Multi Multi everywhere, why o why is this happening. (in General)

As we all have noticed there is a large explosion of multis. I wonder why?
Gee I have no idea.
Could it be that the NUB gives new players way too much money that they then can sell for USD? Nah, that cannot be it.
Could it be that starting new if your not at or near the top is just too tempting? Nah, that certainly cannot be it.
It must be the fact that the NUB is so fair, plenty of people are getting their "sister", "brother", "aunt", "uncle", "mothers aunts sisters best friends dog" all to sign up.
Yes that must be it.
No seriously its the NUB. The rewards/benefits are too good to not try to get away with it. I would guess that the risk/reward ratio is too good for someone to not try it. I am sure we catch most of them, but I am also sure there are some that slip through the cracks for a while.
So, please stop this madness knows as the NUB as it currently is. I think most of us (except the new players with it) dislike it.
No don't flame me about not wanting competition at the top. Thats far from it. But this is just too fast for the game. If someone can play for months like most of us older players, then yes sure. But not at supersonic speeds.

agreed 176%!
I think the cash rewards should be altered to make it less appealing.

Take away the cash bonus and put more emphasis on experience. Seeing as how rares aren't nearly as expensive as they used to be, why should a new player need a cash bonus? I think by making the exp gain higher and putting cash down to a normal level is a wonderful fix.

You are probably correct in your assumption Ranger. However, it could just be attributed to the Admins being more wise to the ways of the multi users? I think Jonathan needs to weigh in on this one...

Seriously, how many more threads can you make about the NUB people? I vote for a forum ban for the next monkey to bring this garbage up for the same reason we 48! people from chat for spouting the same crap over and over again.

USD can fix the cash problem. More exp will be way too much.

No one is making you click or better yet, respond to this or any other thread. Shove off and take your ranting somewhere else, maybe to a thread about something you deem important so others can rain on your parade...
I'm with brandonLP on this one :P I was going to say exactly the same thing until he beat me to it. If you get less $ and more experience then you're incenting them to play for the XP gain ... u can't sell the XP so the best reason to multi (the cash) is lessened ... *shrug* i like it
oh and w00t!

Well, Tezmac, if people keep bringing it up, it must be an important community-wide issue that probably need to be dealt with. Ranger is just bringing up another valid point as to why the NUB, in this form, is doing more good than bad.

how many of the multis are old timers who have run out of NUB?
none that I can think of.
CB always had newbies who think "if one is good, two is better."

Didn't a really high MPR char get reset a little while ago for being a multi claiming his "little brother" was also playing on a NUB account? I can't remember for sure, I might be smoking crack...
Synco
September 20 2005 4:32 PM EDT
Yes, Brandon's suggestion is great if it's purpose it to reduce the number of multi's. But his suggestion will worsen the situation of noobs reaching high MPRs in a matter of weeks.

Nope, Glory is right. TheRealKiller's "brother" created a new account.
Instead of increasing the xp gain, just leave it alone. Simply decread the cash rewards. I agree that the xp rewards currently for the NUB are good.. I'm still getting my 100% NUB. :P It's taken Ranger a while to get there and I'd think it was crazy if someone shot anywhere near the top by the end of their NUB ..

I'm not saying give them insane amounts of exp, but do something to offset the fact that they would no longer receive increased CB2$ gains.

wrong
the "brother's" account was also out of NUB
he'd created it a while ago, but didn't play it until he needed to place a shill bid on something in auctions

Thanks for clearing that question up Jonathan.

There's always someone who should know better that tries to get away with it, but the majority are newbs who wouldn't know what a NUB was if it landed on their head. These are the same newbs who don't bother reading the T&C's.
Glory does that mean you're smoking crack?? lol

i knew of one, but he's banned already :)

True, there seem to be a ton of multis, but I don't blame the NUB.
After all, its just those who, as usual, want to join, make money out of it, and go. I wouldn't dare multi because I lover my beautiful account too much. Once you're addicted, the risk is no longer worth it.
And yes, Ranger, of course the rewards/benefits are very good, if you haven't played long. But haven't they always seemed that way? Before, the problem was that it took so long to get enough to sell for USD that by the time they had enough, they were hooked. There were still multis though, I'm sure. This just speeds up the process a little - but it ends up putting more CB into the game than before and gives the admins a little fun! ;)
Don't take anything I said to be worth a grain of salt, I just felt like posting. Enjoy.
I agree, it would be a good idea to get rid of Money in the NUB calculation, and just stick with exp, dont raise or lower exp, just get rid of money in the NUB. Supposedly the NUB is to help people reach the top, so what does money have to do with that? Yea, you'll have to lower the BA for NUB's cost again, but not too low, cuz they still need to be pricey since they do have exp bonuses.

eh, I disagree. I think the NUB should include a small bit more money so that the player can quickly get enough to afford a tattoo - you all know quite well that it is all but necessary.

the money in the NUB is supposed to be used for upgrading weapons, buying them and ect.
People selling their money for USD is going to lose out in the end, and if people would stop buying it from those with a NUB then where is the issue?
If a market is there, then it will continue to be sold.

What about the case with Evolution and Inferno, seems like a perfect example of old timers ran out of NUB, and then create new account. Has he been proved innocent or something ? I mean, one sided IP transfer since 17 August and people only start noticing it just now. Inferno said that Evolution would login and cleared up the problem last time I read the thread but it seems Evolution hasn't logged in at all.

I don't think there are more multis.
I think there are the SAME number of multis, but more people looking for them because they see posts like this and think they can help by looking.
So we get 5X the number of "HE'S A MULTI!!!" posts, and 2X the number of "Yes, this is ACTUALLY a multi" posts by admins. Because in general the community sucks at finding multis instead of burning witches.

Even without NUB there would be people who would want to make multiple accounts and sell cb2 on them for usd.
