Blacksmith Addition (in General)

Relic June 23 2005 1:38 PM EDT

If you are adding Networth to your character which will change your PR, the Blacksmith should not only show you how much the upgrade(s) cost, but also, the change in PR that will occur from the proposed upgrade(s). That way you can make an informed decision and not apply the "Stupid is as Stupid does" philosophy.

That's not a bad idea. I suppose the new total PR could go down next to the cost of the upgrades ordered.

An excellent idea!

If we are keeping the NW/PR link as is then this is possibly the best suggestion I've seen in connection with it. =)

Manta June 23 2005 2:04 PM EDT

I agree.

[EG] Almuric June 23 2005 2:05 PM EDT

I like it.

QBRanger June 23 2005 2:24 PM EDT

I disagree for the following reason.

When I add my +51 DB's to my main character it adds only 33k to my character.

But.. When I add it to my 5k MPR character it addds a whopping 64k.

I realize having a tattoo changes things but if the addition is to be different, then its not that useful.

Ranger, you have a point but:

going from 100k NW to 200k NW has a much larger impact than going from 1 mil NW to 1.1 mil NW

when you equip all your items to your 5k mpr character your DBs +51 also only adds 33k IPR...

I don't see how it hurts to have a little more info so that more intelligent decisions can be made. If your worried that your low PR char will give bad predictions then you just go to the blacksmith and check the items PR increase as it would be on the minion that's using it, then switch it to the low char for smithing once your curiosity is satisfied.

QBsutekh137 June 23 2005 2:56 PM EDT

Yes, the blacksmith will know what character the weapon/armor is currently on, and will be able to show PR increase for that specific scenario. As GPV says, what can it hurt to have a little extra info?

And this would be the only good reason I've ever seen to have to have an item equiped to blacksmith it. It would need it equiped to show the change in PR.

Awesomely Ideaness!

Undertow June 24 2005 11:47 AM EDT

Ranger, when are you gonna put your DB's on your 5k MPR character..... and then blacksmith them?

csraven June 24 2005 11:56 AM EDT

Wow, I like the idea. I think thats the best suggestion I've heard all month. It could certainly come in handy, especially for peopel starting new characters. I mean, I just rescently learned about how hard it can be to level up a new character, when the good equipment I give him sends his PR through the roof.

Synco June 26 2005 1:58 PM EDT

Awesome idea! =)
