What could be better to get home from going out... (in Off-topic)

AdminShade July 3 2005 8:55 PM EDT

and after drinking 1.5 liters of special beer, having 2 burger sandwiches (hamburger but home made and 1000% more yummy) waiting for you to be eaten?

(and yes they are hot! (just warmed the meat part up :) )

I don't know anything better than that... besides a good bed :)

AdminShade July 3 2005 8:59 PM EDT

And for those who care:

Yes I am hungry.
No I didn't drink too much, otherwise I wouldn't post or be able to.
Yes I drank enough to be tipsy.
Yes I am feeling to be in quite a silly mood.

QBsutekh137 July 3 2005 9:48 PM EDT

GOD BLESS YOU!

/me is tipsy too, and could use a burger! *smile*

BrandonLP July 3 2005 9:52 PM EDT

I've got you beat, Shade. ;) There's a Papa Murphy's Chicago Style pizza in my fridge.

AdminJonathan July 3 2005 9:52 PM EDT

mmm

burgers

QBsutekh137 July 3 2005 10:00 PM EDT

I got you beat, Brandon, Blackthorn pizza pub is down the street, and even though I am in St. Louis, it puts all Chicago pizzas, deep dish or otherwise, to utter shame.

Course, I am too lazy to walk, and any tipsy means no driving, so I will put a variation on Jon's post:

Mmmmm. Red Baron frozen pizza!

InebriatedArsonist July 3 2005 10:06 PM EDT

I'd rather end up at a diner for coffee and breakfast, but that's me.

wldflr July 3 2005 10:12 PM EDT

/me invites Chet over for some Papa John's Chicken Alfredo pizza with her and Sefton :)

[EG] Almuric July 3 2005 11:05 PM EDT

We did steamed shrimp today. From here.

Tomorrow, it'll be burgers and hot dogs. I like to put chopped up onions and jalapenos in my burgers before I grill them. Anyone else got any special burger recipes?

BrandonLP July 3 2005 11:13 PM EDT

Onions are good but I love a dash of garlic and some Lipton's french onion mix.

DonMega July 3 2005 11:22 PM EDT

kubobs, mmmm thats for me........

QBsutekh137 July 3 2005 11:53 PM EDT

Onions and garlic, YES.

Jalapenos, NO!

wldflr and Sefton, YES! *smile* But why don't you come on into the city for Blackthorn? I assure you it is going to beat Papa John's. *grin*

Chargerz-Back July 3 2005 11:57 PM EDT

/me kicks Chet's pizza. "Papa John's rules!"

Did Jon make the spell checker tougher or something...on misspelled word makes it a bad post..

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 4 2005 1:57 AM EDT

Ahh... Alcohol and food. My arch nemisis's! ;)

I think I'm getting old, I'm starting to prefer a nice real ale to the larger is drank since I started trying to sneak past bouncers to get into clubs underage.

There's nothing wrong with a nice pint of wifebeater (Stella's nickname) or Staropramen, especially on a hot day, but I really enjoy a London Pride or Spitfire now as well...

Homemade burger sandwiches are good. Especially if they're home made burgers (or Aberdeen Angus..) and I haven't had Pizza in years (my wife is allergic to cheeze, and we used to love having pizza's), but nothing beats a good Donner Kebab! Especially on Nan bread instead of Pitta.

I introduced an American flatmate of mine at Uni to Donner Kebabs. He was instantly hooked (Some people claim you can only eat them drunk, I disagree! ;P ) and wanted to take them back home, but was sure the FDA would shut them down instantly...

This was a few years ago, do you get Donner Kebabs, proper ones that have been left turning all day, in America?

AdminShade July 4 2005 2:37 AM EDT

MMM Döner Kebabs...

The burgers were home made also, and the only thing that would be able to beat it would be a Döner Kebab....

sssimmo July 4 2005 2:50 AM EDT

Lamb on Chapel - Souvlaki....all you Melbourne-ites know what I'm talkin about!

AdminG Beee July 4 2005 2:59 AM EDT

1.5 liters of beer and you're feeling tipsy ?!!

That's how much I usually spill down my chin on an average Saturday night out.

I got to learn to be more careful, and you've got to practice more if you're feeling tipsy after that :)

InebriatedArsonist July 4 2005 3:23 AM EDT

I was going to let that go, Beee, but since you brought it up....1.5 liters = 50.7210338 US fluid ounces, so Shade needs to work on his tolerance. Time for penalty shots, Shade.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 4 2005 3:57 AM EDT

:/ Liters?

Pints and Halves... That's the only way to drink alcohol.

And maybe Yards too...

G, You tried a Stoner Kebab? I'm sure the only place that serves them is around your way.

For those who don't know what a Stoner Kebab is - and I've yet to try one, but will! - It's a chip shop sausage, wrapped in Donner meat, battered and then deep fried.

Mmmm.... I think it contains all calories a man should have in a day!

Will [Retired] July 4 2005 4:13 AM EDT

Thats about 2 2/3 pints i think dude! Me and my student mates have been known to get through 6-7 of them before going to a club and starting on the shorts ;) It must be all the hot summer weather Shade! But nothing beats an ice-cold Nukey-Brown on a day like this though...

Gotta be runny egg and chips for me as the best hangover cure ever, loads of ketchup, looks like something has died on the plate but it sure goes down alright! :D

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 4 2005 4:21 AM EDT

Gravy.

Northern lads love gravy!

;)

Will [Retired] July 4 2005 4:38 AM EDT

oh yes

QBJohnnywas July 4 2005 4:46 AM EDT

Kebabs.... you know you've had too many nights out that have ended messily when the local (24 hour) kebab shop staff know your name.........nothing better than a kebab that's been sitting on the skewer for 24 hours.........

other than that getting back to my part of town as the sun comes up and heading for the local cafe for bacon and eggs, sausage and black pudding...

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 4 2005 4:52 AM EDT

Gahh! Black pudding!!

I can't stomach the stuff...

Then again, although I love Pie and Mash (with liquor - parsley gravy), I can't abide jellied eels!

O_O

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 4 2005 4:54 AM EDT

There was a kebab shop (I hope my wife never reads this...) in East Ham, lovely place with some seats to eat in, that a mate and I used to go to at least once a week when we're were at our old workplace.

The guy used to know what we'd have, and we'd just take a seat, he'd get it ready for us...

:)

QBJohnnywas July 4 2005 5:00 AM EDT

mmmmm. pie and mash......

Undertow July 4 2005 5:08 AM EDT

What's really funny, was that after a night out in Chicago I came back, and as I read this post, I had a Frechetta pizza cooking in the oven.

I didn't have much to drink (A couple of Ammeretto Stone Sours) but I was driving.

I had a great birthday though.

But, the only thing that could make it better, would be if I came home to a woman making the pizza for me..... so long as she didn't complain that I was out all night.

AdminShade July 4 2005 5:17 AM EDT

well some people might misinterpret the tipsy.

I looked up what the meaning would be but closest translation would be quarter drunk...

just the state that you begin to feel a tingling somewhere, not that your completely drunk... :)

Stoner Kebab, alas never heard from it...

Undertow July 4 2005 5:32 AM EDT

Tipsy:

Like the point when you get the initial buzz.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 4 2005 5:50 AM EDT

:)

On the last day of school each year, we kick the kids out at lunch time, and the staff start to celebrate with a few drinks.

Most of us then continue on to a pub.

A couple of years ago, Claire was coming to meet me after she finished work.

Well, She had to take me home that evening, and I went for a little nap while she cooked dinner.

:)

Ah the life!

;)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] July 4 2005 5:52 AM EDT

Oh, on the subject, I must thank you guys for Tony Romas! We've got one over here, and I've loved them since I tried one in Vegas.

Monday nights are all you can eat rib nights!
