondary or tertiary. TBF + small dex allowed you to dodge mage-killing tank squads. For me, this change is a big nerf.
Unfortunately, when idiots whine long enough, Jon sometimes listens. :)

Maybe it was the TOE that wasn't strong enough in the first place? Of course, I could be a bit biased, but that is my honest opinion. Its "main" effect is lowered, but having a stronger aura makes that tattoo seem more worthwhile.
As for Matrim losing some people on the fight list, that's a natural thing that will happen when Jon makes changes. When he had that mage nerf not too long ago, I lost a few people from my fight list as well.

Nice! Great TBF change, kind of. I've been asking for the aura effect for months, but losing the evasion bonus sucks.

Most people (Wuss?) were identifying SMTOE as a plague upon the game. The ToE change is a response to that problem. While some big-pile teams with ToE will now do better, I'm sure this change would have really hurt characters like my old one.
Does the RBF aura cover both the firery damage splash and the fire damage protection, or just one of these?

How I see the ToE change is that overall reduction of damage is higher then before the change when you play 4 minion teams, but I have a feeling that ToE is more effective with 1-3 minion strategies than with 4 minion strategies.
I hope your right wonderpuff I started a ncb charector with a toe not to long ago. It is a single minion team.
sorry about that I meant to say peter not wonderpuff.
After running a 3 minion ToE team previous to my current character I thought the ToE was already pretty good in correctly set up multiple minion teams.

fixed RBF better
Sorry Jon but RBF still appears to be broken. Not receiving any flame damage from Unica's char when I attack him.

it's definitely working in the cases I can see
When I fight the 2 top RBF chars I'm not seeing any flame damage. If you want to borrow my char and test it yourself you are more than welcome too.

one question about RBF backlash if I have a RBF and GA do i get two retaliation hits or just one ?
AdminShade
January 2 2006 10:04 AM EST
RBF and GA work differently, so you'd get 2 backlashes.
[T]Vestax
January 2 2006 11:47 AM EST
RoBF should be a somewhat fixed amount of backlash. While GA does damage based on how much damage you take in that hit. GA's damage is also capped by how powerful your GA is after DM.
GA therefore requires that you get hurt. It kind of makes you want to invest in meat shields or lots of AS. However, the RoBF is much nicer for minions that don't take damage but instead take a lot of hits, aka walls. Like I have said I like this new set up much more since making a minion that could survive hits and wear a ToBF was near impossible since the ToBF had no AC. The aura effect fixes this.
wow, liberache would be proud.
Not that it matters much, but when you 'mouse over' the RBF in the stats / items / overview it still has the old description .. the one that says it grants evasion ... can this be fixed? There may be more errors besides the RBF and I know it could be confusing to newbies ...:)
