No arrows in the store. (in General)

CoolWater September 4 2005 11:06 PM EDT

no more arrows spawn in the store?

QBBarzooMonkey September 4 2005 11:08 PM EDT

Holy cow, look at all those shots!!! Maybe I should arm with a sling again :P

flamewind September 4 2005 11:09 PM EDT

Well seeing as how there's no BA cost to go to the store..

QBRanger September 4 2005 11:09 PM EDT

There is now something new for campers to camp--Normal arrows and sell them for USD.

onlyyouknow September 4 2005 11:09 PM EDT

It appears so. Why are there so many shots and pebbles?

Grim Reaper September 4 2005 11:18 PM EDT

well considering all nw will be going into melee weapons, do we really need arrows? But I do think people will now be holding monopoly over arrows which is bad.

Nixon Jibfest September 5 2005 12:02 AM EDT

Good ole Mistress Reyna... selling 6000 base arrows for $250k in auction.

RIPsalt3d September 5 2005 12:11 AM EDT

The store will continue to spawn arrows, so once the moron profiteers have filled up their allocation of ammo they'll be unable to stop anyone buying the new stuff.

! Love Barney September 5 2005 12:12 AM EDT

it will only work if a group does it

QBRanger September 5 2005 12:13 AM EDT

Arrows and bolts are back in the store.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] September 5 2005 3:23 AM EDT

Store is empty of any decent ammo again. Assuming this is an accident/bug of some kind, and not the bitter campers having their fun, is taking advantage of the situation, for profit, bad form?

Is rank, obvious profiteering not considered "taking advantage of a bug", if it's only a matter of gouging your fellow players? As opposed to profiting from the game, directly?

Dragon Slayer September 5 2005 3:34 AM EDT

i think without camping theres an increase in fighting which also means an increase in arrows used...

maulaxe September 5 2005 3:59 AM EDT

nooooo! I log on, find that camping is gone, only to come to the revelation that camping creates arrows??? So actually CB is doomed to die a horrible death... a quite humiliating one i might add...
no campers = no arrows = not much fighting = not much CB

I think my logic is sound, right?

AdminShade September 5 2005 4:34 AM EDT

normal ammunition should spawn at a decent rate in stores, or store farmers should be punished for their actions.

RAMPAGE September 5 2005 4:37 AM EDT

Arrows on Cb are like gasoline in RL.
Looks like some people here think they are oil companies.

[T]Vestax September 5 2005 4:47 AM EDT

I've checked the shop log and it's just people buying them more then usual. Stop buying them up and just calm down everyone. Saying, "omg thereis no arrows in the store someone is buying them all up that's sucksorz!!!1!" doesn't help the situation none either.

Just get your daily dose and no more and you'll all be fine. Once things stabilize it will be back to normal.

CoolWater September 5 2005 8:25 AM EDT

How did you check the store log now that it's been removed?

bartjan September 5 2005 8:37 AM EDT

The store log is not removed.

Just go to a user's page, click purchases and clear the 'user id' box.

CoolWater September 5 2005 8:47 AM EDT

Thanks bart.
Arrows now seem to be rare in the store. Too many fighters and not enough ammo to go around. Now that more players will start fighting, the frequency of arrows should increase.

sssimmo September 5 2005 8:50 AM EDT

...and as far as I can see there are no problems with the economy having a surplus of ammo. I doubt Jon saw this coming...

MudBug The Redeemer September 5 2005 9:07 AM EDT

that's the problem, people are conditioned to be greedy. Look at the auctions to see what I mean. *cough*arrows*cough* back to a few people hurting the community and the rest of us are gonna pay for it some way some how.... This can't be good, and you all know it.

CoolWater September 5 2005 9:13 AM EDT

I've been waiting like 20 minutes, and still no arrows or bolts. I can't camp and I can't fight without ammos. What to do other than sit and wait?

bartjan September 5 2005 9:15 AM EDT

You shouldn't be waiting, as the number of fights done controls the store spawn rate ;)

CoolWater September 5 2005 9:18 AM EDT

But I don't have arrows to fight. It's like the chicken and the egg, you can't have one without the other.

sssimmo September 5 2005 9:20 AM EDT

Start blending CW!!

Stephen Young September 5 2005 9:52 AM EDT

This is Bull Crap!!!

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] September 5 2005 10:01 AM EDT

I have arrows, tell me where to send them.

Stephen Young September 5 2005 10:02 AM EDT

If anyone wants to help out with some bolts, send to The Last Samurai

I won't forget the favor.

AdminShade September 5 2005 10:13 AM EDT

[USA]Vampire King, I sent some bolts :P

bartjan September 5 2005 10:16 AM EDT

Shade, you forgot to mention that right now the store is flooded with bolts... ;P

AdminShade September 5 2005 10:18 AM EDT

so? :P

Chocolate Thunder September 5 2005 1:58 PM EDT

All the bolts I can find are already upgraded beyond what i normally use.

I blame the republicans as this favors the upper class. :D

[T]Vestax September 5 2005 2:21 PM EDT

"Too many fighters and not enough ammo to go around. Now that more players will start fighting, the frequency of arrows should increase."

This wasn't an issue 24 hours ago. How could there possibly have been any more fighters then there was before. Most people are shocked that it doesn't cost BA to go to the store and are just going when they already have thousands of arrows.

Granted there are a few people capitalizing on the situation, but they didn't cause all of this all by themselves. They had help from a bunch of you who were like, "hey, now I can keep visiting the store until I have 20k arrows, then I'll be good for the week."

Knock it off.

AdminShade September 5 2005 2:27 PM EDT

20k arrows? i thought 15k was the cap? :P (lame yes i know)

But indeed seriously, why do you want to buy 10k arrows in the hope of selling them to someone that can easily buy them like half an hour later for the store discount price.

Normal ammo replenishes itself with a fairly good rate, it's just to blame for some people that thought they would be ruined and tried to bring up a new business.

I hope that the people who now have 15k ammo will keep it for a while :P

[T]Vestax September 5 2005 2:31 PM EDT

I while ago I had thought I actually had a 20k stack of arrows. Maybe I was mistaken, but I'm not about to test it. :P

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] September 5 2005 2:35 PM EDT

there is a way to get more than 14,999 arrows. I dont know if it would be considered a bug absue, though.

If you loan a stack of 14,999 arrows to someone and then buy another 14,999, you can merge them together
when the first set comes back from the loan

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] September 5 2005 2:37 PM EDT

Slayer, Jon fixed that bug IIRC, if you have more than the allotted amount any bundles taking it over that get deleted after a certain length of time.

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] September 5 2005 2:38 PM EDT

Ah, he very well could have, though I dont recall it.

CoolWater September 5 2005 5:02 PM EDT

"This wasn't an issue 24 hours ago. How could there possibly have been any more fighters then there was before."

Vestax, why is it not possible that there are more fighters? Now that camping is gone, all campers either become fighters or leave the game they don't even have the choice to be a forger due to low mpr and no nub. So they have to fight and increase their mpr. Those that used to camp and fight will now have to fight only thus have more BA to spent in fighting which means more ammos needed.

AdminJonathan September 5 2005 5:09 PM EDT

there weren't THAT many camping devotees

LumpBot September 5 2005 5:11 PM EDT

I'd say less than 10 people who used to camp all the time now fights.

[T]Vestax September 5 2005 5:18 PM EDT

How many campers are actually fighting? Honestly, the campers were the minority. If you remember what the camper log looked like the number of visits (a.k.a. BA) trailed off quite steeply. Compared to all the daily cp (1-3 cp per BA) that was nearly nothing in BA consumption.

Firstly, clanners still do not even cover all the fighters, just a fraction of them. Secondly, most campers use mage teams (to maximize cash) so they have no reason to be using arrows now unless they are either changing strats or trying to make a profit. Thirdly, not all the campers are willing to fight anyhow, many of them are forgers and a few probably just stopped playing. Lastly, what makes you think that BA consumption isn't related to arrow spawns.

The only way we could possible run out of arrows is when people horde them.

Special J September 5 2005 5:20 PM EDT

You can still check purchase logs, so why don't you hop over and do that Vestax, no one is hoarding arrows.

Calm down.

Urizen September 5 2005 5:34 PM EDT

At first I was taken aback when there were no arrows but I didn't blame it on new policy dealing with the campers. The real problem is that there's not many who use slings. Not like before when there was a sling of david.

The the camper change rocks in my eyes. The market will totally dependent on supply and demand, no luck envoled.

CoolWater September 5 2005 5:42 PM EDT

Just think of it this way. When we used to have log for no. of store visits, there were around 7k-8k of store visits (I think) in 24 hrs, which was equivalent of 7k-8k BA. Just take half of it say 4k BA out of that and multiply by 5 arrows per fight on average (some fights needed more) that's around 20k of arrows. furthermore, no BA spent in visiting the stores, say average player visits the store 10 times a day which is 10 BA. Multiply that by the number of players who fights, cause they will now use that 10 BA to fight.

But maybe your right, it's not the regular fighters. I would assume the most of the top players would have sense enough and they do. The last genius on this list is a SMToE FB Mage. Either way we have a problem that shouldn't be solved by having Jon flood the market with more arrows.

Coolwater, your last contention has merit but your first one complete ignores every other point I made.

Grim Reaper September 5 2005 5:58 PM EDT

What happened to the 8items purchase limit every 20minutes?

CoolWater September 5 2005 6:01 PM EDT

I can see that there are some players who buy all the arrows. I'm not saying that it's not true. I'm saying in addition to that, there are more fights which needed more arrows. So, adding more arrows to the store will not hurt anyone or the economy, it will also suppress those who try to make some profit from buying all the arrows.

Inferno September 5 2005 6:19 PM EDT

Lots of arrows in store now..

Banei September 5 2005 6:25 PM EDT

Sorry. Was stocking up on arrows in case they became harder to get :)

Mikel [Bring it] September 5 2005 11:09 PM EDT

lol Banei don't worry about it.

Vestax, I usually keep myself maxxed out anyways, I use the cheapest of the arrows on my character, so I was always on the look out for those.

If any fighter needs some spare arrows to fight with, let me know, I kept some stacks unmerged from my normal setup, however, if I see that you don't have a fighting character and you are buying them up, I won't send them to you.
