The Monty Fund for Repayment (in General)

Hello all,

As some people got abused by Monty and lost money, I would like to start The Monty Fund. Sort of like The Human Fund from Sienfeld but this will be real.

This is for all those who lost money to Monty. I will put 1 million cb2 in the fund. If others would like to contribute, please send the cash to my character The Monty Fund.

If you lost money to Monty, post below the exact PR post and youll be included in the fund. If you did not PR post it, sry youll be out of luck.

Now no interest will be paid but the principle will be, at least as much as money there is to go around.

If this gets chaotic, Ill do my best to sort things out as fair as possible but Ill be making the final decisions on who gets what. If we get more money than needed, refunds will be proportioned to who put in what about in the first place.

Please note this is a Player doing this and not an admin, so if you get taken for money in the future please do not expect something like this to occur.

This was all i could find, unless an admin can search my CM's or something.

I feel the need to do this since I feel I was one of the players pushing most for his banishment.

I realize that by my doing this, I cost some players cb2. This is one way I can attempt to try to get some of the cb2 back to those scammed by Monty.

Ranger, Monty had paid me 800k of the 1.5 million loan. Disregarding interest, I have only lost 700k. If any type of repayment is to be made to me, I would request that it not exceed this amount; allowing more for other creditors of Monty.

Very charitable Ranger, but the QB's brilliant light is blinding me! Seriously: job well done with getting rid of Monty, and job well done for repairing his damages.

Hmm I doubt you could take legal action over virtual money, even if it was exchanged for real USD at times. But I'm not lawyer.

Does anybody here know if that could actually happen? Now the curiosity is killing me. Killing me I say.

theres no laws concerning it in the US as far as i know

Precedents have been set in a couple countries concerning purchasing virtual goods with real money.


But those countries do not concern the laws of the hosting country of the server, so nothing can be done legal wise.

Well I do know that a lot of scammers never operate inside the united states having let's say one of those email click to get paid sites. I tried doing it last year I hated it. Majority didn't pay, all they did was collect cash from people who wanted to spread their advertisings, the workers never got payed it was all sad. Ontop of it all every one of those scammers was operating outside of united states to evade being arrested. There are a few that do pay and they got gold awards for being good bussiness sites/trustworthy stuff.

OK, so I'm a damp squid on all of this thread.

The folks detailed on this thread that got scammed by Monty aren't exactly the poor relations of Carnage Blender. They also loaned Monty (assumption on my behalf) because they were getting a return whether it be in a sale that he agreed to pay more than anyone else on or a money loan with interest.

Looks to me as if some of the poorer people in the game may make donations to this fund so that the richer people can claw back more money on deals that they set up to make even more money...

"Noble" as the intention is Ranger I won't be contributing anything over and above my verbal $0.02 :p

I cannot speak for anyone else in regards to the .02 cents above, but I did not scam Monty or broker a deal that was outrageous with him. He purchased a 280Kish 2 minion team fully equipped with rares for 5.5 mil.

One more thing, so, GBee, what you are saying is that because those that have debts with Monty don't (in your opinion) need repayment, that Ranger is not justified in his efforts? Only poor people/players deserve fair treatment and honorable acts of kindness? Wow, can you say shallow?

I never asked for any handout, nor did anyone else who Monty cheated AFAIK. Don't try to make something more out of this than fellow players trying to right a wrong that happened to their fellow players.

Ranger is entitled to do this for the 'less poor' people as well as anyone would be entitled to as far as im concerned...

Just have to say I too am not agreeing with G Bee, just because you determine that the people who made deals with Monty were well off doesn't mean they deserve their money stolen/scammed from them. That's the same kind of logic that makes people think it's ok for the poor to rob the rich, or it's alright if there's a riot if the people are "oppressed". I'm giving now just to spite that comment.

Way to go, Ranger. I was considering this exact same concept, though I felt I hadn't the time to follow it through. I feel the same as you, having pushed for a ban, so I will be donating even though I *need* that corn!! *smile*
