getting tired fo this stuff... (in General)

csraven September 20 2005 11:39 PM EDT

i read the post about the milti's... i whole heartedly agree with Ranger that the NUB is is just too good not to try... i have been playing for months... and with the new changes that jon has made, i regret to say that have been considering not playing for a while just to see if things pick back up... i of course have kept playing in hopes of new ideas to make the game fair for EVERYONE,(not just newbs)... but i dont see things progressing, and with camping out of commision there is no longer a need for econ clans, so what is left for us vets to do... forging has lost its flair and the rewards just aren't good enough for fighting,(unless your'e in a clan), which is still a measly 15% at best... so people have resorted to cheating to try to make the game more entertaining...

please tell me why you people still play so that i can keep hope for CB2... i really dont want to loose faith!

Biscuitback September 20 2005 11:45 PM EDT

i play for the same reason i played cb1, and started here on jan 1st..

it's a good game.

[T]Vestax September 20 2005 11:53 PM EDT

I ran out of NUB a while ago, and I keep playing. The reason, it's a good game.

Maelstrom September 21 2005 12:58 AM EDT

I'm getting tired fo this milti, too. ;)

But I generally disagree with you, otherwise. Aside from the removal of camping (which was almost necessary...), the game just keeps getting better and better for me.

Lumpy Koala September 21 2005 2:56 AM EDT

haha I can get stuff at a lot more cheaper price with camping gone and people selling off to create NUB account ( j/k) ... so I am happy.

csraven September 21 2005 1:19 PM EDT

i love hearing that it is a good game but, what makes it one... tell me some aspects of the game that people love, its hard to make a fair judgement off of "it a good game"... i know that lots of people think its a good game but, what makes it tick for you?

Vaynard [Fees Dirt Cheap] September 21 2005 1:23 PM EDT

Yeah, everyone hates those stupid multi's. Why, I wish admins would step up and just start banning and resetting them! (/sarcasm)

Personally, I still play CB2 because it's just a fun time waster. I enjoy seeing my character advance and I enjoy trying to get my stats kind of impressive. And you can't forget the good community - minus those few that try to cheat the system of course.

Maelstrom September 21 2005 1:24 PM EDT

Why is CB so addicting?

[T]Vestax September 21 2005 1:36 PM EDT

You see the thing is that there are so many goals one could choose in this game. Everyone obsess about highest score, yet there is so much more. People in this game are striving for so many other things. I strive for cp and having the highest GA once again. Others strive for things like money that they won't sell away, camping rares such as the low-end base items, beating a fellow player at your level, being the best forger in town, and so forth. Yeah you can say it's all about the high score in the end, but that's just you cause not everyone thinks that way.

csraven September 21 2005 1:38 PM EDT

thanks vaynard... good answer... and thanks (kinda) maelstrom, i hadn't seen that forum yet, but still, not the answer i was looking for... perhaps there is no good reason for playing... mabey it is just a good time waster...

dunno, but im still looking for that one good reason to keep playing... (other than Jon being kinda cool)

I'm still recovering from my vacation. I'll try to catch up whenever the pile of better paying than this work reduces to a bit less overwhelming size.

Multis have nothing to do with the game being fun or not, if you are blaming it on that then you are just looking for an easy way out.

Rules being broken are a part of any game, not to mention everything else in life. We deal with them when we find them, not much more you can ask.

Rewards are fine for fighting, if you are comparing CB1 to CB2 then that where you problem lies. Not the same game, not the same economy. Camping was removed because a select few chose to cheat while doing it, which isn't cute, or funny or even the slightest bit cool. It is however 100% lame with a mix of other words which I don't feel like fining myself for posting.

Once the issue can be corrected and a new way of camping can come around, perhaps it will, perhaps it won't. CB is a living game, ever changing, if you are not hip on changes then perhaps you should stop looking for someone to tell you why to remain, but simply leave and forget.

How else would I make a quick buck on Cb1? ; )

( and HOW DARE YOU)
***i sincerly hope Jon saw this and fined you himself for this blatant act of disregaurd and disrespect... you completely missed the point of the post and went on TRYING to make me quit... not once did i compare CB1 to CB2, and im offended that you think that a vet like me would get so confused... If i couldnt cope with the changes i would have quit by now wouldnt I?

im looking for constructive critisism... not arrogance...

Special J September 21 2005 9:12 PM EDT

I am tickled pink.

You call it rude, I call it being blunt.

I countered everything you said, you see an issue with that. How amusing.

Undertow September 21 2005 9:21 PM EDT

Wow, csraven, how do you survive life if you get so worked up over that. It's disturbing.

Unica September 21 2005 10:01 PM EDT

I play to interact with my friends who have to nerve to move to Washington and start new lives....

Seriously though, I enjoy making my strat unique and unusual. I enjoy the challenge of making a completely useless and over-nerfed tattoo compete on the first and second pages of character listings. I like the community, most of them, those people/forums I don't like I ignore (what a concept). I agree that camping was nicely incorporated into the economy until a few people decided to be stupid, whichever side of the debate you are on that's pretty much what it boils down to. While I had NUB I never tried to take advantages of any 'bugs', published or not, and ended up with a refresh rate of 7/10 and a tattoo lvl 350000 I got at lvl 20 as a clan gift. I didn't get high enough in MPR to disturb any of the giants, but my NUB was 98% and started in May. I thought it sucked when ilovehellokitty played for two or three weeks and passed me when I still had my NUB. But in the end I got over it because I really like to play to socialize with people, especially my friends I know in real life who play, and not to mention the new friends I make from other countries and professions.

csraven September 22 2005 2:12 PM EDT

Thank you Unica. That was the kind of answer I was looking for. The complete and total reasoning. Im glad to know you Unica.

And to Mrwuss... next time you feel that you have to counter everything i say, dont. i did not appreciate your statments. i sincerly hope that the next time we chat it will be on terms where we agree on something... i do not intend to make things dificult, nor do i wish to be bombarded by arrogance...

but i do see where you might have misunderstood me... forgive me for my anger and i will try to be more "blunt" with my statements...

AdminShade September 22 2005 2:19 PM EDT

i play for the fun. :)

csraven September 22 2005 2:30 PM EDT

but what parts of it make it fun for you?

AdminQBVerifex September 22 2005 3:11 PM EDT

I gotta say something, I love this game, and I suggest new things because I want this game to keep being kick butt and interesting to me and others for a long time to come so that other people can come here and play. I love the community and everything.

But I disagree with the idea of, "If you don't like it, leave." Sorry. That is retarded. If you like this game, and want to stick around, then contribute something, see if you can help make it better.
