forge efficiency drop (in General)

while forging OOB's BoTH these last few days I have been getting between 205 and 220% per forge cycle on the X, more specifically between 98 and 110% when casting tempering. Overnight, both numbers have dropped about 5% (193-210/cycle, 93-105/temper). Now while in regard to NW change this is not a huge difference, the large RPM changes simply amplify the discrepency. Are any other forgers out there noticing a change?

I haven't noticed anything, however it is true that there is a random multiplier in forging... maybe your unlucky =/

well aware of the randomness as that is what I assumed was causing the fluctuations previously, but now the entire range has dropped.

maybe try adding a heat, or a quench.. perhaps the cycle is bad...

I didn't notice any change, either.

Everything seems fine this end. Hopefully theres an increase this change month : )

not sure what was happening, but it is now back to where it was previously

hmmm, I wonder if it was the lack of forge bonus in the econ clan which happens to be 5%. I thought only fighting clans had the 0 bonus on Sundays but I could be wrong. I will try to track it next weekend to see if it happens again.

Yeah, if you need to keep forging that BoTH through next weekend to test this out, that's fine with me... *grin*

ok, with a total of 40 data points spanning 3 days and 2 upgrades on a pair of DBs, I feel comfortable saying that econ clans lose the 5% forge bonus during standard clan bonusless time as well. It would appear that all other benefits of econ clans remain in tact during this time

Wait... When have econ clans ever improved forge efficiency? Or do you mean the 5% off of the blacksmith fees?

Econ clans do improve forge efficiency, yes.

according to the wiki, econ clans receive a 5% forge efficiency bonus in addition to the 5% discount on the fees and the various txfr fee discounts as well

Hmmm... Good to know... Learned somethin new.

There may be a misunderstanding, but it is said that there is no bonus to forging. Just a 5% reduction to forging fees.

Can anyone (Jon?) clarify this?

Jon says it is an RPM boost.
