As for making it without a clan, that's just because I am silly and stubborn. *smile* Also, FYI, when I buy BA, I can stay at 11-12% bonus just as a one-person clan, so I'm not really missing out much... My biggest struggle right now is staying in the Top Ten so I can keep up nice bonuses...
