Idea about clan fighting.. (in General)

Wouldn't it be cool if clans got more of a bonus... Say a certain amount per week in cash to the clan leader depending on the overall position of the clan in that week. That way "wages" can be paid out to clan members depending on how many points they get etc etc. That would make clans so much more interesting, there would be "buying" and "selling" of players and an overall much higher interest and communication in the community. It would be run just like say, a football club. Wages don't have to be paid out to the members, but its up to the clan leader. This will give clan fighting more of an edge because at present, earning loads of clan points negates money due to the cost of BA, and as there is more BA, there is more of a loss.

Well thats my idea, i think it would be really fun to see, also, it will make more of an interesting role for the clan leader.

Or have it like a pool of money. That is every clan contributes lets says 100k to a pool. At the end of the week the top clan in standings gets 70%, the 2nd clan will get 20% and the 3rd gets 10%.

A handicap rather then a bonus makes more sense. This is done all the time in leagues. The main reason why is because it rewards overall improvement rather then overall skill and power. If a clan has doubled their cp in one week while another has improved only 5%, then the improving clan should get some credit. Rather then just feel disappointed that their extra effort got them nowhere.

Granted there is a handicap already by scaling PR inversely with score, but it still in no way rewards improvement, just efficiency.

This of course might require a more restrictive process for leaving one clan and joining another. Say by extending the time it takes to quit and rejoin or by delaying the effects of joining just as it is worked out with economic clans.

Rethinking my idea here and I'm going to rather suggest two rewards, one for efficiency as it is set up already and another one which is much like the one suggested above that goes to most improved.

I think a lot of folks would like to see more "meat" to the clan system. Wasp's ideas are pretty innovative but naturally difficult to implement "physically" within the game. I think it would be pretty hard to make the clans more fun without a major overhaul but it would probably be worth it in the long run in member retention.
I agree with the ideas Gun Proof as well; I've seen something similar to this suggested before. I really like the idea of paying the clan leader a dividend on a weekly or monthly basis that is related to the clan's overall performance, relative to its history and other clans' performance. The cost of founding a clan would probably have to go up to balance the effect.
If just one clan starts recruiting under the "wages" model, it's likely to become a popular idea. Let's see what happens.

Our clan already has a monthly competition, where the top contributor gets a (small) reward. What stops your clan from doing the same?

I like that Idea, Initially when I wanted to join a clan I had the idea that I wanted to be a Mercenary and get paid by that clan in a scale based on my earnings of xx Clan Points for the week. It didn't have to be a big amount, just something to reward you for all your hard work.

So yes, I like that Idea :)

bartj, if the clan leader is paying out money to the top clan point getting, then he would lose money. Whats the point in having the clan? If every clan, say, had a base earning of like 10k each week that gets given to the clan leader for his use, then he can do what he wants for it, be it to pay some sort of wages, or whatnot. Then the better a clan does, the higher the amount gets paid to it. If a clan was say ranked 15th for one week, and ranked 2nd the next week, its bonus would be considerable better then a clan ranked 15th going to rank 13th. See what im getting it? Money generated from this can in-time, maybe pay off some of the money spent from buying BA, and it would just be more fun!? I mean, if i was making 30k points a week, and someone offered me wages of like 100k a week to fight in their clan then that would be cool (example only.. not quitting my clan, well, maybe for 115k : ) ). I just think the whole idea would make clan fighting so much more interesting, rather then spending out loads of money, in order to get a small bonus to your exp. And at the end of the day, who knows, you might be able to "purchase" Ranger and get him to fight for your clan? That'll be funny.

Everyone is paying a small amount (#2 pays 5k, #3 10k and so on) to our #1 mvp for the month, as a reward for the effort. It's not something that will make you rich, but more a way of saying thank you for buying all that BA ;)

Yeah, so like i said, you join a clan to get extra bonuses, and you end up paying out more cash then what you actually get back!!! Eitherway, the whole wages and extra bonus thing is not to just get more money, its the effect of creating more to do in clanning and making more of a strat behind it. Will make the whole experience of clanning more fun!
