deifeln April 18 2007 3:22 PM EDT

Is this a cry for help?

Gandalf April 18 2007 3:30 PM EDT

good question duck Knee :)

[Where Shirt]Freekie [Lower My Fees] April 18 2007 3:31 PM EDT

Not so much as a cry for help as something to look foreward to...

{CB1}Lukeyman April 18 2007 3:40 PM EDT

If you need to ask, then you should ask youself

Unappreciated Misnomer April 18 2007 3:49 PM EDT

nothing ventured nothing gained, cause there is only today.

QBJohnnywas April 18 2007 3:50 PM EDT

My wife, my family, my friends. Music, bacon sandwiches and cups of tea.

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] April 18 2007 4:01 PM EDT

because you're only given one

[Where Shirt]Freekie [Lower My Fees] April 18 2007 4:03 PM EDT

No wife, black sheep of the family, no friends, never have bacon and i hate tea... the only thing i can think that is worth living for is my GF who loves me no matter what.

BootyGod April 18 2007 4:10 PM EDT

I love you too Manson :)

You live because life is better than death. Death is a nothing. No good, bad, no anything. You cease to be.

Compared to that... life is wonderful :)

And... depending on your religion... life is still better. Because with all that hell and brimstone and not being good enough for Nirvana (band or place, you decide) and blah blah... life ain't that bad compared to it either.

Either way man... you live for tomorrow if nothing else. And for the people that care.

QBJohnnywas April 18 2007 4:32 PM EDT

DK,

if you've somebody who loves you no matter what then you're better off than a hell of a lot of people in the world.

Don't focus on what you don't have - that will drive you mad - and don't compare your life to other peoples'. Focus on the things you have. Savour them and be thankful. ;)

Nerevas April 18 2007 5:21 PM EDT

If a single thing in life makes you happy enough to not want to die, then its worth staying alive.

CoolWater April 18 2007 5:35 PM EDT

I hope you are not thinking of committing suicide. If you are, you should seek help.

QBBarzooMonkey April 18 2007 5:36 PM EDT

Breakfast. Breakfast is why life is worth living. When one wakes up in the morning, right after one thanks whatever one believes in that they are still breathing without mechanical assistance and that the sun hasn't been extinguished, the first thought should be "this is a good day, I wonder what I'll have for breakfast."

Then the day will fill in on its own, and even a bad day will be forgotten by bedtime, when the last though should be "I wonder what I'll have for breakfast tomorrow?"

That way, there is always something to look forward to for next day, and no matter how bleak everything seems, if you have something to look forward to the next day, then life is worth living, and since breakfast is first, the cycle of life continues and another day goes by, and there's something to look forward the next day and the next and the next...

Everything else that is good in your life is the icing, and should never, ever, ever be taken for granted, or squandered.

:)

Brakke Bres [Ow man] April 18 2007 5:36 PM EDT

You're actually postponing your eventual death.
However im trying to postpone it as long as possible :P

AdminG Beee April 18 2007 5:38 PM EDT

...because it's a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

Stereoselective organic synthesis exams make life NOT worth living.

----****DISCLAIMER****----

Duck_Knee has no intention of killing himself. The above post is simply a joke. Breath. It was used to lighten the mood.

P.S. He appreciates everyone's comments.

P.P.S. Sometimes joking about something serious helps a person, even if it doesn't help -you-.

{CB1}Lukeyman April 18 2007 6:19 PM EDT

well, it might offend some people, thats all i'll say

tscm April 18 2007 6:44 PM EDT

I wish I could beat some sense into Manson, he scared me... I don't like hearing my friends saying things like that... :P

SundariZelia [The Knighthood] April 18 2007 7:01 PM EDT

You know, I often find my life pointless. Even with my son, I think he could be better off without me. But I have a really good RL friend that can always cheer me up even when things are at there worst. And now I'v started playing CB again, even though I think I don't have the time or money for it, I missed the community here. The people that said CB is worth living for, some might call it crazy but it is. We look out for each other, so whenever you feel bad, log onto CB, use some BA and seek encouragement from your fellow players. We're all here. /me sends best wishes and hugs your way :)

TheHatchetman April 18 2007 7:10 PM EDT

"well, it might offend some people, thats all i'll say"

While this is quite true, anything could offend anyone. Even my last sentence probably has a few people thinking "Hey, screw you! I'm not that easily offended!" :) Of course not...

Beer.

Slashundhack [We Forge Our Own Stuff] April 18 2007 7:58 PM EDT

Life might be not be worth living but actually not living thats really hard !

RedWolf April 18 2007 10:39 PM EDT

If you really think you don't have any friends in real life, at least you have friends here. :-)

Timberwolf April 18 2007 11:18 PM EDT

No matter how bad you think you have it, some one somewhere has probably gone through much worse things in their lives and are very happy to wake up every morning to face another day.

Sometimes talking to those around you will help you realize that you are not alone in the world, and there are people that actually care about you.

muon [The Winds Of Fate] April 19 2007 1:31 AM EDT

The scent of a dew-touched rose in the morning, the azure-infinity of the sky, the feel of the sun on your upturned face, the turmoil and chaos of a stormy night.

To experience, to learn, to feel, to grow, to be... what better reasons could there be?

Cheers.

Flamey April 19 2007 4:13 AM EDT

I believe you answered the question and it's not like you just stumbled upon this, you knew this.

"the only thing i can think that is worth living for is my GF who loves me no matter what."

Oh and if you do decide to commit suicide, not saying that you will, well just think of suicide as a selfish thing. Yeah? Okay. You're screwing up the lives of everyone close to you (Family and GF), you'd make them go through hell, all for nothing. I'm sure life is better than death, it just is. If you want to get into the nitty gritty, you're causing them financial hardship as well as emotional hardship, Funerals are damn expensive, put my family through hell, I believe when my Dad died.

Oh, let me tell you, just having someone die, sucks big time. But if that person had the power to keep on living that make you feel like crap even more. I'd rather all my family and close people to me live, sorry.

Probably got on a rant there, but yeah, not implying you want to kill yourself, maybe something to think about? you know, thinking that way kinda makes life better than it is.

Wasp April 19 2007 6:11 AM EDT

Enjoy each day as it comes, as you never know what life could hold. It's like playing a lottery every morning, who knows, you might get the jackpot.

You must remember, your mood usually dictates the kind of day you will have. Be in a happy mood in the morning, and you usually attract happy stuff. Doing something you enjoy usually makes you happy, even exercise. Joining a gym is a great start if you wanna get instant results, meeting new people and releasing happy endorphins. Ahhh :D

Revs April 19 2007 9:58 AM EDT

If I'm going to be honest here, I'd say that if this post was meant to be a joke, I'm not sure it's a very good one. If it's meant to draw attention, then I think there are better avenues at finding help for dealing with whatever life has thrown your way. Even a plea on the internet is difficult, as people really don't know you that well, no matter how much they'd like to.

Why is life worth living? Answer: people. People make life worth living, what you get from community and what you give to it. Life has so much to offer and can be absolutely, stunningly beautiful, if you are willing to invest.

If that's difficult, then I highly recommend talking to a counselor. Even if this was a lighthearted joke, i find there's always a little bit of truth in sarcasm. Which is why this thread has worried me some in the last couple days. Talk to the people around you. Let them know if there's a struggle. And talk to a counselor. I've been seeing a counselor for a year now while dealing with my wife who has a brain disorder. I'm telling you help and happiness is around the corner, you just have to make the initial steps to own it take responsibility for it. But it's possible that you will not have to ask the question again, and you will find the right community of people in the process. Please look into it. That life worth living is waiting for you.

I wish you well.

First and Foremost, I want to send an apology to anyone who truly found this to be offensive, or thought any harm was to come to anyone... As i said i have a GF that loves me and i already know that all i need is her and if i took myself away from her id be doing much more than hurting myself... After the pas couple of days, i have been feeling a bit down i guess you could say but its just life rearing its ugly head and after hearing this V Tech thing i wonder what do other people have to live for nowadays... Obviously there wasnt enough for him and maybe ill find something someone here says to look foreward to... Any way, im not good at these so once again, i apologize and want noone to pay this post any more attention, and id really prefer if i could get someone to close it so it leaves the mind and community. Until then... Happy CBing :)
