blacksmith (in Changelog)

AdminJonathan June 30 2006 7:27 PM EDT

Weapon dmg improvements are now instant, like ammo upgrades.

[T]Vestax June 30 2006 7:30 PM EDT

Seems like Sefton is stuck for the time being. :)

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] June 30 2006 9:03 PM EDT

omg, my MH was at 75% RPM on the X, can there be anything done for that? Becase that took me a wasted week to get it there from 0%....

AdminNightStrike June 30 2006 9:49 PM EDT

how is forging affected?

Caedmon [Revenge of the Forgers] June 30 2006 10:03 PM EDT

Forging efficiency isn't. Demand, however...

Flamey June 30 2006 10:03 PM EDT

badly, the rates are going to have to drop a lot.

AdminJonathan June 30 2006 10:23 PM EDT

RPM was taking into account when generating the new xDmg values.

YNM July 1 2006 12:52 AM EDT

Heh, forging armor is still on!

Bolfen July 1 2006 8:02 AM EDT

I don't see why this affects forging demand at all. Was the blacksmith time really a factor in people wanting to forge instead? I doubt it. Money is the primary driver.

If forging is still cheaper than BS and it sounds like it will be, then it still makes sense to forge.

Wasp July 1 2006 10:36 AM EDT

Forging efficiency still needs to be increased. As it stands forging is really only worth it if you are upgrading your own gear or if someone is upgrading it for you.

[T]Vestax July 1 2006 11:31 AM EDT

What other kind of forging is there Wasp??

Wasp July 1 2006 2:38 PM EDT

You what??

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] July 2 2006 9:31 PM EDT

yea it messed up the times alot, cuz i went on my normal day not knowing the changes, and the dwarf kicked me only after like 30 minutes of heating the X on my MH.

AdminShade July 4 2006 4:56 AM EDT

Can we now perhaps also have a drop down menu of 10 upgrades instead of just 7?

I mean with the now low damage upgrade cost of weapons, it would be nicer to have a more wide choice of how high to upgrade, another X10 more only costs 60-90k.

QBJohnnywas July 4 2006 5:20 AM EDT

Yeah, bigger dropdown, bigger dropdown. If you've enough money to upgrade by 33 times for instance, doing seven at a time is a pain.

But then Johnnywas is lazy...

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] July 4 2006 8:34 AM EDT

perhaps for weapons an "other" option, similar to the training page, where you can type in the desired "x" enchantment and use that instead of the dropdown?

AdminG Beee July 12 2006 2:56 AM EDT

Instant improvement doesn't feel quite right imo.
I can imagine, on entering the forge, the dwarf saying. "I'll be right with ya sonny, just go to the back of the queue and as soon as I'm done with everyone that was in before you, you'll get your weapon upgraded."

Keep the upgrade of multiple x's "instant", but if there's a 1hr wait because people are in the forge first - let's make the upgrade "instant + 1hr" please.

{Quitter}Gah July 12 2006 3:49 AM EDT

cause you can't queue 100 x's that have to wait an hour... but why does it matter anyways how long you wait... most people just queue it right before they log off if they have to wait..

AdminShade July 12 2006 3:51 AM EDT

or make ANY damage modifier upgrade, being 1x or 7x just cost the same time, 4 minutes. This way you still have to think about when to put it in.

{Quitter}Gah July 12 2006 3:56 AM EDT

I just bought about 140 x's on an elbow (yes call me stupid) but should i really have to wait til the end of the queue 20 times?

Karmic Mishap [Soup Ream] July 12 2006 7:41 PM EDT

No, but you should have to wait till the end of the queue ONCE. Maybe you could enter the number of X you want up front, and if you can afford it, it would go into the queue.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] July 13 2006 3:10 PM EDT

when are we going to be able to upgrade the ammo again?
I like some PTH on my bolts and some more damage.
Or is it RIP for upgrading ammo?
Im just wondering.

stevebat July 15 2006 9:58 AM EDT

i agree we need to bring back ammo upgrading

AdminShade July 15 2006 11:11 AM EDT

It hardly matters if you have X1 or X20 on ammo atm, so just keep on using the same small ammo you have.

Additionally, if you want more + on your ammo, consider using the blacksmith to upgrade the + on your weapon instead.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] July 15 2006 11:16 AM EDT

Shade the + on ammo is cheaper then on the weapons and for a short time solution it better to hold upgrading (worthless) bows and xbows until you get a good ranged weapon (like elb exbow axbow etc). And i had battles were i needed the extra PTH on the ammo. Ii didnt had the cash to up the ranged weapon. So give at least the option back to up the PTH on ammo

AdminShade July 15 2006 12:10 PM EDT

If you need the + upgrades on ammo, then the only solution atm is saving the cash for the + upgrade on your ranged weapon...

AdminShade July 15 2006 2:12 PM EDT

I think every weapon should now be allowed to be upgraded through the blacksmith.

Additionally imo the upgrade costs of the lower base damage weapons should be lower, reasons:

To bring more competitiveness of the common weapons.
To even the field at least a bit and make smaller weapons useful again.

QBOddBird July 15 2006 3:49 PM EDT

I agree with Shade.
