not sure if its been mentioned before or suggested but the spell checker stops words like HG's. Is there anyway of getting equipment abrevations like that added to the list of allowed words.

I guess the reply will be stop being lazy and write Helm's Gauntlets but thought id ask

I'd volunteer to add some of the abbreviations if need be, but we'll see if Jon thinks it's necessary.

For the most part, you can use <nospellcheck> in your post (use the HTML selection!) and it will ignore any spelling errors within the tag. The only thing I don't think you can use this on is for the thread titles.

Actually, after toying around with the spellchecker, using the abbreviation without plurals works nicely. In other words, use "HG" instead of "HGs" or "HG's". In addition, typing "aoi" and "aom" won't pass the spellchecker; use the proper way of naming them: AoI and AoM -- they get passed. I'd suggest just messing around with the equipment names every now and then without making threads by previewing the page and seeing if the spellcheck can pass the particular word or not.

well atleast it wasn't the stop being lazy response.
Will give the HTML selection ago again tomorrow but last time i tried it the post didn't come out like i expected so haven't tried again

Changing your reply text to HTML will cause all of your line breaks to fall apart. Use <BR><BR> or <P> between sections of text for spacing in your post.

Items like HG and DB are already pluralised in the original name therefore making a plural of them is grammatically incorrect so leave out the s and you'll be fine :)

Although it would be nice if the spellchecker accepted "English" spellings ;)

There's TMA in CB ATM IMHO anyway.

Shade,

You may want to put in the amulets to the abbreviations list.

Based on that list of abbreviations from the CB lexicon at CBstuff, the following are not recognized by CB (I've bolded those which I think really should be added):

after seeing that list im almost tempted to agree with G.

If you did add all those thanks!

Wow, I wonder if we have passed D2 or EQ in number of Acronyms yet. In that case, I would have to say TMA in CB as it is.
