NUB forging question... (in General)

OK so lets say for arguments sake my NUB bonust is 500%. If my MPR is 1 mil does that mean i forge as if my MPR is 5 mil?

There is no longer a bonus to forging, 1 mil MPR means 1 mil MPR for forging.

oh ok cuz when i click forge it says:

New user bonus: 528.554186184%

I didnt know they cancelled it.

when did you ever know such a thing as an NUB bonus to forging ever existed, MarkyG? hmmmm, MULTIple red lights are flashing all over, please clarify....

on further research, the NUB bonus to forging ended in the December changemonth; while you joined in January 2008 as a NEW user!!! This gets even more mysterious, please DO clarify. Though this is not an inquisition, things do get mighty complicated with NUB/ NCB differentials esp when it comes to the money bonus.

There were NUB forging posts up all over the place until early March when the last NUB forger bonuses ran out. He could easily have seen those, while not having seen the end of NUB forging post posted back in December.

I'm sure he would've seen all the ignorant posts: "Can't you wait it out a little over a month?"

Jeez can you people leave him alone? He's only asking what the bonus is since if you bothered to read his post apparently it still displays the bonus percentage.

MarkyG, the bonus to NUB forging was already canceled back in December, so currently it does nothing; the bonus number should be removed from the display.

actually, the bonus in the forge display (unless something has changed int he past year and 2 months) will tell you your exact bonus to like6 or 8 decimal places :P

As far as knowing about the NUB and forging, there were a lot of other threads that got a good deal of press. 3/4th's forging threads, Nemerizt's forging threads, N0sebleed's forging threads, and then, of course, they were all wondering what they try to accomplish once their bonus was gone...

It is a very real possibility for people to know about things that happened to the game before their time... Hell, I know a large portion of CB2 history that happened before I got here... Granted, I learned many of these things by word of mouth, and picked up a lot of other crap from reading older forums (this was mostly the argumentative ones that were still worth being remembered enough for someone to say something of them in chat... So, by the reasoning of "someone knows something that happened before they got here must be a multi", I must be a multi, no?

Without some proof, please accuse him the same way you would accuse me ;)

I'm not accusing him, HM, I'm merely curious as to how he said, "I didnt know they cancelled it." That's what got all the red lights flashing in the first place. And, I believe this doubt does indeed deserve an explanation, that's all.

Sorry, but if I saw at least two of these, and didn't see this thread (because it was before my time or some such reason), I would be forced to assume NUBs had a forging bonus... Sure, there were CB whinefests about NUB forging, but A) some people make a note of avoiding those, and B) For the most part, 3/4, N0se, and Nemer got all the whining, so "can't ya just wait a month" would easily be misconstrued as "wait until their supermassive rediculous bonuses are gone, then you only have to compete with other vet forgers and/or not-so-superboosted NUBs... So if everyone's done having fun playing the "powerless admin" Role-playing game, can we get back to CB? :P

It was probably just a misinterpretation since the bonus is still written down.

And to answer your question, Marky, no that wouldn't be the case. I read somewhere that it takes 4 times your MPR to double your forging efficiency. So at 1million MPR you'll be forging at the rate of a 20 million MPR character with your bonus.

and THAT my friend, is why the forging bonus is broken :P

To answer your question Chuck, maybe you should read the post directly above his that he was replying to.

The phrase "I didnt know they canceled it." was clearly a response to Smallpau saying "There is no longer a bonus to forging, 1 mil MPR means 1 mil MPR for forging". People need to read before they jump to conclusions.

Looking at the thread, only 1 person actually made an accusation, everyone else came to MarkyG's defense. I don't really think that constitutes a witch hunt, maybe just a bit of overzealousness.

Could an admin please lock this thread to new posts. I don't think there is anything else that needs to be said on the matter.
