Pretty much everyone already knows that he scammed people by taking out loans and selling the money/items for USD.
The community was very patient (given the circumstances) but he made it quite clear that he was not interested in ever repaying the people from whom he stole.

Alas, some people never learn.
Does this mean he is banned from CB1 as well?
Just checked and indeed he has been banned on both.
He has been banned from Cb1 for a while
Did someone request this? or Jonathan just took the matter into his own hand?

How so Nexium? A ban is a ban, he no longer has an account.

He could just as easily change his IP and come back, using a different email.

I think he means we should keep a look out for his ip on another new account.

August 30 2005 11:30 AM EDT
Yes, but also to look out for anyone that comes near to doing what he did. If hr did come back it'd most likely be under a different ip and name.

folks,
People are banned from CB quite often, we catch the dupe accounts 90% of the time. This is not a first ;)

do ya think maybe everyone that he owed to should have asked for this too.?
You mean like the quietly patient ywnwraith? Nah.

If you read Jon's statement, it was not Glory's doing that Monty was banned. Glory could not have had Monty banned, only reset.
It was Jon's decision that Monty was a bane on the community and needed to be removed.
I fail to understand all the support Monty has gotten from some people when all he has done is abuse the rules and throw it in our faces (like bragging about a computer he just bought). Perhaps, if he was serious in paying off his debts, he would have used some of that money to buy some cb2 to pay the debts down. But NO, he sold cb1 and cb2 for usd.
Its amazing how good a grifter he really was that some are still fooled into defending him.

jeez finally...
note: I really have no involvement in this, so pretty much no right to an opinion, but I was getting real sick of hearing about "his huge debts" and "when's he actually going to pay?"

why don't we close this chapter in the histories of CB bans and learn from it?

I agree with Shade, let us move on.
If you feel your opinion must be heard then send it via a CM to one of us admins.

OR alternatively, make it in a good formulation without pointing fingers because that is as useless as asking Jonathan for more BA :)

Your money is simply gone, just as if he was to be reset and debts erased.
His debts are erased and so was his ability to play the game ever again. I am sorry for your loss. But you had to seriously know you would never get it anyway.

HellRazor, I am sorry to say that your money (as well as the money he owed to all the other people) is gone. You take a risk whenever you agree to a payplan or loan anyone money. This is what happens when the risk factor comes into play. If someone does not pay their debts then they are punished (reset, banned, etc.) but it is plainly evident that admins are not in the debt recovery business.

This story of Monty now it So sadly ends
A man with no power to make amends
His name lives in flames of CB lore
But his Char is banned and is no more
So get out the Tuna, the Lobster and Cheese
and learn that you cant do as you please
For in this tale a good lesson is learned
He who burns, in the end gets Burned

If a persons debt's are erased just because that person got banned/reset then why in the world is a person that dies and has a ton of debt end up in the hands on the childrens shoulders. Also known as Inherited debt if I'm not mistaken.

ones real life debt and ones cb debt...i dont think we want to start comparing the to or else we would start getting arrested for having a gang(different state laws a group of 4 or more ppl can be considered a gang and dealt with) or even worse arrested for attacking a killing someone's minions :P

Quick explination here,
Depending on the state debt does not get passed down after death,
The debt belongs to the estate, the debt must be paid prior to anyone collecting from the estate based on the last will and testement.
If the estate can not pay the full amount of the debt then it is erased.
