He is probably still testing it out.
When it is ready he will post it in the change log.

A Runes of Enlightenment?
strange name... (A Rune or just Runes would be better imo :P)
Who wants to guess what it does?
I guess that it increases enchantments cast by minion(s).
Maybe this is related to the fact that the tats are going nuts right now?

probably/possibly a new supporter item...
/me gets $6 ready just in case
maybe a tattoo that gives some sort of protection against magic? :-p

Grant is using it now. Still no visible effect...

According to meta-stats:
Base AC0. Does not spawn in stores. Not upgradeable.
So it's almost certainly a supporter item. I'm guessing it helps spell casters.
I remember when the Cloak of Balrog Flame was being played with it was called a 'Holocaust Cloak', so this isn't necessarily the final name.
Holocaust Cloak was only changed because many players found the name offensive, though, Jon could always change the name :-P

I found Runes of Enlightenment name is very offensive to my 50 IQ. Please change it, Jon. You don't want to make idiots like me feel offended now, do you?
Enlightenment doesn't mean smart Mr.Dimwoody, it means at peace with oneself...
hehe ;P

Ummm, your sort of both wrong... (also I had no idea that beatitude was a word)
From Dictionary.com
n 1: education that results in understanding and the spread of knowledge [ant: unenlightenment] 2: (Hinduism and Buddhism) the beatitude that transcends the cycle of reincarnation; characterized by the extinction of desire and suffering and individual consciousness [syn: Nirvana] 3: a movement in the 18th century that advocated the use of reason in the reappraisal of accepted ideas and social institutions
Perhaps Jonathan is hoping the CB community will use more reason when reappraising the rules of CB2 ;)
Given the above definition, I bet it's an Enchanter Familiar of some sort.

Then why does Grant have it on a FB minion?
So what? It's a familiar casting something on a minion that shoots fireballs. Just speculation,

I fought his minion with my lower level chars and from what it looks like, it is Enlightening his Mage and making his DD spell stronger. I could be off here, but that is what it appears like to me.

i don't think its a familiar, i fought grant and didn't kill anything other than his 4 minions.
Hmm...The only spell that's not reflected in armor or items is Protection. Maybe it's a Protection Tattoo. Enlightenment makes me think of a Paladin.
Or, maybe it protects the wearer against malevolent enchantments, like AMF, DM and EC
Or maybe it requires "the use of reason in the reappraisal of accepted ideas and social institutions". It's an item to improve chat quality!

The new tattoo makes you bartjan?
No, Bast, so far the best item for improving chat quality has been the oldest one: /kick ^.~
I'm actually glad of it's incarnation. If it was an xp gaining tatto, and not inakbale (being a support item) I'd never use it.
