BBCode (in General)

Primordial December 19 2005 6:44 PM EST

Who thinks CB needs it?

QBRanger December 19 2005 6:46 PM EST

If I knew what it was, perhaps I could give an informed answer.

Primordial December 19 2005 6:50 PM EST

It's something like HTML, but easier like

[b]Here is Bold[/b]

[u]Underline Here[/u]

[i]Italics here[/i]

[img]Post image here[/img]

there are a lot more.

Special J December 19 2005 6:59 PM EST

so, and tell me if I am wrong here please,

[b] is easier than <b>
[i] is easier than <i>
[u] is easier than <u>

Am I missing something here?
The time it took you to learn Lazy Code is the same it would take to learn HTML.

Primordial December 19 2005 7:03 PM EST

BBCode you don't need
all you do is type [url]www.website.com[/url] for website. there are also colors you can do like [color=red]This is Red[/color]

Primordial December 19 2005 7:04 PM EST

_you don't need <br>_ sorry left that out lol

Special J December 19 2005 7:04 PM EST

No, CB does not need this.

You need to learn html, or opt not to use the option.

The post I removed was due to your failure to read, on the page that informs of spelling mistakes there are directions on how to get around the spellcheck. As well as stating not to add spam to a post to get around the check.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 19 2005 7:15 PM EST

the second I start seeing color tags used in form posts I'm turning my vc settings to BW...otherwise I'm afraid it'll start looking like a trading # on Efnet populated by mIRC'ers

AdminG Beee December 19 2005 7:35 PM EST

Colour is optional :p

Mikel [Bring it] December 19 2005 8:18 PM EST

XxFaezerxX December 19 2005 8:23 PM EST

XxFaezerxX December 19 2005 8:24 PM EST

how do u put colors?

SNK3R December 19 2005 8:25 PM EST

You can do many more things in HTML versus BBCode. There's another forum I'm currently contributing to that only uses BBCode, and the things I'd like to do, I can't. It's just plain annoying.

However, perhaps there could be a compromise where Jon could make an option that a user can select between "Plain text," "HTML," or "BBCode" for the forums. I'm not sure how applicable it would be in these forums, though.

Special J December 19 2005 8:44 PM EST

why does Jon need to make the forum understand yet another form on input, when the current ones work just fine? It is the user that has to adjust.

SNK3R December 19 2005 8:57 PM EST

It's just a suggestion.

AdminJonathan December 19 2005 10:38 PM EST

I always get pissed off by BBCode forums, too. So I'm definitely not adding it to mine. :)

AdminShade December 20 2005 1:58 AM EST

Links colors and other things are just as easy added in HTML as in BBCode imo also.

I'm on a forum of friends and it uses BBCode but I keep on putting HTML in it instead :D

Xiaz on Hiatus December 20 2005 5:39 AM EST

Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue.

So many pretty colours :D

{CB1ate}aupStar December 20 2005 9:02 AM EST

MaLicious [Ascendancy] December 20 2005 2:24 PM EST

MaLicious [Ascendancy] December 21 2005 1:22 PM EST

ow that is really really really bad on the eyes :(.

AdminQBVerifex December 21 2005 3:03 PM EST

CB is doing just fine, we have limited HTML abilities, so don't worry about it people :)

AdminShade December 21 2005 3:51 PM EST

Limited HTML and CSS indeed :)

MaLicious [Ascendancy] December 21 2005 4:14 PM EST

HTML does just fine we don't need BB code
