New supporter item: Amulet of Focus (in Changelog)

AdminJonathan September 22 2006 11:37 PM EDT

Pretty much what the Items Overview says.

One point of clarification: "all enchantments experienced" does NOT mean "all enchantments cast." Any enchantment cast on this minion will have its effective level increased. (Post-DM, if any. DM itself is not affected.)

horseguy001 [Blender 2021] September 22 2006 11:40 PM EDT

Interesting item :D

I wonder by how much the enchantment gets boosted...

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] September 22 2006 11:40 PM EDT

Can we buy them yet?

AdminJonathan September 22 2006 11:40 PM EDT

horseguy: that's in the overview

Miandrital September 22 2006 11:45 PM EDT

Pretty cool item to cap off a great changemonth. :)

AdminJonathan September 22 2006 11:45 PM EDT

"Available immediately!" as Steve Jobs likes to say.

horseguy001 [Blender 2021] September 22 2006 11:48 PM EDT

I'm somewhat embarased to say I don't know how to get to that :(

lol do I still get to say I'm new around here?

AdminJonathan September 22 2006 11:49 PM EDT

np, just go to stats -> items -> overview from the sidebar

horseguy001 [Blender 2021] September 22 2006 11:49 PM EDT

ok thanks

though I will probobly send 6 bucks over anyways regardless of what it does :D

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] September 22 2006 11:56 PM EDT

Interesting. Looks particularly nice for those RoS users preferring PL to GA.

TrueDevil [AAA] September 22 2006 11:57 PM EDT

Joy ! Finally, 2nd supporter item for Mage/enchanter type. :)

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] September 22 2006 11:58 PM EDT

Looks like an awful item for mages Devil

(CB1)logan666 [Jago] September 22 2006 11:59 PM EDT

Actually this could hurt your mage if he is wearing it against AMF. Atleast that is what I am understanding.

A Lesser AR of 15 [Red Permanent Assurance] September 23 2006 12:17 AM EDT

AS, GS, Protection, oh my..... excellent turn for RoSs.

QBBarzooMonkey September 23 2006 12:25 AM EDT

Oh, what a glorious changemonth it has been...

:)

Flamey September 23 2006 12:29 AM EDT

Go UC!!!!

AdminNightStrike September 23 2006 12:37 AM EDT

I guess this means that a minion wearing this is much more vulnerable to AMF and EC. Yes, this seems good for UC backed by AS from someone else wearing an RoS. It should probably be accompanied by DM to fight off the incoming EC.

QBOddBird September 23 2006 12:53 AM EDT

This is going to be fantastic. Jon, you've wow'd me again. =D

UC = love this changemonth.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 23 2006 3:36 AM EDT

:D I think I get this....

It will increase your minions skill, BL, Evasion, UC or PL.

If this minion has AMF or EC cast on it, they will be increased as well, but not DM?

If this minion has GS, Haste, VA, Prot, GA, AS (well all the EDs) cast on it, they will be increased (for that minion only, so it would get a bigger bonus from AS then the rest of your team).

Is this how it works?

Flamey September 23 2006 3:43 AM EDT

spot on GL! i see you've learned :P

NS: you can't dispel AMF or EC or any EO for that matter only ED.

Silatt September 23 2006 4:11 AM EDT

Hehe, I want one, I just don't know how to implement it in my strat yet.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 23 2006 4:13 AM EDT

wow...

I'm interested in the increase in AMF or EC however, that's quite a painful draw back. Why do we think it increases skills?

Flamey September 23 2006 4:15 AM EDT

we know, its in item overview.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 23 2006 5:54 AM EDT

What does the "Does not sp" mean? Is my browser cutting off the end of the description?

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] September 23 2006 5:59 AM EDT

Usually that would be "does not spawn ..." but I'm not seeing that at all -- I know my browser cuts off the descriptions.

AdminShade September 23 2006 6:30 AM EDT

"all enchantments experienced" does NOT mean "all enchantments cast."

This must mean only useable on ED spells and skills.

Does it also increase the opponents EO spells cast on you? i.e. make your opponent's AMF stronger (or weaker?)

bartjan September 23 2006 6:49 AM EDT

Viewing the HTML source learns me this: "Base AC 0; upgrades do not affect AC. 2% bonus per plus to skills and all enchantments experienced. PR weight: 0.2. Does not spawn. Unforgeable."

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] September 23 2006 7:38 AM EDT

Thanks Bart! :D

PirateKing September 23 2006 10:01 AM EDT

Scuze me whilst I drool....

*drools*

Move along.. nothing more to see here. :P

bartjan September 23 2006 10:04 AM EDT

Can the Enchantment effects be displayed in play-by-play?

Flamey September 23 2006 10:05 AM EDT

that means whatever gets affect would have to be displated like GA,AMF,EC and VA?

look like a lot of enchantments...

bartjan September 23 2006 10:13 AM EDT

It's your own personal anti-DM ;)

Flamey September 23 2006 10:23 AM EDT

guess so, but anymore enchantments and i have to scroll to see ranged combat, lol.

sucks having to scroll every fight to see whats going on.

QBBarzooMonkey September 23 2006 10:24 AM EDT

So far, I can report:

A +8 AoF pushes my UC from (98) up to (105), and I like it!!!!.
DO NOT use this on a Tank unless
1. You have big DM to deal with EC
2. You mave massive DX to overcome "superfied" EC
3. The tank is a UC tank, wherein the inherent UC skill allows you to still land hits in melee even if your DX has been rendered useless

The superfied EC will render your tank absolutely helpless if you don't have counters...
I'm still working on how much of a difference it makes, numbers-wise.

:)

QBBarzooMonkey September 23 2006 10:27 AM EDT

I forgot to put "or" in between all of those :P

bartjan September 23 2006 10:48 AM EDT

How would DM help you deal with EC?

Flamey September 23 2006 10:51 AM EDT

DM reduces all ED only.

i think it just slipped with everyone that it is all EO/ED but then that wouldn't make sense, fizzling DM is silly :)

Flamey September 23 2006 10:52 AM EDT

just confirmed, AMF and EC have a greater effect with the AoF involved.

me and draco did a quick test, if you really want numbers get two characters and do it yourself :P

QBBarzooMonkey September 23 2006 10:52 AM EDT

Scratch the DM/EC thing. Some who are more knowledgeable about how spells work than I am have "dispelled" a wrong impression that I had about DM. :)

Madola September 24 2006 7:12 AM EDT

Seeing how I use a single minion with archery and DM, this will only make things harder for me. I'll be facing boosted AS, GA, VA and more, but can't make use of it myself...

Well, perhaps it's time to make myself an (Ev/AS/)AMF enchanter...

Hmmm..

*rubs hands together*

QBRanger September 24 2006 7:17 AM EDT

You can use it to boost your archery, thereby needing less xp to max it out, thereby having more xp to boost your HP.

Madola September 24 2006 7:46 AM EDT

True, but it doesn't need all too much exp to begin with (less then 5% in total) and my AoI is probably more useful. But like I said, I'll probably try to change this situation to my advantage in some way. This game IS about strategy, after all. But I should first check how popular it becomes...
