My choice for QB (in General)

Does not look like my choice for QB is going to make it this quarter. Which is of course fine. I want to say up front, this post does not mean I think any of the other candidates are undeserving. They are ALL fine choices, and a case can be made for each and every one of them.

That said I wanted to make a post to toast one candidate in particular, Slayer333

Why? Why make this post, because I want to and the nature of Slayer is such that he wishes all the good about CB1 and CB2 be remembered, but often does not include his own role.

Slayer started CB2 Dec 27th of 2005, which is to say as soon as humanly possible. He has been active in chat and post from day 1. On the very few times I have entered chat of late, one face I have seen every time was Slayers. Yes, I was looking for it, but yes he was there every time.

He played and loved CB1 with a passion. A passion that did not die even after CB2 was created and CB1 was cut off. He, with a few others, was intrumental in making the few remaining days of CB1 as fun as possible. He has taken that passion, remembered CB1, but brought it here to CB2.

Not everyone who played CB1 can make that claim, I being one of them.

I can go on, to the great embarrassment of Slayer, which is part of the reason he is so deserving. In the end, I think I will just make this one last point. Look at his wiki changes.....

You embody the community. You are the spirit of what makes CB a community and a good one. You may not get the official recognition from a title, but your effort, your enthusiasm, your good nature, is recognized by me, and if anyone bothers to read all of this, perhaps recognized by others as well :)

Slayer is also one of the few people that regularly keeps NP in order.

I would just like to add that of all the vets in this game he was the most helpful to me as a noob where others at times had a more condescending tone he was always very approachable and friendly.

And this coming from my previous choice(s) for QB.

However, this award is Quarter Blender and Slayer has been very quite as of late. If the award was Yearly Blender then I would say Slayer has an inside track.

But, Well said (QB)Sefton!

QB is not a popularity contest: the poll is just one of the deciding factors.

I think a well motivated nomination (even if it's a little late ;) is more important than getting as many votes as possible...

I was just about to mention that bartjan =D. I never knew Slayer that well, but then I was also only active in CB1 for like... a few weeks. So in that case,

I would like to say some things about Slayer ;)

Like Sefton said, he is always there. Always in good spirits and ready to help. He does his best to make this game fun, and we could use alot more players like him. Oddly enough, he isn't in chat right now, but when he is I give him a nice, sound carping.

He helps new players as much as he can. He has never, ever, abused his op powers against anyone to my knowledge. I like to think he loves the game, not because he gets some thrill from being the best, but because he just likes everything about it.

Okay, not my best work, but, basically, Slayer rocks.

Slayer is a great guy and a great competitor, as he will know from CB1 :P. He deserves more credit then he gets. Hats off.

This not being a popularity contest, I will try to separate my personal feelings from my game observations. Slayer has always had an answer to any question I've put forth. If he did not have the answer, he would find out. He could rattle off history of CB like no one else. He would get excited about strat discussions, helping new people, building CB up, and always enjoying the game no matter what turn it took.
Now for my personal feelings. Yes, they don't belong here, but I don't really care if anyone objects. :) Slayer is more intelligent than many so called adults. He is careful with his words, tries to not harm others, has a positive outlook on life, and a budding musician (haha). Even though I strayed from CB, slayer followed me. He made sure that we talk daily. I love slayer, he's my lil punkchild even though he denies it the child part.
