T7: No tank you. Updated rule! (in Contests)

A user submitted tourney for T7, much thanks goes to dj1914 for taking the time to submit a tournament :)

The contest will begin August 6th at 12PM, and end August 13th at 12PM

Rules:

Starting on Thursday, you may only fight other Tournament characters.

At the end of the tourney, you must have a minimum of 500k NW.

No tattoos will be allowed.

You may train a maximum of one evasion on your team.

As always, all rules in this thread apply.

Tanks are now ALLOWED.

Highest MPR
Battles as Challenger
Most Powerful Single minion


You can only win one prize, should you come in first for two, you can choose which you want, and the other will go to second place in that category.

Highest MPR: A Trollskin Armor [22](+20)
Battles Challenged: A Pair of Tulkas' Gauntlets [6](+11)
Most Powerful Single Minion: A Set of Chain Mail Leggings [18](+28)

Oh yeah: one more thing - if anyone has any requests for T8, or any future tourney, such as a team based, or special win condition, feel free to chatmail me and I'll take that into consideration.

As far as I know a weapon is essential for earning that first few XP before you can train a Direct Damage spell. Can't you put a (ridiculously low) limit on the MPB each tournament entry is allowed to have? That's very easy to check, but still allows everyone to bootstrap their mages.

hum - good point bart, I'll trust that everyone will get rid of the weapon as soon as possible to train a DD spell.

4000 BA Cap is good..

No one could even reach the 5k Cap, so unlitmited is just silly.

surely people should be rewarded for having lower battles as challenger not higher? as in just being online the most isnt really a tournament...

rewarding someone for not being online isn't much better :)

Mian asked a good question earlier - if someone should win more than one condition, they can choose which prize they want, and the other will go to second place in its ranking (2nd highest MPR, for example)

But, with the "missing BA" some people are getting esp on T characters, total battles challenged may be whoever gets luckier with losing less BA.

yeah but highest MPR takes skill, battles as challenger doesnt take any skill

im not saying lowest battles as challenger is good, but its better than most, its like the blue ribbon on sports day for just being there

Battles as Challenger is also problematic in that you could, under certain circumstances, have two players, five players, or ten players tie for first in that category. There are at least nine or ten CB1 players who wouldn't miss a tourney ba challenge under the current CB2 ba refresh rate.

Looks like its becaused I trained decay.. wish I could have got a warning. I had just trained it, didn't even fight anyone with it.

Btw can you please post allowed/disallowed for decay from now on. As its been allowed on and off I forgot about it.

Don't forget, It says, No Decay unless otherwise stated. Which it wasn't.

But I'm sure it wouldn't hurt Slayer from posting it now on.

i agree on the decay and rules in general. make a text file and copy and paste them into each tourney thread please. it is a bit awkward having two places to check rules on each tourney.

I kinda thought you'd do this too and yes it does suck. I don't think I'll be participating in any more tournies simply because I expected to play with interesting limitations.I kinda feel like I've been wasting my time already due to the leaders (usually the first to sign up) get attacked hundreds of times more than others. Also the fact that some people have the time to spend to pick their targets throughout their BA run. All that makes it too difficult to be competetive.

I thought you wouldn't be participating in any more because 'too many retards ruining it for the rest of us' ?

why did you change a rule half way thru the contest? many people had not planned on a tank, and now it's an option?

Isn't one of the best things about CB the constant change and need to adapt to those changes? Why is this an issue?

Barzoo, don't try to put a spin on this with "change it good", when the rules are announced about a tourney, it should be locked down once it starts. He could've run the same tourney next week and this time added tanks.

Me too I thought it would be tattoos allowed so I bought a tattoo. Oh well, this just makes things more interesting since it is tourney character only starting in 17 minutes :D

Why's everyone so down in the dumps? You still keep 98% of your EXP when you untrain a stat...and if *everyone* got hit by this change, and *everyone* is untraining their AMF, then it is an equal drop across the board, so nobody is being penalized as hard as they think.

Best? Definitely no.

I don't think this is that fair. The rule about attacking Tourney guys only. It honestly takes me a good 2 mins to attack 10 people. Because I am not a Supporter. So I have to do it manually. And it's a pain. Because Everytime I have a high about of BA. It just keeps coming back every 20 minutes. Taking it longer and longer for me. I have spent about 30 BA in 20 minutes. Because everyone is always comatosed. I noticed that 18 of the 21 top players in T7 are supporters. Giving them a huge advantage. Because they can have favorite.

So, I just giving my opinion about that rule.

Dangerzone, I guess the only way is to click on the stats link > tournament scores> choose the tourney characters one at a time to fight. Unless you get supportership...

That's what I am currently doing. And it takes too long.. It's just not fair. But I will have to get used to it.. Another 3 days left..

Well, supportership does not cost much. Just offer cb2 cash and get someone to buy it for you.

I know. It's just..I find it stupid that you have to pair to get even with other players in this tournament.

And considering I only have 660k... I can't nearly afford it. So it stinks for me. :(

Dangerzone: in Firefox, open each opponent in a separate tab. Then click on each tab 'fight'. Then reload each tab. To cycle through tabs, CTRL+Page down (or up) helps.

So, you'll end up hitting CTRL+Down, CTRL+R over and over, until you get a botcheck.

maybe in future tournys with rule changes CM s should be sent to all participants? not everyone checks forums every min of the day

The rules stated that a rule would change on Wed. Why not just check back on Wed.?

I looked where it stated a rule will change on Wed, and couldn't find anything.

But Lostlings just said.. Not everyone checks the forums everyday. So we should get CMed about rules changing. It was just his suggestion.

Before Wednesday the post stated a rule would change on Wednesday, when the time came I edited the post with the new rule in the place of that (in bold, no less) and edited the post title to include "Updated rule!", also in bold.

Oh.. I was just confused Sorry. I knew the rule would change.
