The two things that come to mind right now:

a) Ammo upgrades: please bring it back! I would love it for a reasonable price once again.

b) Cap DB's: right now a mage can sink all his cash into a pair and neutralize any amount of DX and PTH and thus any tank without insane PTH. Why not add a cap of say 50% to the amount of DX that can be "neutered"? Thus, a tank doesn't have 1.3million DX become useless against 0 DX, and a mage can still learn Evasion and have an imaginary DX advantage. DB's will still be a great advantage, but just not completely overpowering and able to shut off DX.

We can all agree on the need for ammos upgrades. Interesting idea Vay but more leeway is needed namely for the mages. Would like to see a DD drainer still. I'd like to see some changes to the economic clans that will enable a user to take some time out of the CB fighting arena and earn a genuine amount of cash that will enable him to jump back into the arena with a suitable amount of cash for an NCB run.

Some kind of economic NCB is what I mean. x months in an economic environment that will allow you to turn your effort into a real chance to create a viable NCB character to aim for the top 10 of the fight ladder without needing USD.
Economic rewards would have to be generated in a fashion that makes it impossible to just be in it for a quick CB / USD transaction at the end. I dunno, you get a % of returns as tokens that can only be used to buy BA and the tokens can't be transferred...?

I have no idea how to control/implement such a thing but hey, you asked what I wanted to see not how I suggest it works...

Shoot for the stars and you may just end up hitting the moon :)

Well I notice alot of people give suggestions that would help their strategies. Not all but alot of them. Tanks complain about DB, SM teams complain about multi minion teams. So I do the opposite. I will pick what will hurt me the most.

A slight increase to EC so that it becomes at least more usable in a tank ridden world.

Make it so that VB only has it's cut a certain percentage of the time. Whenever it "snicker-snacks"! That would make it more fun anyways. Though you would want to lower or increase the cutting rate depending on frequency of the reduction.

Increase a ToE's resistance to magic. Diversify who is using it.

Reverse the effect of a ToA. Give the DX the priority. With weapons so strong really make the tanks PAY for the damage, not just pop a ToA on one.

Reduce normal shield penalties for kites. They are almost unusable right now and I would LOVE the extra AC of a mith kite if it didn't cost me insane DX. Also would help mages if they didn't effect DD or enchantments so much!

Races. I know it won't get done but I still fine it fun.

Now stuff that just realllyyy helps me.

Forging skill for an account. Not just a character but a skill viewable from the account name page. Would help alot and would keep the balance in the game.

Increas spawning of base lesser tattoos. Would help alot of new players and vets using farms. Reduce prices on existing lesser ones that spawn into store.

1) Nerf DB's so they can't make people invincible.
2) Make some mage equipment that, when worn, protects against physical damage (works like Tulkas, each point adds a percentage of physical damage blocked), at the expense of amplifying magic damage done to the mage (FB, MM, CoC, GA, AMF) The equipment also negates any skills the user may have, and gives a penalty to STR and DX of say.. 30% or so, yeah try wearing that Mr. Tank :)
3) One word: Potions!

I would like to see transfer fee for character reduced to only 50 k everytime you transfer it, no additional cost, the transfer fee for the character is seriously ridiculous right now, and the NCB fee to create a big one is crazy.

I just sold my character and it was top 5, Kaiser which cost around 25 mil CB2 and precious time to create for only 7 mil and I still have to pay the transfer fee which is almost 2 mil or around that which is VERY VERY LOW.

I really don't think we need this kind of cash sink, the NCB itself is already huge cash sink and now with tank blender theme going on, more stuff to upgrade which means more cash sink than ever.

I believe a more effective magic missile during ranged rounds, and disable the melee magic missile rounds, as it is a missile. This would enable an effect close to that of CoC, in which you can have a melee weapon on magi, similar to the ability to have a ranged weapon on a CoC mage. Do i make any sense here?

new skill then: Arcane Channelling....

Converts DD trained into psuedo STR during rounds the mage isn't firing, adds to physical damage done with a melee or ranged weapon, does 1/4 of normal DD damage with each hit. The weapon attack acts as a vessel for the DD attack, eliminating AMF blowback.

So it's a skill that only works with one DD spell? Hmm... that'd be more viable if ranged DD spells were overridden by melee weapons. Like, if you equip a sword and fireball, then you'll use the sword in melee and fireball in ranged. If you equip a bow and fireball, you'll use the bow in ranged and the fireball in melee. Then, the skill adds flexibility instead of being a required counterpart to magic missile.

1 - A new item and/or a new spell/skill. These are probably the toughest things on the wish list, because they can so easily upset game balance. Still, this is exactly what can keep a game like CB fresh. The Amulets, especially the AoI, have been a breath of fresh air. Even though they didn't have near the same impact as the physical damage mod, I feel they have actually added more to the game, since you now have an extra aspect of strategy to manage.

2 - Exp for forging? There has already been a thread where we have discussed pros and cons, and details of how this could work.

I know I already had one post with a couple of suggestions, but I just thought of a GOOD one. I would love to see a change to auctions. They work fine as is, but far too many players are discouraged when what they see as a reasonable bid is undone at the last second by an automated bidder. Here are a few solutions I see:

a) Have the auto bid occur 2 hours before the auction ends. Change it so auctions must last 3 hours minimum (if not already).
b) Notification: add a page to confirm your bid on an auction instead of a pop-up. On that page, show if the bid you are making is enough to avoid an Auctioneer bid. This lets a person go back and increase their bid until it is enough if they cannot re-bid later.
c) If an auction ends at below market value, let the auctioneer buy it and immediately place it back in the auctions for another day. Interested players can bid it up if they wish, and after a day it could be deleted. Everyone's happy.

I hope one of those sounds workable. Anyone agree?

A quick idea for Bow and Crossbow changes.

Traditionally, Crossbows are easier to use, slower, have shorter range and pack more of a punch than bows (a generalisation)

So;

First, change the base dex chance to hit, much like melee weapons. Crossbows have 2-H base, Bows 1-H.

Change crossbows to attack on rounds 2 and three (and fire on every round in melee), leave Bows attakcing every other round from round 1 unless arhcery is trained (but have the benefits of archer continue into melee).

Crossbow damage is probably fine, they do slightly more damage than Bows (apart from the ELBow), maybe add a new Crossbow that is on par with ELBow damage.

Add peircing (Like the VB) as an ammo choice, but reduce the base damage on the ammo. Give Crossbows an innate for of this (not as powerful as the VB. Maybe a fixed reduction instead of a percentage?).

Just some ideas. :P

I beg to differ. Both are 2 handed weapons.
But the rest is true. Crossbows pack more punch. But generally bows
have larger range.
Adding piercing damage to a crossbow should bring back the balance between bows and xbows.

And xbows doing more damage then bows is not true even a
compound bow does more damage then a xbow of the same lvl.
The only real difference is the base damage of the ammo.

but we have ELB has highest by 2 points against X-bows, so 2 bows are better than x-bows, a bit outta whack there.

Actually, a little more thought on this.

" Although some crossbows (ancient or modern) are drawn using only the unassisted arm strength of the archer, more powerful crossbows required some sort of mechanical device to draw the string. These drawing mechanisms were of many different forms, using levers, ratchets and pulleys in various ways. The use of these devices allowed soldiers to use and fire weapons with a draw force far in excess of what they could have handled with a bow. In the later years of the crossbow it had enough kinetic energy to penetrate any chainmail and most plate armor hit squarely: some reached a draw force of nearly 350 lbf (1600 N), compared to the 60-180lbf (300-900 N) draw force for a longbow. Add a new crossbow (called something like a Windlass) that does a lot of damage.

Could also add a repeating crossbow (see below).

Although crossbows don't have the range of Bows, we could simulate the ability to keep them nocked some how.

How about having Bows use the 1-H base chance to hit and fire every other round from round 1.

While Crossbows fire every other round from round 2 of ranged, use the 2-H base chance to hit, have innate AC reduction and gain a single extra attack in the second round to range to simulate them being nocked.

The repeating crossbow, while keeping the base 2-H chance to hit would be able to fire every round (including melee) from the second round of ranged.

As for slings, keep them as they are now. Attack on every ranged round (from 1) but give slings the 1-H base chance to hit and sling staves the 2-H one. :)

In general, a sling bullet lobbed in a high trajectory could achieve an effective range of around 200 meters — significantly farther than most bows of the period, the arrows of which were usually loosed along relatively flat trajectories that seldom managed to send them beyond 100 meters. I have to jump on board with those looking for some change in the auction set up. I just don't like losing an item to an automated bid. I would have gladly paid that amount had I known it would take just a few thousand more. The guessing game is annoying. Besides, the point of an auction for a buyer is to pay as little as possible right?

Miandrital, you can see what Central Bank will bid. If the current bid on the item is less than the average price of the item, then Central Bank will bid the next increment. That is all.

I don't know how many times Jon has explained this, but it makes sense to me: it's to protect the seller; to help ensure that they get an amount closer to the value of the item.

I wish that this change month, Jon would make it so people couldn't keep asking the same questions over and over :P
Or maybe just add this "kill the autobidder" request to the FORS list...
