Changes to Skins: Forced (in General)

So, with the recent changes to the Clan, Auctions and Stores, things have started to change. What I'm wondering is what is the point of having any kind of a skin in this game if the new designs are going to be forced on you?

Don't get me wrong, people like the new layouts. I personally hate them. For me, the old ones were easier on the eyes and easier to read.

I was wondering if the ability to revert those pages to their old layout was going to be added into settings or if they were just to be forced on me regardless of what skin setup I choose.

You're going to be forced initially. Once the default one is done, I think Jon will hold a "Theme Contest" for people to create their own and be "official".

Whether the latter part will happen or not, we'll see.

BTW, Jon has said previously that old themes will NOT be available.

the new theme engine will supposedly be easier to "skin" so part of the reason for doing this is to make it easier for those wanting to create new themes. it is forced on us now with one default theme, but will hopefully be better than ever later.

The new engine will be forced upon you, the new skins however will be your own choice to create when the engine is done.

Indeed, the new theme has really got you by the forced skin.

How easy is the skin creator going to be to use so that way we can design our own?

Who is testing it?

Skins are CSS, so any text editor can be used to create themes...

I would really like to be able to use the old theme instead of this new. If anyone makes a usable copy of the old theme I would gratefully pay $500,000 to him!

I just hope that when the new home page doesn't have all your items listed on a two lines : ( Looks rough.
