NUB no longer applies to forging; current users grandfathered (in Changelog)

AdminJonathan December 6 2007 5:40 PM EST

Which is to say, users who join after today will no longer get a NUB bonus to forging, but existing users will until their NUB expires.

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] December 6 2007 5:41 PM EST

woot!

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] December 6 2007 5:42 PM EST

Yay thanks! Much needed help for the Vet forgers!

BootyGod December 6 2007 5:42 PM EST

HECK YES!

QBRanger December 6 2007 5:42 PM EST

Well done.

So far 2/2 on the great changes column.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] December 6 2007 5:46 PM EST

no more nub forging, this will get them fighting :)

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] December 6 2007 6:06 PM EST

He hears our cries!

Thanks, great change!

TheHatchetman December 6 2007 6:35 PM EST

Great news! Now, when i finish messing around with the char I created last night, there will be business to justify forging again! :D

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] December 6 2007 6:48 PM EST

THANK YOU JON!

I'm still not enjoying going to the forging for 24 hours list to see people at 65k MPR (whats that, two days ago they joined? It cant apply to all NUBs already?) forging more than me, =/ lol, oh well.

Flamey December 6 2007 6:54 PM EST

haha, it actually worked. All that whining. Not that I cared much but it did help with gameplay and such :)

Wasp December 6 2007 7:11 PM EST

I'm glad that change was made. Two good changes. Nice.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] December 6 2007 8:24 PM EST

Kind of sad to see a reduction in choice for new players...

TheHatchetman December 6 2007 8:41 PM EST

You mean its sad to see that 50k MPR chars won't be able to outforge those over 2m MPR in anticipation of selling out 4 months later? They will have the choice to forge when they have the MPR with which to do so... In the event i sell my larger char, or i didn buy i in the first place, would i have the choice to forge?

The NUB isnt for "choice" its to allow them to catch up with those that've been here longer. They get a shot at creating one helluva character, with which, they can become one helluva forger with later :)

Flamey December 6 2007 8:51 PM EST

Because the relation between MPR and forging rate is so high *COUGH*

TheHatchetman December 6 2007 9:29 PM EST

Good point, Flamey. But the NUB bonus to forging whiped out what little relationship there was there... Before, the relationship was 1 MPR - 4m MPR < NUB forger... Now, at least non NUB users can get a job :)

Phoenix [The Forgehood] December 6 2007 9:51 PM EST

Least I don't get affected. That's always a plus for me. :)

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] December 6 2007 10:40 PM EST

Meteor: Yeah, and you are the reason this came into play, why you still get it i don't know, but oh well... I say the forge link should be greyed out till you have a character at least 500k MPR, lol.

Thanks for the change anyways Jon!

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] December 6 2007 10:50 PM EST

It does effect you Meteor...

Your MPR is going to be devastatingly low when your NUB runs out and both forging and fighting competitively will be out of the question.

Thanks again Jon!

QBRanger December 6 2007 10:59 PM EST

But then again with the huge bonus and free BA he is currently getting, he can save enough for a nice run with a NCB.

That is, of course, if he does not sell out after the NUB is over.

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] December 6 2007 11:05 PM EST

By the time his nub is up... the cost of USD:CBD will be $3 to 1 so it would be complete nonsense to sell at that price... unless he had 200 mil to sell or so

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] December 7 2007 12:07 AM EST

Hah, that's probably true.

DreadedTiger [4x20] (-x) December 7 2007 12:15 AM EST

With these changes the economy might finally make a good turn. We need a good money sink or something to help fix the economy, though. There's too much money floating around and not enough places for it to go.

A decent shop item that costed $1m should do the trick..

QBsutekh137 December 7 2007 12:19 AM EST

All excess monies should be sent to Hubbell.

If you need help, please ChatMail me at...well, Hubbell.

Unappreciated Misnomer December 7 2007 12:36 PM EST

/bow

cash sink like more unforgeable items needed

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] December 7 2007 12:47 PM EST

Or forge-able only items to be introduced.

Phoenix [The Forgehood] December 7 2007 2:54 PM EST

>Your MPR is going to be devastatingly low when your NUB runs out and both forging and fighting competitively will be out of the question.
-Sir Leon

I have a retired 1.45 mil mpr char, in case you didn't notice.

Mwahaha! :P

Phoenix [The Forgehood] December 7 2007 2:56 PM EST

And I don't intend to sell out.

At least, not until I beat Ranger.. :)

RichardRahl{Kill Gun} December 7 2007 2:57 PM EST

i don't have NUB now obey me
i am the Master...your master....bow down to me!! i r winner you

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] December 7 2007 3:44 PM EST

I'm sorry Meteor_Hawk, but with a 1.45 mil mpr char you cant do anything but get sucked into the hole that all other chars are stuck in. By the time your nub is up Ranger will be at 3.5 mil mpr or more and you will be that much further from beating him. Not to mention it takes millions of nw to get anywhere near beating him. Your best hope is to buy a bigger char from someone that sells out... and you'll be stuck in a bidding war with many different people if that happens.
