Tatoo Growth Help (in General)

Can someone please explain why my character keeps outgrowing tattoos so quickly.? new user, please dont yell at me, is it in the wiki and if so, Where? Very lost. Thank you

It is not in the wiki, however, it has been seen that your max tattoo level outgrows your tattoo's growth.

Does that mean I have to keep buying bigger tattos until the new user bonus is over and my character evens out a bit.

You'er tattoo only gains 33% of the XP you do, so you're outgrowing it at a rate of 3 to 1.

my tattoo is named and grows a tiny bit faster than my own MPR...

Would the max tattoo end up being almost twice what a tattoo grown with a char the whole time would be?

The max tattoo level is designed to grow faster than your tattoo will grow. The level was introduced to prevent an advantage being gained by equipping huge tattoos on small teams (specifically the fire familiar). It shouldn't be considered as the level you must keep your tattoo at (though that may be beneficial in some cases)

I think it even depends on the following:


if you have 100k MPR but a higher level tattoo -> tattoo grows slower

if you have a 100k MPR but a lower level tattoo -> tattoo grows faster

and at some point (perhaps the before 70% of MPR which was the best way to use them) they grow in harmony?

I have a graph made up and I will post it here soon after I gather some more Data. Its based on MPR and Max Tattoo growth %. You have to break about 640k MPR to see your max tattoo at double your MPR

MPR: 519,688
Max tattoo: 1,002,000

If it helps! (very nearly double).

PR / MPR: 1,722,635 / 1,224,114 Max tattoo: 2,750,000

So as you get higher MPR, your MTL goes up exponentially.

I still need some numbers for my graph. Anyone with MPR above 600k please post your MPR and Max Tattoo. I will post the graph as soon as I get a little more info.

On a personal note, when my tattoo was unnamed, its level always feel short of being 1/2 the max tattoo level. I think (just a guess) that max tattoo grows twice as fast as a regular tattoo grows.

As Ranger said the rate of increase of max tattoo level goes up with mpr.

Okay heres the graph. Its based on the percent that max tattoo is over MPR. Thats the ratio. My next attempt will be to map out the growth of a tattoo compared to MPR and Max Tattoo.

From my own experience and observation, on a 4 minion team I have my tattoo was growing at a rate of 90% of MPR increase. When my MPR increased by 100k, my tattoo increase by 90k levels.

Ok. Thank you for all of your help. Thanks to Draco, I bought a tattoo about 100K ahead of my max tat level. Does that mean it stays where it is until I grow into it and then it will continue to grow or does it still grow. Why do I think I should read a wiki about 3 sentences ago?

It will start growing again as soon as your max tattoo goes above your Tattoo level plus the 4% level bonus for the naming. Est. 342,170 level tattoo after naming bonus. Your Max tattoo, I'm guessing from my graph trend, is about Est. 229,770 Give or take a couple grand. Please let me know what your Max tattoo actually is so I can check my estimate.
