What's your preferred drink? (in Off-topic)

colonel [penny pincher] February 18 2008 7:26 PM EST

So I'm just sitting here tonight catching up on the Forums drinking my usual, a Crown Royal and Coke, and wondering what other CBers prefer. Well, if you don't mind letting me and the world know. What do you like to drink?

Tyriel [123456789] February 18 2008 7:28 PM EST

Milk, especially chocolate. Or Pop. Sometimes fruit juice.

I'm not old enough to have alcohol. Even if I was, I still probably wouldn't have any. I'm like the anti-GB.

Flatcap [East Milwaukee Devival] February 18 2008 7:32 PM EST

Guinness. Or Costa-Rican dark roast from Anodyne if I'm having coffee

AdminQBVerifex February 18 2008 7:34 PM EST

I like Dr. Skipper, nothing beats his prescription for tooth decay!

Relic February 18 2008 7:34 PM EST

Jones Soda - Cream Soda Flavor, in the bottle.

You gotta have the one with corn syrup, not the one with pure cane flavoring.

ActionAction February 18 2008 7:35 PM EST

Juuiiice. :D

Don't Panic [TheGoodNamesAreGone] February 18 2008 7:36 PM EST

Coffee, no alcohol in it. Lots and lots of coffee. I even roast my own beans.
Alcoholic? Cherry Powerade and Vanilla Bacardi or Amaretto on the rocks with a nice cigar.

j'bob February 18 2008 7:37 PM EST

Coffee! And sometimes COFFEE.
If I have to drink water I just throw a few whole coffee beans in it.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] February 18 2008 7:38 PM EST

I can't say I have a drink as far as the boozahol goes. There are a few varieties of liquor I actually enjoy, but even that is limited.

I am however a very large Coca-Cola fan (glass bottles as a treat, but mostly cans)... it's going to be the death of me now that I've given up my more entertaining/disgusting vices...

Bull3t F4c3 February 18 2008 7:51 PM EST

hmmm...i love juice. cranberry and orange are favorites. maybe sometimes apple juice. on the alcoholic side, i like American beers, regular or lite
for hard stuff, vodka especially grey goose

InebriatedArsonist February 18 2008 8:01 PM EST

If we're talking liquor, then I prefer either Irish Coffee or Scotch and Coke.

Jake the Snayke February 18 2008 8:02 PM EST

To be honest I only drink water in the morning or while working then I drink booze. Doesn't matter. As I am exceedingly broke right now it is a 12 pack of Milwaukee's Best Ice for the night and a pint of Old Thompson whiskey.

[P]Mitt February 18 2008 8:06 PM EST

Milk. Fat-Free.

QBsutekh137 February 18 2008 8:39 PM EST

I mix it up... Bourbon, rum, or Scotch all work fine (straight or rocks for the B and S, with diet cherry coke for the run). Or, I mix it up with some mead of my own design (running dangerously low, more in the carboy, thank goodness). Then it's the beer. I feel sheepish saying it, but I always come back to Milwaukee's Best Light. Cheap, light, and like water. Great finisher.

Lord Bob February 18 2008 8:42 PM EST

I prefer Jack and Coke. Unfortunately I'm fresh out of Jack right now.

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] February 18 2008 8:48 PM EST

^

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] February 18 2008 8:55 PM EST

water is wonderful, i also have recently discovered peppermint tea, it is great.

for beers i like shiner bock

as for the harder stuff, i love a good homemade margarita, no mix here, with plenty of fresh squeezed lime juice.

red wine is pretty darned good as well.

QBRanger February 18 2008 9:11 PM EST

Non alcoholic: Diet Dr. Pepper
Alcoholic: Black Adder (Guinness and apple cider) vs Stoli/Cranberry. Depending on my mood.

Talion February 18 2008 9:14 PM EST

My homemade wine. One glass a day keeps the doctor away and my taste buds happy.

Adminedyit [Superheros] February 18 2008 9:15 PM EST

non alcoholic = water
alcoholic = 4 fingers of Jamesons in a tumbler with 3 ice cubes

InebriatedArsonist February 18 2008 9:35 PM EST

Sutekh137: I feel sheepish saying it, but I always come back to Milwaukee's Best Light. Cheap, light, and like water. Great finisher.

-You should feel sheepish about that one. Beast is for kids who don't know better. When I drink it I'm reminded of playing pong in the dank, dingy basement of my brother's fraternity. At least drink Beast Ice, more bang for your buck.

Xenko February 18 2008 9:42 PM EST

Bacardi Gold Rum and Coke for me, although a Crown and Coke is also good too.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] February 18 2008 9:45 PM EST

Chocolatinis.

deifeln February 18 2008 9:46 PM EST

Not my fav, but quites good:

Black Label and Cream Soda

Lochnivar February 18 2008 10:03 PM EST

QBBast, 9:45 PM EST

Chocolatinis.

For any of you who ever doubted Bast was a chick.... le voila, proof.

Maelstrom February 18 2008 10:11 PM EST

Laphroaig for single malt, J&B for blended. Sometimes neat, sometimes on the rocks, depending on my mood.

Neat brandy is also very good, but I haven't found a favourite brand yet.

I've been trying to stock a personal bar, and have tried various cocktails, but nothing's as good as plain 'ole Scotch.

I discovered Scrumpy Jack cider over in London, which is very good, but I don't think I can get it here. For beer, the local Pumphouse makes excellent microbrews. The big name beers are horrible.

For non-alcoholic: coffee in the morning, grapefruit juice, herbal, green and black teas, and water. Can't stand pop.

GummyBear February 18 2008 10:11 PM EST

Vodka and some sort of juice

Picasso February 18 2008 10:13 PM EST

JW Gold Label on the rocks, Jager Bombs, or Miller Lite. God bless college!

Thraklight Resonance February 18 2008 10:36 PM EST

Be specific, Bast. Is it the Lady Godiva chocolate martini, the chocolate orange martini, the white blizzard martini, the mint patty martini, the funky monkey chocolate banana martini, or the out in the milky way martini?

j'bob February 18 2008 10:40 PM EST

For any of you who had any doubt that thrak was an alcoholic (or) bartender,
PROOF (lol, proof, drink thread, he he he)

j/k thrak, i was just amazed at your list.

Desperado [Chaotic Serenity] February 18 2008 10:45 PM EST

Recently I've been drinking a lot of Pineapple Peach Mango Dole Juice.
I like Nesquick.choc/strawberry milk too. BK Mocha too lol.

QBsutekh137 February 18 2008 10:57 PM EST

IA, I drink the Light for that reason -- fewer calories. The Ice sort of defeats that purpose.

If I wanted "bang", I'd stick with the Kentucky Tavern for the duration, wouldn't I? *smile*

RVT February 18 2008 11:24 PM EST

Alcohol: Tequila, Hornitos or Patron (but not a heavy drinker)
Juice: Pineapple or Coconut(fresh)
Soda: Squirt
Water: Fiji

Ernest-Scribbler February 18 2008 11:36 PM EST

Everytime i ask myself, Rum or Beer?
In most places its beer as cheap rum is pretty nasty, and bacardi is cheap. Sailor Jerry with coke and fresh lime squeezed in is hard to beat.
If its beer then smithwicks if they have it or for something easier to get, sam adams is always a good idea:D

AdminLamuness February 18 2008 11:51 PM EST

Cosmopolitan.

AdminNightStrike February 18 2008 11:56 PM EST

Water.

SimplyNic February 18 2008 11:57 PM EST

Water for the most part. Sometimes Pepsi. I stay away from alcohol xD. It mixes not good with my meds

8DEOTWP February 19 2008 12:27 AM EST

Hoegaarden regular, not Cru.
Cranberry juice 8)

QBOddBird February 19 2008 12:49 AM EST

Mountain Dew Code Red!!

QBJohnnywas February 19 2008 3:37 AM EST

Jim Beam and Brandy does it for me. That's one drink by the way, equal measures of both, with a bit of ice. Surprisingly smooth.

Otherwise, lager, cider, whiskey, rum, tequila, vodka all get a look in.

Mango juice for non-alcholic. And tea. Lots of tea.

mollevitteN February 19 2008 4:02 AM EST

well, my non-alcoholic drink is Coke! Can't live without it.. Altough I also enjoy a cold glass of water from time to time =)

For alcoholic drinks I prefer White Russians or a cold beer

Brakke Bres [Ow man] February 19 2008 4:55 AM EST

The cold one is the one for me, because the cold one is a one, I take two ones or even three ones, after the ones I like the bacardi cola to finish me off.

And any kind of cocktail is good :)

TheHatchetman February 19 2008 6:21 AM EST

Liquor: Jose Cuervo Black Medallion
Beer: La Cervesa Masa Fina
non-alc: Dr. Pepper

Wasp February 19 2008 6:23 AM EST

Used to be a good old Jack Daniels and coke. Then it was a good old Magners Irish Cider. Now its Vodka and Lemonade : )

Daz February 19 2008 9:31 AM EST

I drink Coffee (Lots) and water (Also Lots). Juice to a lesser extent.

For Alcohol, I like Port, (Nearly) any Spirits (Straight up, with no ice) and Sake. And Sweet wines. I'm starting to like reds, though.

AdminG Beee February 19 2008 3:28 PM EST

I've never really had a "preferred" drink. I've always been more of a "volume" kinda guy...

Beer Barrel

bartjan February 19 2008 3:43 PM EST

My brother just accepted a job at a leading manufacturer and importer of spirits. Give me a few weeks to find out what's my favorite drink is ;)

His previous job was with an importer of special beers. My favorites so far are Liefmans Goudenband and Maredsous 6.

QBsutekh137 February 19 2008 4:15 PM EST

Man, talk about diametric opposites to Milwaukee's Best Light! That's some fancy stuff, bart!

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] February 19 2008 7:23 PM EST

Non alcoholic: Diet Pepsi / Orange coloured Oasis
Alcoholic: Most real Ales / Staropramen

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] February 19 2008 7:25 PM EST

Oh I must mention;

King Cobra

The worldメs first double fermented lager, King Cobra is presented in a champagne-style bottle and available in 750 ml and 375 ml sizes

One bottle of this gets me plastered. ;)

Definetly one to experience. ;)
