Random BA?? (in General)

A lot of people in chat seem to be getting extra BA just randomly, some more than anothers. I personally didn't recieve any that I'm aware of.. but, bug?

yea i got like 53 BA it was so random i enjoyed it :) but still i think it might have been a roll back from time change

I gain BA and lose XP

131 free BA so far. ;)

People are saying cash and XP saved, so.

I keep going upto 53 BA aswell... please fix this! It's happening ever 10 minutes.

It does happen every 10 minutes. I wasnt 100% sure. Good its not just me.

I noticed I was getting random amount of BA, but not the amounts that you're all getting!

I just gained -3 on that 10 minute mark :(

This NEEDS to be fixed.. I cant spend BA because the server says I am fighting multiple times, giving mee the 10 minute suspensions, and all the rollbacks every 10 minutes cause me to lose XP and Cash.. CMON

I hope I don't get in trouble for posting to much. I am noticing I am getting more and more BA each time.

this was happening earlier this morning, what i believe it to be, is the amount it resets you to (for me 63) is what it resets to every 10 mins... whatever exp you do not train, (or what you had when you had the 63) is lost, money seems to stay (if you hit train or home)

i think this is a bug, and you all should just let it be..

Moved to on the 5 minutes instead of the 0's...

This happens while forging, also: BA and progress reset back to original values every few minutes.

Interesting. I'm not using mine, just watching it go up and down. 77, 73, 74, etc...

I just noticed this. I wasn't sure. I had just started fighting and then I noticed I had 156 BA, I thought I'd already done 10-15 fights then I was down to 20 and it suddenly went up again. Now I'm sure.

It'll get rolled back, no point in spending BA. Waste of your time, and it just causes confusion.

No longer random, it's picked up a steady rhythm! 74, 75, 76, 77, 78 now...

I reported this problem earlier today here, but it seems like nothing has been done-- just before I made this post I went from 74 to 75 BA. It's not like free BA is a bad thing, but I just want the game to work correctly! You know, like it used to...

It reminds me of 2001 CB when we had unlimited BA..

My BA just went from 0 to 94.

Can we at least get some confirmation that this is a server hiccup or something? I never know when my BA is going to top out if we have random resets up to 94 BA...

I am currently at school, so I have to leave.. Hopefully this will be fixed before i get home in a few hours.

I just fought over 50 battles in the last hour, logged off for a bit to complete some work, then logged back in. My BA was replenished to 160. There is still a glitch.

I never got free BA....

Why do I always miss out on stuff like this?!?

I just got another 94 back. I have used them and trained and written my mages HP and total $$$.

If this is just making money and experience (provided one trains), then we really need this fixed. I am imagining a NUB getting a few days worth of extra bonus from this if they are logged in.

I was just noticing that I was making no progress on my BA again this morning.


As a side note, it looks like (for me) it is just making mini-rollbacks, since I don't train EXP...I definitely lost some that I had fought up. But oh well, more battles to fight. *shrugs* I'd like to see this fixed soon, though.

And again. Current BA 121, even though just minutes ago it was zero.

My cash and HP are as if things WEREN'T rolled back. I feel like I am cheating now by keeping the BA number down and keeping trained up!

Can someone make sure Jonathan knows about this? This is very serious!

i logged off with 0 and i just logged on with 9. i missed the bug!

Darn. If there's a rollback on this, it's gonna really suck for me. That'll be all the work I've done ALL MONTH rolled back. =\

The past hour or so has been normal accrual.

But just look at my 24-hour numbers...pretty high compared to a lot of other near-24-hour players, and I still have 150/216 of my daily BA to purchase...

I certainly hope there isn't a rollback...I have been growing like mad my first month.

A rollback would create more issues than it would solve, I think.

Some people gained a couple k extra pr//some money that they shouldn't have,

but reverting it would harm more people by taking away legit rewards.

and also new members that created accounts during the bug - what would happen to them?

Yeah, I am more than fine with Jonathan finding my average rewards and then reducing my cash by 200-300 BA, and taking experience from my highest stat.

A full rollback would definitely be more troublesome...

I just wanted to make sure it had stopped, and it appears to have done (for now). I know there were at least three instances of this, Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and then this Monday morning.

It must be related to Daylight Savings Time.

In the meantime I am recording how much free BA I have gotten, so if a correction comes it doesn't cost an arm and a leg in mpr =)

Good call on the time change, horseguy. I would bet you are right, or at least close.

Another side effect of all this is that the refresh rate after battles seemed to have shortened dramatically during the BA refresh issues. I'm using Fex's script which automatically picks my next available opponent that has the highest Score... I was getting far more battles vs my top 6 opponents than I normally would get.

That's because everyone is on burning BA non-stop. I didn't get any glitches this morning, but when I was burning before going to bed I noticed I was getting lots of extra fights, then my BA hiccuped, I posted and went to bed, but I still burned 160 BA in about 3 minutes.

It appears that everybody is getting different amounts of BA, totally at random. So how is Jon supposed to see who spent 'normal' BA or random BA? I have bought and used all of my BA since 03:50 this morning, but there are players who have bought some, fought some, but not all. Maybe some random BA as well.

After this has been fixed, a rollback might be necessary. Or not, as most people don't mind extra money, XP and NUB/NCB time.

Oh and about Daylight Saving Time, clan bonuses started 2 hours early today too. Maybe it's related?

I would have no problem with Jon rolling back to before the DST change, if that is what has caused this. He has done multi-day rollbacks before, but it always has some issues with it when it comes to supporter item buys, new charatcers, transfers, auctions, etc, etc... What a mess!

Most people haven't gotten a huge amount of extra EXP and Money. I am a NUB been getting free BA for hours. I have not increased that much. I don't know how this Rollback thing will work. But it seems like it will wreck the people who have not received free BA. But in the end. Its Jon's decision. :)

I know about the former rollbacks, heh, but they all happened after some major CB malfunctioning, big enough to stop CB from being able to go on like normal. Like the big melee damage, the negative millions of experience and so on.

This time, CB is doing perfectly fine. We're only fighting a bit more. I don't see the need to do a rollback, although, like xVanished said, it's up to Jon.

Added time zone to BA table and restarted server. I hope that's the problem, because this code hasn't changed since tournaments were added and has been working pretty well to date. :)

Ehh... I spoke too soon. It seems I just got seven extra BA.

The bug has definitely there around 11pm and 2 pm today. Seems good since then.

I just burnt 20... and ran out, now I'm burning another 20... about 5 minutes later? Maybe I've gone insane :S

wasp, i'm pretty sure you lost the XP and cash from the first 20 BA, or at least that's what has been happening to me for the past half hour or so.

Something either yesterday or the day before made the web server very very unstable. It segfaulted 36 times yesterday and 18 today so far, which is what is causing the mini-rollbacks.

Until I figure out what the problem is, I have changed it to save your progress every 10 battles. ("Normal" is every 75.)

Every time I think the bug is fixed. It seems to come right back and give me free BA. 60 in about the last 20 minutes. I'm thinking this bug could be serious. :S

You can be sure I will post when it's fixed.

In the meantime I have reverted most of last night's and today's changes to a point where I think it was more stable. (It looks like a heisenbug in the xml parser I am using.)

No crashes since 1:40, so it does look like the xml parser's fault.

...Because that's how that just appeared. I got BA at 11:50 server time.

You should get no BA at 12:00 then and again at 12:10 :)
