IS cb2 losing it. (in General)

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] January 16 2006 4:46 PM EST

When I first got here in June there was always something to do like check the threads or forge or look for cheap items in the auctions and the clans were all getting really high cp per day.
Now the threads are boring all there are is fs/wtb and people looking for clan members. There are no cheap rare items in the auctions any more, and the clans are not producing as high scores.
Sadly I think cb is losing it.
I want to see what other carnage blender players think.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] January 16 2006 4:49 PM EST

kefeck, I haven't been watching the number of new users of late, but I can say there has been more involvement of certain folks who now have only one CB with which to kill time...and I've seen some spelendid flame wars going on (what matches? ME? Where?). Looks like CB as per the norm to me.

Dark Dreky January 16 2006 4:52 PM EST

Well, I'd have to say that I'm sure you are going to get alot of replies. My opinion is that CB is not 'losing it'. Your arguements do not really make sense either...

Threads are all boring... try contests or off-topic, they're usually entertaining.

There are no cheap rare items in the auctions... Wow. The auctioneer doesn't set the price, people are simply paying more money for rare items due to an increase in demand.

Clans are not producing as high scores... what clans are you looking at? Clan scores look pretty consistent to me.

I do not think that CB is 'losing it' in any way, shape, or form. I think it's still one of the greatest games!

That's just my two cents. =)

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] January 16 2006 4:57 PM EST

Yeah the top 15 clans are producing but look at the rest I cant even find ppl to join my clan and normally lots of ppl join.

Dark Dreky January 16 2006 5:04 PM EST

You can't find people to join your clan because people do not want to join it. It is not a general lack of people. Believe me, I have the same problem. I posted for my clan and no one responded, its ok! =)

NSFY January 16 2006 5:14 PM EST

Well half the problem is the clan name - what kind of demons from hell wouldn't even capitalize their name ?!?! Sounds like some pretty ambivalent demons if you ask me. Tell those demons to grow a pair and maybe they will have more success recruiting.

I meant horns.

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] January 16 2006 5:16 PM EST

aubviously these demons duh.

"...in June there was always something to do like check the threads... Now the threads are boring all there are is fs/wtb and people looking for clan members."

I agree with you on this, to an extent - the forums have been slow lately, but for good reasons.
Since camping was abolished, we now have far less FS threads, and less threads from people complaining about campers.
Since the NCB was introduced, we no longer have a new thread each day complaining about the NUB.
Since the game is now a year old, Jon has balanced things out pretty well, so we don't have people complaining about things being unbalanced.
Finally, there haven't been any major changes to gameplay in a while, so we don't have people discussing new strategies.
To summarize, we no longer have all that junk in the forums, so they are a bit more boring.

"There are no cheap rare items in the auctions any more"

I disagree. When camping was abolished, prices dropped. A lot. When the NCB was introduced, people sold off their extra rares, and prices dropped some more. Now the NCB characters are getting larger, so people want to buy some larger rares, and prices are rising, but not by much.

"the clans are not producing as high scores."

This is again due to the NCB, which means BA is much more expensive. I used to buy all my BA several days a week, but now I can hardly afford to buy BA even once a week.

"Sadly I think cb is losing it."

In conclusion, I disagree.

Pysche January 16 2006 5:57 PM EST

Some would claim CB2 never had it.

QBRanger January 16 2006 6:19 PM EST

The lack of cheap items in auctions that kefeck is referring to is likely related to the "new autobidding" instituted by Jon.

That does remove the "cheap" items in auctions. However, for those selling items the autobidding is a benefit.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] January 16 2006 6:30 PM EST

Some new changes to the game would give people new stuff to digest and talk about. :)

QBsutekh137 January 16 2006 6:33 PM EST

And some would day CB1 and CB2 have been losing it for years. But since it is still around, I would have to say the "some" (including me) might be the ones who are maybe just getting bored with a game they have fairly decently sussed out.

Still fun though.

Wasp January 16 2006 6:43 PM EST

CB2 Was okay at the start, new stuff, lots of fun things to do... Now it's just boring, there isn't much to do at all? I can't even be bothered to burn ba, thats just boring. I been playing runescape instead, it's much more interesting, more things to do. Perhaps a change should be made in order to make the game more interesting and fun?

Karmic Mishap [Soup Ream] January 16 2006 8:36 PM EST

I miss camping and really want tournaments. Is Jon still accepting help writing those now that Almuric's gone?

Maelstrom January 16 2006 8:47 PM EST

Wasp, would tournaments help to revive your interest?

I, too, miss camping. Every now and then, when I'm bored, I'll think back to the glorious days of mindless, hopeful camping... *sigh*

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] January 16 2006 9:55 PM EST

How can you say the FS/WTB forum is boring? Watching the price of $CB climb back toward $15/mil is the very definition of entertainment! ;)

Bootsanator January 16 2006 11:07 PM EST

i think tournaments sounds like a Splendid idea, especially since i never was a cb1'er, and as such, never got the chance to do one. as i said in some other thread.

I do agree with Bast, though. All that arguing about the freaking price of CB2$ vs. USD and how the price dropped, free market and all that jazz, and here it is climbing agian. :P

PirateKing January 16 2006 11:17 PM EST

*yawn.....*

Let's see. One person thinks the forums are boring, sees that there are no "cheap items in the auctions" and this means that the game is doomed.

Drat. I'll start packing my things and head for the hills now.

QBJohnnywas January 17 2006 3:18 AM EST

Do people not get enough enjoyment from developing their characters?

IndependenZ January 17 2006 5:38 AM EST

Why doubt CB? I still think it's great! I'm having enough fun to keep coming back, day after day after day. Even after a busy weekend I just keep coming back... now, would I do that if CB wasn't worth it? :p

I have to agree that forums might be a bit slow nowadays, but it's enough for me to browse through and to waste a little time between BA refreshes. Come to think of it, hasn't it always been a bit like this? Some whining here, some selling there, hey look, it's another multi!

CB2 is actually quite active at the moment. Lots of new players, lots of things to do, great characters around, and there's a new form of auction sniping now! (It's fun: Try to auction-snipe Jon!)

*wanders off feeling all happy and goood*

Wasp January 17 2006 5:03 PM EST

I don't have the time for tournaments, never played them. CB2 has lost that trading side of things. Camping was a great thing, and should never have been taken out. Now theres no grabbing up bargains and what not. The game really is boring. I have over 130 BA that I can't be bothered to use (not to mention the other 5 million i can purchase), on cb1, I couldn't get enough BA.....
