details, table and extended statistics will follow during my afternoon tomorrow :)

Bolfen March 7 2005 12:28 AM EST

uh...how about going for the 6 more votes to get the Cloak of Istari!!!

Just need 6 more!

Undertow March 7 2005 12:33 AM EST

5 more on the CoI

KingMeng March 7 2005 12:54 AM EST

It's done. :)

AdminShade March 7 2005 6:28 AM EST

indeed the CoI also needed a few votes but that certainly wasn't a problem,

now on for that Adamantite Cuirass!!!

more info when i'm home again

AdminShade March 7 2005 1:57 PM EST

first some statistics from week 9:

Votes for unspawned items: 262 (228 in week 8)
Votes used for spawned items last week: 189
total placed votes last week: 223

Items spawned and (estimated) worth:

An Executioner's Sword [82x1] (+0) $341,775
A Katana [74x1] (+0) $315,000
A Compound Bow [5x1] (+0) $36,750
A Mithril Chain Mail [28] $567,236
A Tattoo of Endurance lvl 20 $2,100,001

total estimated market value: $3,360,762 (values in parentheses are current bids) ($5,080,325 in week 8)

current amount of placed 'wasted' votes: 48 which is 21,5% of total votes : (last week is uncertain)

(this stat has been replaced with a total % of wasted votes for that week and includes votes for some spawned items, also)

What we vote for and why we vote for those items:

Cloak of the Istari (only needs a few votes)
Adamantite Cuirass,
Tulkas' Gauntlets,
Chain Mail Leggings.

after this week (week 11) we will try to get some more tank weapons for a change (if all goes well)

now the table:

Green=good votes,
Red=bad votes,
Yellow votes are for items to look out for, these have votes that could be wasted effords.

Green items are goals, Yellow items are backup (for when other goals have been met)

Conclusion:

We are on the right track, getting less and less % of wasted votes :) but please stop voting for Compound Bow... :S

Mountain Man March 7 2005 2:08 PM EST

this is just question i'm throwing in: has anyone thought of buying the wasted votes to insure that the item they want spawns? If someone offers say $100-$500 for the votes of low pr users who have no chance of competing in the auctions,it may be possible to spawn an item and have little to no competition.

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] March 7 2005 2:12 PM EST

Problem: How do you know for a fact that the vote you buy is the vote cast?

Mountain Man March 7 2005 2:25 PM EST

I guess you wouldn't know for sure. it would be a small price to pay if the item did spawn. I just had the thought. Someone could put some more thought to it and make a buck or two.

Bolfen March 7 2005 3:17 PM EST

I don't think we're ever going to wean people off of compound bows and katanas until the demand for such items is fulfilled.

Bubo [DTC of Bubo] March 7 2005 3:27 PM EST

" Problem: How do you know for a fact that the vote you buy is the vote cast?"

Contact the excess vote with an offer for the vote. Negotiate, and settle for a fee for the vote. Have the seller make the vote (an escrow can be used if there is a trust issue). Unless it is the last vote to spawn an item, all you have to do is click on the number of votes already cast in the black market screen to see who has voted on an item, with a convenient date/time stamp. Once the buyer confirms the vote, transfer the fee to the seller.

AdminShade March 7 2005 3:28 PM EST

also to be sure, pay afterwards and you can check who voted for which item by clicking on the number of votes for an item.

AdminShade March 7 2005 3:30 PM EST

and bolfen: we have almost 300 compound bows and there are already 8 of them in auctions atm.

shouldnt you say that market is already saturated pretty much???

Barron [CB2BANK Investors Club] March 7 2005 3:36 PM EST

Excellent! So there is a way to confirm the bought vote. CB2BANK may be interested in purchasing votes. Shade, with your current excellent organization of the BM guide, we may be able to make it work even better!

maulaxe March 7 2005 8:21 PM EST

but the unused votes are obviously the fault of lazy/uncaring voters... so you would have to make it easy and convenient for these people to sell, because they are lazy to begin with.

anyone see any resemblance to the US voter turn-out?

AdminShade March 8 2005 3:57 PM EST

lazy people can be made un-lazy with some money
uncaring people can be made caring for some money

the biggest problem is people that just don't want to help at all..

anyway:

Adamantite Cuirass 18
Pair of Tulkas' Gauntlets 16

both need a substantial amount of votes but it looks like no one has voted yet...

{CB1ate}aupStar March 10 2005 6:51 AM EST

just voted for the tulks...^_^

AdminShade March 10 2005 8:02 AM EST

Adamantite Cuirass 20
Cloak of Balrog Flame 43
Pair of Displacement Boots 23
Pair of Tulkas' Gauntlets 19

sigh, people wanted tank armor but people vote for CoBF and DB ...

we need more people that vote!!!

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] March 10 2005 8:06 AM EST

I follow the BMVG becuase I agree with it. But if people start offering to buy votes, I might just lapse in my voting until I'm asked to sell my vote...

;)

madmax3 March 10 2005 9:06 AM EST

voted tulk's.

Reebok March 10 2005 1:17 PM EST

I tried selling my vote before, there were no takers. Now I just vote for whatever Shade tells me, as I never win any BM auctions anyway.

GnuUzir March 10 2005 2:13 PM EST

I won a BM Auction once...(CB1 Morg) and always followed the guide (before and after) mostly because if people are bidding on something I voted for and don't want it takes away from the potential bidding pool on other items I do want :)

AdminShade March 13 2005 6:30 PM EST

Week 11 post will come tomorrow:

Adamantite Cuirass
Tulkas' Gauntlets
Chain Mail Leggings

AGAIN yes, trying to fill the gaps now :)

chernobyl March 14 2005 1:24 AM EST

As a semi-low PR char, I would be very interested in selling my votes since I hardly need them. $500-$1000 seems fair for a weekly vote, but I figure it's an open market.
I currently have not voted this week; if someone wants my vote, let me know!

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] March 14 2005 9:12 AM EST

Only 32ish more votes needed on the Adam!

Special J March 14 2005 10:23 AM EST

voted for the adam
