Goodnight CB. (in Public Record)

YNM August 10 2006 8:28 PM EDT

Yup, I, YNM am officially joining the list of people whom have left this game. Sadly though I cannot stay long enough to pay off my debts to Pixel_Sage, my apologies to you.

As I take my leave I'd like to thank:

Slayer333 for providing me some cash and help during my stay here. You've been a good man and are one of the few people on CB whom I actually respect.

Sefton for just being a great player overall...not much to really say about ya.

Redwolf for being a friend, and the host of trivia. One of the funniest subparts of CB.

GodWolf for being generally fun to talk to, and argue with. You did a great thing making the fund.

Gun, for being a jerk. ;P Still love ya though.

GPV for being the best of the Bots.

Ann for opening my eyes to corruption.

Darkpixie for being the best mentor a newb could have.

And finally Jon for making what used to be a great game.

Goodnight Cb...

SBW August 10 2006 8:30 PM EDT

say ty to me for letting you forge my items ^^ DON'T LEAVE!!!

YNM August 10 2006 8:32 PM EDT

Oh yeah, don't reset me until SirBubbleWrap's ELB goes back.

SBW August 10 2006 8:33 PM EDT

it came back like 5 hours ago >.>

Tezmac August 10 2006 8:45 PM EDT

"Sadly though I cannot stay long enough to pay off my debts to Pixel_Sage, my apologies to you."

Jerk, good riddance.

SBW August 10 2006 8:47 PM EDT

hey, leave him alone Tez... Max left with my 12m and there was interest. He's at 500m+ now... it's been over a year. I didn't complain after he left, so I suggest you don't insult YNM.

deifeln August 10 2006 8:48 PM EDT

Tez is right to insult YNM. Anyone who leaves with 6.5 million in debt is a jerk.

YNM August 10 2006 8:50 PM EDT

I apologize to Pixel, and I'm sorry you see me that way, although I understand why and figured it was coming.

SBW August 10 2006 8:50 PM EDT

nobody said that to Max...and he left with more than 6.5m

Maelstrom August 10 2006 8:52 PM EDT

Max was an admin... we assumed he'd be back.

QBRanger August 10 2006 8:52 PM EDT

People had massive issues with Max.

And just because Max did it, does NOT make it right for you to do it.

Tez is 100% right, so long Jerk.

Ox [StephenMelinda Gates Fund] August 10 2006 8:55 PM EDT

just another Disciple of Monty

YNM August 10 2006 9:02 PM EDT

Whatever.

Pixel, if i'm just reset I promise to come back someday to pay you off.

Misfit August 10 2006 9:05 PM EDT

"Sadly though I cannot stay long enough to pay off my debts to Pixel_Sage, my apologies to you."

Whoa! Thats just wrong! Why are you going to take advantage of Pixel like that?

YNM August 10 2006 9:08 PM EDT

I have tried for months to pay off pixel yet it just seems as if i'm carving a city with a chisel. And I've been around long enough to know that I will be here till late december if I want to pay him off.

Taking advantage is the last thing I ever wanted to do.

QBRanger August 10 2006 9:11 PM EDT

Yea,

Ever thought about selling everything you have, including your characters in an attempt to pay Pixel back?

Or are you such a Jerk to not even try.

You took the loan out, pay it back. If you have to sell CD's to get USD to buy CB2, do it.

Sell real life stuff, but be a human being and not a Monty - pay your debts off!!

Blondebabygirl12 August 10 2006 9:21 PM EDT

Dude don't do this to Pixel sage. He just had ABA walk off with 15 mil +. At least try to sell your stuff, or just give him your stuff and the char, but please don't do this to him.

SBW August 10 2006 9:24 PM EDT

aye. you better pay sage off. that's all I'm saying...but try to immitate losers like ABA and monty. And this is from your friend too man. Good luck in real life, but pay him back.

QBRanger August 10 2006 9:28 PM EDT

Just to set the record correct with SBW. He stated that he was not paid by Max when he left.

This is incorrect as pointed out in this thread:
http://www.carnageblender.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=001PdU

And the Max situation of different as pointed out many times in the past.

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] August 10 2006 9:40 PM EDT

YNM, Do you understand that you leaving this way will ruin whatever reputation you had previously? That wall of rememberance will say nothing about you being a great forger. How do you want to be remembered?

If you're going to let that silly episode between you and ranger get to you this way, by doing this what are you accomplishing? You're not hurting ranger at all! You're screwing over Pixel when he has nothing to do with this.

I strongly suggest you make an effort to pay Pixel off. I mean, Hell, You aren't even making up any kind of excuse as to why you can't pay him back. If it means staying here until december you had better do it. Pixel is a good guy and does't deserve to be scammed of his money a second time.

YNM, You're not thinking clearly and think you should consider rethinking this decision you're making.

/me sighs. Didn't think i had that much to say...Lol.

th00p August 10 2006 10:12 PM EDT

Leon, I believe you mean for a third time. ABA and Genie both left in the middle of 15mil + loans from Pixel. It hurts to see someone so kind go down as he is, for no other reason that the idiots he deals with can't bother to return his generosity.

th00p August 10 2006 10:18 PM EDT

Also forgot to mention the over 1mil Dudley had from him when he was banned, and the 2.4mil or so that (MM)Joey has, who hasn't logged in for over 2 weeks. Total scamming now of Pixel has exceeded $400 USD, which is far beyond any human should have to suffer through. YNM, be a man and do the right thing, don't give up because you don't feel motivated anymore.

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] August 10 2006 10:25 PM EDT

Th00p, I was unaware of those as i didn't see them in any previous posts.

I'd also like to point out, if memory servers. I do recall Pixel speaking Very Highly about YNM and his great credit.

Ynm, You're about to ruin your name and a good friendship that you and pixel had. Don't you remember him speaking highly about you? I can't remember exactly what he said, but you most certainly should. Pixel trusted you more than any other person he loaned to.

Only a fool would throw away such trust.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 10 2006 10:27 PM EDT

I've offered a way out of this mess, YNM was fighting a losing battle with debt, if you've ever found yourself it this situation, it can be very frustrating, especially if you find yourself treading water instead of making headway.

th00p August 10 2006 10:30 PM EDT

This, Leon?

Pixel Sage: "Do not ever loan out large sums of money, especially without a collateral. Even if its people you trust, they may (yet again) lose interest in the game and just leave. The only person I'd trust again with loaning out tons of money is YNM. He has the best credit out of anyone who's ever loaned from me. I loaned him around 15mil, and he's still paying me back."

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] August 10 2006 10:38 PM EDT

yes, Th00p that is it.

Novice, but he isn't about to make any attempt to sell his character or his stuff. Which could most definatily pay off most of his debt. Before you leave YNM, Xfer your character to pixel and I myself will pay the Xfer. Pixel and I will discuss this further. If you choose to do so.

Sure debt sucks and its hard to catch up when you're in head over heals. However, i don't and will not be sympathetic to him because he was the one that accepted the conditions of the loan. He knew the terms. It was his own decisions that put him where he is now.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 10 2006 10:40 PM EDT

He has been trying to sell the char, I wasn't interested, however I'd rather see this end well, I've already made an offer to pay off the debt in exchange for the char, if you think pixel actually wants the char, then go ahead.

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] August 10 2006 10:52 PM EDT

My thoughts about the char was to sell it for profit or at least a little income. That's all. If you want the char and will pay the debts. Then Great!

For the record, YNM isnt that bad of a guy and i wasn't trying to insult him. Instead i was trying to wake him up and let him realize what he was doing.

kevinLeong August 10 2006 10:58 PM EDT

I agree with Ranger, you should buy CBD with USD to pay Pixel back, especially since CBD has market value. You are essentially cheating Pixel out of $65 he could make selling the cash you took out with that loan.

Its just a matter of freaking principals. Do the right thing.

QBOddBird August 11 2006 12:02 AM EDT

If someone loans you a hundred bucks in your time of need, you don't just walk off with it because it isn't worth the effort to pay them back.

I'll miss ya YNM, but don't leave a thief.

QBsutekh137 August 11 2006 12:14 AM EDT

And perhaps Pixel should rein back the lending? Anyone who loans that many millions is bound to get burned. Sorry, can't help but be the voice of reason, no matter what the level of dissent.

QBsutekh137 August 11 2006 12:19 AM EDT

Just so you know where I stand, I work for a collections law firm. Sure, the debtors are garbage. Except for the little old ladies on Social Security that Capital One decided to give a $10,000 line of credit to at 21.5% interest. Or the 20 year old student with a $4500 student loan default. Maybe the 25 year old guy on disability who ran up his Mastercard?

The debtors have no excuse, to be sure. Debt it terrible. But lenders have a responsibility too, yes? Especially here where the waters run deep (and shallow).

I've loaned massive sums of money to a CB player who shall remain nameless. Something in the 8 figures at times. I _know_ he is good for it. Two years of heritage make me not think twice. Lending millions on anything less -- well, "at your own risk" starts to ring a bell at some point, no?

aBrAcAdABrA August 11 2006 12:40 AM EDT

I feel bad for Pixel :(, although it seems my comment wont mean much, I think you, YNM, should give Pixel everything you have before you wave your last goodbye..!

YNM August 11 2006 12:47 AM EDT

Don't reset me yet. I have a little something up my sleeve that may make you all stop whining.

YNM August 11 2006 12:51 AM EDT

I'm talking to novice now...I don't want to leave a theif, and it hurt me to even attempt to leave like that.

By the way, how in the world did I forget to mention you Leon?

Vaynard [Fees Dirt Cheap] August 11 2006 1:16 AM EDT

Pixel is a great guy, and I hate to see him get burned. But I am sure you've heard enough people chew you out, so I won't start. I can only wish you will do your best to pay him back before you go. Best of luck in real life outside of CB though!

Goodfish August 11 2006 1:23 AM EDT

I have to agree with sutehk, but I also have to be much more blunt.

Cheating someone on CB is like being a PK-er in Diablo- it's annoying, but it's certainly not illegal. People have always taken CB too literally. It's just a game- if you lose fifty million in CB, who cares?

I mean, why would YNM sell CDs, a real-life commodity, just so he wouldn't be branded a thief by people he'll never see in real life, and will probably never even encounter, on the 'net or otherwise, for the rest of his life? Sure, it'd be nice to be noble, but sometimes we don't have time... or the motivation.

End all be all- it's his call, regardless of how much you rip on him for it.

aBrAcAdABrA August 11 2006 1:31 AM EDT

The idea is that CB items/money are/is worth money in "real life" off of the 'net.

"if you lose fifty million in CB, who cares?" I think the true answer to that is easily answered if you just look upwards in the post, a lot of people care, 1) because Pixel is well-liked, and 2) 6.5 million is worth, what, 60$? And 60$ is something, for sure, even off of the 'net.

Plus, fifty million is a little under 500$ worth.

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] August 11 2006 1:32 AM EDT

That's right! How did you forget me!? lol

Anyway, I'm glad you're talking to novice and if that doesnt work out feel free to CM me and we'll work something out there for sure. I don't want Novice to feel so obligated to help you out.

Good! My respect for you isn't going to be shreded after all. Best of luck in RL and you better send me a cm every once in awhile. (Since i'm rarely in chat now days)

Take Care.

Goodfish August 11 2006 1:36 AM EDT

The only reason CB stuff is worth anything in real life is because people are easily hooked, and once they're addicted, you can't stop them. People like CB, and there are many people who have spent literally thousands of dollars on this game, but that is completely unnecessary. CB has USD value because people are lazy. In truth, it has NO value... much like the paper we print money on. It's completely worthless, it's just that everyone has given it a set value. Except CB isn't really government-regulated, and more small-scale than the US economy.

I'm seventeen and I make sixty dollars in a good day at work. If someone gets upset over losing sixty dollars' equivalent in a virtual game... well, it's understandable, but from my point of view, completely ridiculous.

The fifty million remark was just a way of saying... "CB cash isn't REAL cash". That's all. You're putting a value to it, one that it doesn't really possess.

QBsutekh137 August 11 2006 2:54 AM EDT

True, but one can still take affront at a flippant attitude.

CyBorgin (good to see you, by the way!), even "real" money is just "something that someone will consider valuable". There is no gold standard behind cash (like that would matter anyway...what if I don't like gold?) -- it's all just numbers. What an economy comes down to, at the very barest minimum, is respect.

I think all the posts on this thread come down to one thing: showing respect for Pixel as an asset to this community, and wanting Seth to tone down the whole "screw you all" attitude. I (as well as you) have muddied the waters with our "yeah, but" arguments, but defending Pixel and wanting someone to pay their debts are still admirable goals, I should think. *smile*

AdminShade August 11 2006 6:47 AM EDT

you also forgot me, shame on you ynm... :)

hope we'll see you back again soon, you can't miss us!

NSFY August 11 2006 10:30 AM EDT

"Don't reset me yet. I have a little something up my sleeve that may make you all stop whining."

What a [Admin. Edit: Non-PG; fined $50K]! You started the whole whiny thread and announce that you are walking out on millions in debt? If it looks like one, sounds like one, and smells like one, guess what - it probably is one.

/snorts like a donkey

STOP STARTLING MY GOAT!

YNM August 11 2006 11:34 AM EDT

Please don't assume I have a screw you attitude, I don't i'm just amazed that people come in here and nearly carbon copy people post inthe way they attack me. Yes, I know it is unfair for me to leave pixel while I still owe him 6.5mil of my 15mil loan, thank you very much, I believe I said that in my first post. And I also understand that I can't exactly tell you all to stop atacking me, cause that would out of place.

I guess I'm sorta trying to say...stop attacking me and I won't seem like I have a screw you attitude. I've been here for 2 years and I really have nothing against any of you, please stop trying to change that.

Shadehpoo, thanks.

QBRanger August 11 2006 1:01 PM EDT

You try to leave with a 6.5M debt and are upset people are attacking you.

What a muppet!

QBsutekh137 August 11 2006 1:13 PM EDT

Fined Ranger $14 for using the word "muppet". That is all.

Maelstrom August 11 2006 1:13 PM EDT

I don't think YNM should leave while still in debt, but by attacking him like this, you're not helping. You'll all just make him leave for good.

Give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he can work some magic.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] August 11 2006 1:17 PM EDT

He already has...

YNM August 11 2006 1:23 PM EDT

Well, thank you novice for your help in letting leave with a semi-clean slate.

It's been fun cb. Goodnight, and good luck.

See ya'll around the bend sometime.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] August 11 2006 3:24 PM EDT

Bye, YNM. Thank you, Nov. You're a peach!
