Where is the USD market now ? Up or down? Your Vote. (in General)

Ilovehellokitty November 26 2005 1:52 PM EST

suppose the old current rate is 15USD/mil.
Choose what's you think it should be now first in your post along with why.
A. Up
B. Down
I think :
a. The downfall of USD recently per millions is really short term due to fact a lot of NUB players sold out to USD where it's just got nerfed and they wouldn't make as much money as time invested in. But those who quit and sell out for USD is a small number compare to the rest of the community. That wave is short term and would not (or should not) affect much
b. The USD market should be up 'cause of 2 reasons : First, NCB sinks more money flow into the game in return of exp. , NUB gets Nerfed really bad for the money worth of it. (already stated).
c. And Lastly, The upcoming of Jayuu's wave into the high level threaten high Net Worth player.
My final vote is A. UP.

QBRanger November 26 2005 1:57 PM EST

You forgot D.

Those that used to buy USD no longer need to since they already have a nice NW and good items. Therefore there are far less buyers for the CB2 making the price go down. Also there are tons of new players making tons of cb2 with the NUB (even nerfed) and a lot are selling it for profit.

Therefore I vote D. The USD rate is down. Either way, as a CB2 buyer, I have not spent over 12 usd per million for a few weeks now and will not spend over 10 anymore.

WeaponX November 26 2005 2:02 PM EST

D. Monopoly price fixing a.k.a. USD market depends heavily on 4 players.

chappy [Soup Ream] November 26 2005 2:06 PM EST

cb2 is like a bid flea market ... shop around for the price you want to pay ... what seems good at this booth (from this CBer) might be a good deal, but might not be the best ...

I've sold CB2 for $16/million and I've bought for $11/million ... I know that If I wanted to sell my cb2 cash or gear for $15/million I could do it ... it might take a little longer because some people want to sell fast and they;ll take the offers of $10/million .. but im not going anywhere anytime soon .. picture this:

If everyone that was selling CB2 would NOT sell it for 10-12/million then the price would go back up ... it should be a sellers market, not a buyers market ... Make the USD spenders pay whatever you want them to pay ... price gauge if you want ... I'd love to see the day when cb2 money rises above $20/million. It all depends on the sellers though ... not the buyers...

To sum it up I vote:

D. WHAT ARE THE SELLERS THINKING?!?

QBRanger November 26 2005 2:12 PM EST

Well Megaman, I see you got Kittyou to post what you wanted.

How can I get it through your head that it is not price fixing if I will not pay what you want for your cb2? Who says I have to pay 15 usd per million? You seem to think that it is your right to be able to sell it for that much and I have to pay it. Or else I am guilty of some nefarous conspiracy?

If everyone decides not to pay 3 million for a corn and only pay 1.2 million for one, I am sure you would scream out "fix". Go to school and take an econ course on supply and demand.

I have little demand for cb2 right now. The fact Jayuu is making a push to the top really does not matter since I have plenty of items stashed away that I can sell or insta for cb2. If I can get a good deal on CB2 (that is 10 to 1) I will buy, if not, then not.

Ilovehellokitty November 26 2005 2:19 PM EST

I should add: only 1 vote per person needed. There's no need to repeat over and over what is already been stated. More Opinions needed than just screaming:" I don't need cb2 but i would bid and buy on every single sells" QBRMikelanger

Maelstrom November 26 2005 2:26 PM EST

The rate is going down, as per Ranger's explanation.

DAWG November 26 2005 2:31 PM EST

WOW the whole supreme clan is out of wack...

I guess you guys think there is a huge conspiracy in BR and we have figured out how to rule the world and you guys are here to save the community... LOL...

Prices go down that is the way this game works... when cb2 started it was around 25 - 20 per mill...

More cash being made and when there is so much cash being produced and not enough new players to spend the cash, than the USD price will go down.

It is a very easy concept to understand but you guys have to stop thinking that we have a huge conspiracy going on and just play the game how it unfolds...

I think you guys should all be fined for talking so bad about ranger who is the only person I have seen out there that tries to take care of players... I try to do what I can but nothing in comparison to his contributions.

Example the “Monty” thing he handled it all and got players back all their cash. Also I got scammed out of 4 mill a few weeks ago and he took care of it all... he is the best blender in the game and you guys should be ashamed of your self.

Mikel [Bring it] November 26 2005 2:32 PM EST

I don't see anyone buying it for 14 per mil anymore, in fact, 10-12 is the rate it is selling at right now. If you don't want certain people buying it at those rates, then buy it all up yourself and monopolize the market.

As Ranger stated, it's all about supply and demand, I have tons of nice items that I make money off of in rentals, I have no real need of CB2, but if I get it at a price that I am ok with, then I will buy it and what people do with their CB2 is really no one else's business as long as they aren't a multi.

How can you say that NCB's are buying all of their BA on a daily basis? I can name one that only buys in wacky xp time, and I'm sure there is more like GL than like Glory and myself.

A) Their wasn't as many NUBs that sold out as there was old-timers, so that is moot.

B) Even though the NUB got nerfed, so did their BA costs, they still make money, point is moot.

C) Jayuu buys cb2 as well. I don't hear him complaining about the prices of CB2 to USD. Only the non-USD buyers are complaining. There's a way to fix that, but you'd have to break down and *gasp* buy some yourself.

Maelstrom November 26 2005 2:41 PM EST

Actually Mikel, I don't think it's the non-USD buyers that are complaining: it the $cb2-sellers that are complaining, because they are now making less money.

Mikel [Bring it] November 26 2005 2:44 PM EST

Good point Mael, I wonder how many of those were also campers....

Special J November 26 2005 2:46 PM EST

Someone needs to look up the definition of Supply and Demand.

Supply goes up, demand goes down and prices go down as well.

If supply went down, demand would go up and prices would follow.

And kitty why do you even care? You are not a buyer or a seller.

AdminShade November 26 2005 2:46 PM EST

E: i dont care :p

Quark November 26 2005 3:18 PM EST

It's not a perfectly free market here - ranger influences 3 other large buyers of CB$. I'm not saying it's price fixing, but it is a greater influence than if they were in different clans and didn't have a general clan agreement to not outbid each other.

That being said, the supply is increasing, and the NCB demand is not all that high. Most if not all the first round of NCB players are now breaking even on BA purchase costs based on normal fight rewards (myself included). I don't need anywhere close to what I expected to fund the NCB - maybe 2 mil up front until fight rewards go up.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] November 26 2005 3:58 PM EST

Crap, lost message..

There are quit a fw reason that item demand has gone down and thereore price. I'll re cap quicker than I wrote the last one.

1) Mages. More mage teams, and they do better than CB1. Mages need less items.
2) Tattoos. Suck up multiple armour slots, less armour needed.
3) No more Campers. Items can not be hoarded.
4) NCB. Existing items can be re used on new characters.
5) No fams. Duplicate items are no longer needed after you have your main team decked out.
6) NW-PR link. No need to get as much cash as you can to bump items as high as you possibly could, as this is now detrimental.

I'm sure I've missed a few.

Bottom line, items just aren't as necessary as they used to be, and people are making do without them.

So, all that's left to spend USD on is CB2. Most make enough money normally to no longer have to spend USD to buy items.

If you don't need to buy any moer items, or pay to increase them, so can sae your money. USD is lessened.

Maelstrom November 26 2005 4:16 PM EST

GL has it exactly: to summarize, there is simply less demand, therefore prices are decreasing.

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] November 26 2005 5:25 PM EST

The NUB should lead to a general downward trend, I think this will continue to be the case even with the NCB as a possible balance. Of course its a tiny market here and small changes in buyer/seller numbers can cause dramatic short term changes. Right now the some of the people playing only for USD are panicking and seem desperate to sell at a low price rather than get even less in the future. I could see it recovering to 15 per mil short term but ultimately it will go down.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] November 26 2005 5:39 PM EST

Kitty, not thinking of selling out for USD when your bonus time runs out are you? >;)

Ilovehellokitty November 26 2005 5:58 PM EST

No, I spend my money on food and education (e.i. Books, clothes, bus fares, health insurance)

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] November 26 2005 6:00 PM EST

Not buying stuff, but selling I Love You for more food and education money.

I think the market for selling characters is dropping as well. Why buy one of the top ten when you can fight for 3-4 months and have a character if not as big, bigger...

Ilovehellokitty November 26 2005 6:22 PM EST

easier to say than get it done. Mr. #1 postman :P

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] November 26 2005 7:33 PM EST

Shhhhh!!! Shade won't let me tell people that. ;)

*Shrugs* I could get to number one, if I really wanted to, but I'll let Glory take the, erm, glory! ;)

AdminNightStrike November 26 2005 8:54 PM EST

About a week and a half ago, I was mocked for valuing cash at 10:1. However, I buy it very cheaply. I invest it with Joe, and sell it, on occassion, very highly. That's called being profitable.

Within the past several days, Ranger posted in every single cash thread stating that he would only accept $10/m. Others did it, as well. I've been buying at around 10/m for a while, but no one really knew it. Mikel jumped on the bandwagon recently, and currently, the price is being driven down. This is a buyers' market by definition, as there is no way for a seller to create demand. We, as buyers, are just exercising our control.

When I started offering 10/m, it was very slow going. I got a few hits every now and again. Now, I get more hits. In the last week while I've been dealing with personal issues and business travel, the average selling price for USD dropped to about 11/m. What will happen in the future? It depends on what buyers will pay.

I'm currently buying. I will continue to drive the price down as I see fit. When I start selling, I will drive it up. That's business.

I really didn't get my thoughts out the way I wanted to, but I have to leave now. I will try to post again later so that it makes more sense. I will just say that Ranger put it well -- take an econ class and you'll understand the market better.
