V B vs ELS (in General)

Okay. I recently switched my strat to a E E T M. I was wondering on my tank, would i be better off in the long run with an ELS or a V B. I have both, and i currently use the v b, and the ELS is un upgraded.

So, should i stick with the V B or go with the ELS? I know that the V B cuts through AC and all, but the ELS allows for more damage base, and upgradeability.



PS: Why isn't V B in the spellcheck O_0?

TONS of things aren't in the spell check, and I don't think Jon is going to add any anytime soon.

Grant has said, that Jon has said, that in the long run the ELS will far outweigh the VB. This is because the ELS can be upgraded a lot higher, cheaper.

No question about it. ELS is better here (other than for a few select strategies).

I disagree, when I was forging someone's VB, my ELS was used as a replacement, the damage was nowhere near comparable, due to the reduction on AC...

the biggest problem you would have with the ELS down the road would be a 300+ AC wall with a ToE on the team.<br>

but then again you have to look at the upgrade costs and see what kind of a difference you can get. a ELS of about 2.2 mil NW has the same stats as a VB with ~3.5 mil NW. just think a ELS at 6 mil NW having the same stats as a VB at 9 mil NW? which would you pick?

Actually you need to look at it the following way:

Down the line when weapons are at x100 +100 what will the NW of an ELS be at that level.

Lets say for the sake of arguement its 25 million. Now one needs to know the stat of a VB at that NW. Again for the sake of arguement lets says it is x75 +75, since a VB is harder to upgrade than the ELS.

Now will an ELS at x100 +100 do the same damage as a VB at x75 +75? With the VB's special ability to 1/2 AC/protection/endurance, no one really will know. Versus low AC mages and enchanters likely the ELS will be better, but vs heavy AC tanks and walls, who really knows.

Also, the base price of a VB is far less then that of the ELS.

I believe ELS is better in the long run, but VB as of now hurt me bad. ToE+heavy tank AC get cut up by those pesky ToA archers wielding those things.
