quitting (in Public Record)

Cameron majere October 20 2006 5:51 PM EDT

i quit the game. I sold all of my stuff to the store, and i'm giving jagged fel all of my money and the crossbow because he was very nice and helpful to me at the beginning of the game. bye all.

[SIBT]Gardiner Amarth October 20 2006 5:53 PM EDT

That's no good amigo...but I did score your Sling of Death at the store :)

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] October 20 2006 6:23 PM EDT

Not smart, considering you still owe AoD as far as I can tell....

Angel of Death [Hell Blenders] October 20 2006 6:25 PM EDT

i want my money scammer!!!

[Where Shirt]Freekie [Lower My Fees] October 20 2006 6:25 PM EDT

i dont think he will care much considering he quit...

UncleKracker October 20 2006 7:27 PM EDT

Yeah, you can't quit before paying back AoD. So get back to CB!

Hyrule Castle [Defy] October 20 2006 8:01 PM EDT

i think jagged fel should have to reimburse aod

Flamey October 20 2006 8:02 PM EDT

tsk, tsk.

jagged fel, should pay AoD money, he got burnt 5 mil.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] October 20 2006 8:43 PM EDT

So it might be a bit pointless to ban him for scamming? Or is there a way to get the cash back?

QBJohnnywas October 21 2006 4:27 AM EDT

There's a named BoNE and some Helms on his char still...maybe a nice admin could transfer those to AoD, despite the 'no debt collection' business....

QBJohnnywas October 21 2006 4:28 AM EDT

Or maybe Cameron could if he happens to log back in. Unless they're rentals of course...I'll just check...

QBJohnnywas October 21 2006 4:29 AM EDT

Prolly should have checked first before posting lol. They're rentals....

[Where Shirt]Freekie [Lower My Fees] October 21 2006 5:13 AM EDT

Isnt there some kind of scam fund or something?

QBJohnnywas October 21 2006 5:29 AM EDT

Maybe the person who picked the tattoo up from the store could donate some of the profits from any sale.... that would be a nice gesture..... ;)

AdminShade October 21 2006 6:02 AM EDT

The best thing to do would be asking the people who bought his stuff from stores donate them to AoD up to the amount Cameron owed him.

Angel of Death [Hell Blenders] October 21 2006 8:11 AM EDT

thats a nice idea but don't think people will do that, he didnt have much but the tat and that thing he gave jagged
its my fault for giving him a pay plan while he was a newbie

QBRanger October 21 2006 10:09 AM EDT

Then, of course since you have a pr thread, the tattoo should be returned to you.

How do we know jagged and this obvious loser were not in it together.

If the tattoo cannot be recovered for some reason, any items given to jagged should go to AoD to the amount owed to him.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 21 2006 11:45 AM EDT

So the rules should be ignored entirely because we feel bad for AoD?

Come on Ranger, that's more collection work than has ever been done by an admin (Without another admin being involved)...

AoD you've learned this lesson yourself enough times now I hope you'll adjust your loaning practices. To the sub-genius who chose to implicate JF, I hope you trip and fall and bust a hip.

Angel of Death [Hell Blenders] October 21 2006 2:17 PM EDT

AoD you've learned this lesson yourself enough times now
first: this the first time i got this so that isnt right what you said novice
seond: yea i learned my lesson, i tought i could trust cbers but i guess i cant trusted anyone in cb and i learned i the hard way

deifeln October 21 2006 7:04 PM EDT

He's not quite done with CB...

Or shoudn't Cameron get a ban already?

Any admin say about this?

AoD should get his stuff

QBPixel Sage October 21 2006 8:17 PM EDT

I find it fishy that instead of paying AoD anything at all, he pays jagged fel $2,750,000 for being "very nice." If jagged fel is so nice, I'm sure he'd consider sending at least that much to AoD. Key phrase "at least."

In the case that jagged fel keeps the good sent to him, then he would be violating one-way transfers and could be considered a multi.

deifeln October 21 2006 8:21 PM EDT

Pixel,

JF also got a named tatto from this jerk.

The Shooter of Vegetarians ($2732278)

I have CMed JF and asked him to do the right thing

JaggedFel311 October 23 2006 8:49 AM EDT

Ok, I just got back from two weeks of vacation and have no idea what is going on.

I do not know Cameron majere, I have only chatted with him a handful of times because he is friends with a guy who was in my clan a while back (Zeminia, who also quit). Why he chose to send me the weapon and the money are completely beyond me. I have no problem sending that money and the weapon over to AOD... they aren't mine, and I don't really want them. I will do so as soon as I get done typing this.

Further, I do not appreciate automatically being lumped in (by some) as a scammer or a multi just because this guy quit the game, owed AOD a bunch, and sent me stuff. I know I don't chat a ton or have all that much interaction with the majority of you as I tend to keep to myself, but those that do know me know that I am an honest and forthright player and generally a nice guy.

I now consider myself finished with this whole mess. If anyone thinks I should actually send AOD more than the $2,750,000 or this weapon that I was given by Cameron or that I should be responsible in anyway for whatever else might be owed to AOD, please feel free to chip in yourself, cause I sure ain't contributing another dime. I was unfortunate enough to be away when this happened and therefore the public opinion against me only had time to rise. I have done willingly what should be done from my end... anything further is ridiculous and I simply will not do it.

AdminShade October 23 2006 9:11 AM EDT

imo JaggedFel is very friendly by doing this, as he had nothing to do with it imo.

People saying that he should pay AoD off should send their own piece of mind to AoD instead of bothering him with it.

Hope this thread will die, unless I'll have to kill it.

QBRanger October 23 2006 9:14 AM EDT

Jagged,

Before you get even more upset, look at the whole situation from everyone else's point of view.

Cameron left, owing AOD a lot of money. He "gives" you all his stuff before he leaves. You are not on so do not respond to this thread for a few days. You say you hardly knew the loser.

Just see how public perception can be as it is. You gave the stuff to AoD that the loser gave you. I do not think anyone in the game assumes you are in on things now.

But please calm down and view this from others point of view.

JaggedFel311 October 23 2006 9:32 AM EDT

Ranger,

I certainly can see how it can look from an outsiders point of view. I was gone, couldn't respond, and therefore had no chance to defend myself. Therefore to some I was guilty. Please see it from my side though: innocent until proven guilty.

I suppose I should apologize for chosing to take a vacation and not hitting up an internet cafe to check my emails and my CB while out of the country. I guess the moral of the story is that you have to sign on to CB all day every day, just in case something fishy should pop up, or else you might be in on it. Thankfully I got back just a few days after this all went down... I don't even want to guess what some might have suggested happen to me if this had happened two weeks ago when I left.

Seriously though, I'm sorry if I'm upset about this, but I find it troubling that if someone isn't on to respond to a problem as soon as it happens (or within a day, two days, whatever) people automatically assume he has played a hand in some sneak-thievery.

Angel of Death [Hell Blenders] October 23 2006 9:45 AM EDT

jagged if i offended you in any way with the pm then i appoligize, that wasn't my intention and im very gratfull that you sended me the money and the named heavy crossbow

thank you again

QBRanger October 23 2006 10:11 AM EDT

Jagged,

Nice way to be quite defensive.

Carry on.

QBsutekh137 October 23 2006 10:20 AM EDT

I think Jagged has handled himself quite well... Better than I would have...

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 23 2006 10:44 AM EDT

Ranger, when did you grow that magnificent cop moustache...

Maelstrom October 23 2006 11:03 AM EDT

Lol @ novice!

Jagged, don't let what the players say bother you - it's the admins that count, and they can tell that you didn't do anything wrong. Also, SNK was forging for you, so he knew that you were out of town. You have every right to be upset by the accusations, but it's all over now.

Ranger, what do you want home to do, apologize because someone sent him stuff while he was away? He had no control over it.

QBRanger October 23 2006 11:10 AM EDT

When someone quits, gives all their stuff to someone else still owning a lot of money, questions arise.

However, there was no reason for Jagged to get as defensive as he did. A simple "I do not know the guy, I sent AoD the stuff sent to me" would have been quite sufficient.

Please tell me that there have never been multis that have done almost this exact same thing. If you can tell me that, then I will never voice my suspicions again. But, until that time, I will be free to type my concerns when something suspicious occurs. And do not tell me that this, at the time, was not the least suspicious.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 23 2006 11:25 AM EDT

suspicions should be kept private, and shared with
the wonderful folks who do the real work...
public floggings are so last year

How do we know jagged and this obvious loser were not in it together. ~Ranger (Oct. 21)

However, there was no reason for Jagged to get as defensive as he did. ~Ranger (Oct. 23)

Methinks I see a reason. I see no reason however for your first accusation. Perhaps you owe him an apology?

kevinLeong October 23 2006 3:32 PM EDT

Personally I don't think any apology is necessary. When these type of situations arise, suspicious should be addressed. Ranger never actually ACCUSED Jagged of being part of a shady deal with Cameron, he just raised the possibility ("How do we know....?" is different than "We know....").

When a serious situation like scamming occurs, all logical/reasonable possibilities should be addressed.

Was Ranger's concern reasonable? Sure. It could easily happen. However, Jagged regained his credibility and honor and sent back the money and items. No harm to him has been done, this in no way has tarnished his reputation.

So why is there need for an apology?

th00p October 23 2006 4:23 PM EDT

Personally, can't we just get over it? It was a misunderstanding, things have been fixed. Best thing to do is stop quibbling over who owes who an apology and move on.
