stupid newb, your opinion doesn't count till 100k pr! (in General)

Undertow June 30 2005 4:07 AM EDT

That subject probably caught your attention. ;)

This was kind of a rule on CB1. It was like "You've got an opinion? Not until one month or 100k pr you don't! Till then you strap in and shut up."

What happened to that? I mean, I know it's not as easy with CB2 to set a pr, especially straight out the gate, no one knew who anyone else was (I didn't know Chet was Sutekh till March, I thought he was a know it all newb) and a lot of newbs got folded in with vets and it was crazy.

But, I digress. At some point we gave new players a wider berth and louder say. I say we take that back.

AdminShade June 30 2005 4:09 AM EDT

CB1 PR = CB2 MPR...

Undertow June 30 2005 4:10 AM EDT

I know that much, I hope that was for clairification.

[T]Vestax June 30 2005 4:18 AM EDT

How about someone like Mikel how could have 100k MPR if he trained up, but alas does not and hasn't been here much longer then a week. Can he speak up in you opinion, or is being near 500k score not good enough for you.

Undertow June 30 2005 4:25 AM EDT

That's easy, it's not good enough for me. And it's not just me.

See, in CB1, everyone was like this. It doesn't matter what you were suggesting the response was "wait till your 100k pr before you suggest something."

Not because you've accomplished something, but because by then you should have a better grasp not on how the game works, but WHY it works that way.

It's not like I'm the bad guy here, I'm just bringing up something that was as customery as training.

Undertow June 30 2005 4:31 AM EDT

And remember, this was before the newb bonus. Getting to 100k (m)pr did take about a month. And the less it took, the more intelligent you were, so it all leveled out.

AdminShade June 30 2005 4:36 AM EDT

lol

why not give everyone the chance for an opinion, and think yourself if its a good one or not?

Undertow June 30 2005 4:37 AM EDT

Because, then you have to waft through a sea of retardation.

AdminShade June 30 2005 4:40 AM EDT

not at all, you would just have to look very good for signs of intelligence :P

QBRanger June 30 2005 7:56 AM EDT

This is the kind of post that really upsets me. Were trying to add people to CB not scare them away. This is CB2 not CB1.

Its posts like that that make me embarrassed to be Quarter Blender.

Everyone should be able to speak their opinion, new and old alike. If you don't like their opinion guess what---DONT LISTEN TO THEM.
Not a tough concept. Don't read their posts and /ignore them in chat.

Some of the new players are actually quite intelligent and have good opinions.

If you don't like new players speaking their mind, go back to cb1 and troll there.

sssimmo June 30 2005 8:02 AM EDT

"hear" "hear"

I am no newbie. I have been around for over a year and people are still ignoring me!! HA!!!

>::sssimmo's ranting falls on deaf ears::<

AdminShade June 30 2005 8:03 AM EDT

that was my point, only a bit sarcastic and decryptive...

AdminG Beee June 30 2005 8:11 AM EDT

"Because, then you have to waft through a sea of retardation."

Of course, a forum ban for UndertowSacraficesBabies would also cause a significant reduction.

QBJohnnywas June 30 2005 8:23 AM EDT

If we go by CB1 standards I was still a newb after 6 months. Which makes us all newbs. Which means we are all talking rubbish........

Will [Retired] June 30 2005 8:27 AM EDT

Now that ^^ sounds more like it ;)

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] June 30 2005 8:34 AM EDT

I am absolutely loving this post.

I have been playing CB since October 2002 but because I haven't got 100k MPR here I shouldn't have an opinion about anything?

I am more of a veteran than you will ever be Tow but because you have played more often and gained 100k MPR you should have more of an opinion than I?

If your recent posts of "BURN THE ........" are anything to go by I would rather a player who is 1 day old with 500 pr post opinions regardless of how stupid they seem because at least a lot of the time they seem to at least be trying even if they haven't bothered reading the FAQ's.

VaginalFingering June 30 2005 8:35 AM EDT

Haha lol stupid newb, hahaha

BrandonLP June 30 2005 8:46 AM EDT

<sarcasm>
Yeah, down with free speech and thinking. Burn them and whatever such nonsense I'm supposed to shout.
</sarcasm>

SaintMichael June 30 2005 9:10 AM EDT

Come on, what do you expect they are noobs! Every single one of us, I know I did, bragged in chat about reaching 2k pr and owning them all. Expect nothing less of them they are the next generation of players teach them, don't shut them up.

NSFY June 30 2005 9:16 AM EDT

Undertow is right - the true test for n00bness and retardation should be whether the person can spell sacrifice.

Nameless evil June 30 2005 9:21 AM EDT

"stupid newb, your opinion doesn't count till 100k pr!"
Yeah, but some newbs are not stupid, some of them could burn your opinion with fireball from their brains. I'm not one of them, I'm a stupid newb.

<offtopic>Newb is here so don't listen to what I say, just ignore me...</offtopic>

Synco June 30 2005 9:47 AM EDT

BURN THE NOOB!!!

tWIsTEd June 30 2005 11:17 AM EDT

am i a noob?

Manta June 30 2005 11:19 AM EDT

I would like the idea if the cap was 1 year or 1mil MPR.

Undertow June 30 2005 5:51 PM EDT

Alright.

First of all, to all those "I haven't hit 100k mpr yet, am I a newb."

Read. 100k mpr or one month.

Other than that, I apoligize for bringing up the subject, move along, move along. Thread closed.
