(effect) (trained)

HP 70,000

ST 68,414 30,000

DX 75,353 50,000

My equipment is a ToA and an ELB

What should I purchase next after I pay off my ELB?

What is the exp split into HP, STR, and DX?

three4thsforsaken March 9 2008 7:08 PM EDT

after ELB probably best to get a pair of Beleg's Gloves

[RX3]Cotillion March 9 2008 7:09 PM EDT

EB's are important too. Maybe an AoF as well?

[RX3]Cotillion March 9 2008 7:12 PM EDT

Oh, and supportership as well. Actually you should get supportership before anything. Makes fighting a lot easier.

AoFs aren't worth it, get an AoM after BGs and EBs.

What I would look for from most important to less important:

A Helm of Clearsight
A Pair of Displacement Boots
A Pair of Beleg's Gloves
A Mithril Shield
An Amulet of Might

As for XP distribution, I like the way you currently have everything setup. Keep every effective stat at about the same level and you will be fine.

Just remember that you will eventually need to train Archery with an effect of 1.0 if you want to keep hitting your targets. I would start now if I were you. Eventually, when you reach 250K MPR, you might also want to train a small amount of Protection.

I prefer EBs over DBs for a few reasons:

1) The dex advantage: Lets you hit evasion that much easier, if you can hit it at all.

2) The archery xp boost. Dex items give bonuses to skills. So less xp needed for archery=more xp for hp or str.

3) Gives AC as opposed to DBs which give none. You can get about 40AC for about 6M NW of EBs. That is about 8% less damage. May help in some battles.

For me EBs > DBs for the reasons Ranger mentioned.

As your ToA grows and you invest XP into ST you'll appreciate any boost your Archery skill gets. I really grudge training XP into Archery but it's a must to keep it at max benefit so use all the help you can get.

As for the spread, I would be inclined to keep it even for a while yet. Eventually you'll want to start putting a little bit more into HP as you find you can hit your targets but not survive long enough yourself to win the battles - that's when that little bit extra AC from the EBs will help too ;)

I wish I had trained less ST/DX on my ToA archer and given HP a little more love.

A note about EB vs. DB that I wish to emphasize here...

The extra AC they grant will definitely help against magic damage and the boost to Archery will allow you to invest more XP into HP. However, no mater how much DX you train, weapons over +150 will score double hits on you more than 50% of the time. Even tanks with 0 DX will score double hits on you very often.

With DB, you are more vulnerable against magic damage because you have less AC, but they are a lot better against tanks for damage reduction because even moderately priced DB will limit other tanks to single hits or no hits at all against you.

So it's a question of preference in my opinion.

three4thsforsaken March 9 2008 9:25 PM EDT

yes, without DBs, YOU WILL GET HIT. Just be able to accept that and emphasis survivability with a little AC and more HP. You don't need to survive long. You just need to survive longer than the other damage dealer.

Also note if you do go DBs. They are very expensive, and a pain to upgrade. It'll take quite a bit of resources to get them big. Though I guess you only need small DBs to get rid of double hits.

Personally because of the money factor, I'll recommend EBs.

Not true, if you have a high enough evasion and dex and EBs that compound that evasion, the attacking minion won't be able to hit you.

See the solo RoBF users.

Mitt, we are typing about an archer who cannot use evasion.

Other more ..... abusive strategies using evasion is another story and most people already know EB>>>>>>DB in those cases.
