Realms?? (in General)

Flamey January 19 2006 2:48 AM EST

i know what they are, but in the wiki it says

shire--people playing up to 2 months

rivendell--more than 2 months less than six

lorien--more than 6 less that 1 year

gondor--after finally a year

why is it that my fellow clan members both joined CB2 around december 15-20 2005 and now they are in rivendell.

and it has just hit a month for both of them.

is the way people are put into realms wrong by the wiki?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] January 19 2006 2:49 AM EST

I always thought you got into rivendell after a month..

Undertow January 19 2006 3:05 AM EST

yah, wiki is wrong. WRONG!

Flamey January 19 2006 3:06 AM EST

oh, forgot to add that they were rivendell in under a month

PirateKing January 19 2006 3:11 AM EST

I guess Rivendell is one of those very "selective" communities. :P

AdminShade January 19 2006 3:34 AM EST

did they buy a character Flamey?

Flamey January 19 2006 7:49 PM EST

you have probably changed it, but no there character was created same time as there user

Kefeck [Demonic Serenity] January 19 2006 7:56 PM EST

Yeah I pretty much purchased my way into gondor.

PirateKing January 20 2006 1:22 AM EST

Odd. I've been sent to Rivendell today and I've not been registered a month yet.

Xiaz on Hiatus January 20 2006 1:26 AM EST

Do Realms even have a purpose?

AdminShade January 20 2006 1:31 AM EST

yes, realms have a purpose, or at least i think that they do, check the wiki for my explanation on realms :)

PirateKing January 20 2006 1:41 AM EST

Hey Shade... I read over the Wiki about Realms and this stood out:

"Rivendell: You will be in Rivendell when you have played more than 1 but less than 6 months."

Not to pick at nits, but like I said above; I've not been registered a month yet, but was placed in Rivendell today. Is there some other factor at work to determine when a realm change occurs?

AdminShade January 20 2006 7:28 AM EST

The character you own, if you bought it from another player who has played it for a month or longer then you will be placed in Rivendell also

AdminShade January 20 2006 7:37 AM EST

"If you have a character that's older than your account, then that character's age is used instead."

As stated in the wiki already, though if you haven't bought a character the realms are a bit differently divided perhaps...

JAFO January 20 2006 9:14 AM EST

I created my character (did NOT buy him) when I started. I was in Rivendell 2 weeks later. So yeah, Wiki must be wrong.

PirateKing January 20 2006 9:20 AM EST

Likewise. All of my characters were created by myself and not purchased. There must be something else that comes into play when determining a realm change.

QBRanger January 20 2006 9:34 AM EST

Just look at Mikel.

He is already in Gondor and has not gotten a character from someone else.

QBJohnnywas January 20 2006 9:46 AM EST

Mikel has a character that was created on Jan 1st 2005. That's why he's in Gondor.

AdminShade January 20 2006 10:24 AM EST

@ Jafo and PirateKing, perhaps going to Rivendell happens when you are 2 weeks old, I should look into it.

@ Ranger: Render owned by mikel.

AdminShade January 20 2006 10:37 AM EST

Ok done some looking around in Rivendell:

Pirateking
A member of Carnage Blender 2 since December 30, 2005.
Realm: Rivendell

HoTbOyOuTsHiNyA
A member of Carnage Blender 2 since January 4, 2006.
Realm: Shire

So within 5 days hotboy should go to Rivendell.

now, checking how many days / weeks that it is:

you: 21 days, hotboy 16 days.

So it has to be 3 weeks, if you turned to Rivendell today :)
