Max tattoo questions (in General)

How is the max tattoo level calculated? Jack Crow was at 450k mpr - I dropped two minions, only losing 120k mpr but my max tattoo level dropped nearly 300k level.

So what determines the level?

And the growth rate? I've noticed that the max tattoo level grows at a slightly faster rate than my tattoo. Why?

Ah... If Max Tattoo is linear, and based off of your VPR, as a tattoos grow at a third of what you do, your max tattoo value should always be higher than a tattoo you level normally. :)

Start a new character and a new base tattoo, and at any time, the tattoo should be a third of your max tattoo level?

And the growth rate is unknown.
