HF vs other Familiars (Improving HF) (in General)

I really love the idea of physically damaging familiars, but it seems that at this point it doesn't work out too well. The main drawback I'm finding is that melee familiars need PTH upgrades possible, while magical familiars do not. I think the addition of something like a PTH Amulet would help with this. Alternately, you could have the effects of ammo transfer with Junction.. as in the HF is actually using your ammo. But this again posts a problem: with Junction, you get no Archery. With no Archery, I wouldn't get within 10 feet of an Elbow equipped to my minion.

So I ask you CB community, how do you think that the Halidon Familiar could be improved to make it a more worthwhile piece of tattoo-ery?

You don't have to be using an ELBow to have seekers/slayers/upgraded ammo equipped.

Halidon Familiar doesn't *have* to be sitting on an offensive minion

Right, but if you want to put them on a tank to get the effects of AoM + BGs+ HoC + EBs etc. that is already using an Exbow, I doubt my upgraded bolts would have an effects on an HF. :P

Maybe the HF should have a built in PTH bonus as per a TOA of the same level would grant its wearing minion.

I like the PTH amulet idea (mainly because I suggested it a while ago). It'll have the added bonus of making UC viable, what with the recent nerf. It'll also give some method to combat those utterly massive DB and Evasion scores so hitting in ranged is possible.

UC wasn't nerfed, a bug was fixed. Damage increased greatly, and PTH was only slightly decreased.

Yes, that is what I meant Shade ;D

I thought about that Pop, but would the PTH be unknown at any level besides a single given level? I also thought about a way to upgrade the "bow" of the HF, meaning you could either put money into it (blacksmith etc.) or have it gradually grow with the raising of the level of the tattoo.
