Honestly I think something was changed, without archery edy and Ranger were both always hitting me in round 1. Ranger is now not hitting me. If Jon turned the total evasion stat back off and it starts again my head is going to explode.
This bug has existed since the moment the 6 round ranged came into play, it has never failed to exist for me until now.

However,
In my latest attempts, with a +160 MsB and using a HOC, without archery, I missed all 6 rounds.
The one screen capture with me hitting the first round x2 then missing was without archery also.

I did fix the JKF and junctioned minions not getting his evasion bonus in the first couple rounds of ranged while I was examining the code, but you were just talking about straight DB-on-minion right?

He was typing about Junctioned DBs not working in the first round of missile.
If the attacker is using a HoC.
For what it's worth, adding a CG onto my UC minion bumps evasion from 108 to 109. I would highly doubt that that is accurate.
Ah.
Sorry novice, you've got to spell things out for me when it's a week as busy as this one. Sending me screenshots and hoping I draw the correct conclusions is risky business. :)
> I would highly doubt that that is accurate.
Doesn't sound unreasonable to me.
It's supposed to double the amount of evasion you are getting. Adding 1 point to evasion isn't doing anything that will affect battle outcome.
I understand Jon... I just blew my mind on this one.
At this point the bug is gone... so nothing you can do.
For reference it's the same as the bug mentioned in q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=002Mu0
> It's supposed to double the amount of evasion you are getting.
no, it's not.
it's supposed to add 15 to the "evasion" you get _from your UC skill_. if you have a large DB then this won't amount to much the way evasion + db stacks.
1) Then the wiki is wrong, as it claims that it adds another 1/3 of your UC skill as evasion, not a flat 15.
2) I don't use DB's. I use EB's to boost the UC skill.

So I fixed your bug without realizing it. Drinks all around. :)
that is, I knew I was fixing a junction + evasion bug, just not that that's what you were CMing me about.

So if your over your encumbrance, will it lower the minus to the PTH your getting JUST from DBs?
Not the evasion skill itself but if you only use DBs?
/me kicks NS...
I'm busy confusing Jon... you confuse him in some other thread...
> Then the wiki is wrong, as it claims that it adds another 1/3 of your UC skill as evasion, not a flat 15.
I didn't write the wiki and I don't often proofread it. You should know that.
> 2) I don't use DB's. I use EB's to boost the UC skill.
Interesting... you're right, there's a bug here.
The simplest fix may be to make the gi work the way the wiki said. I'll think about it for a bit first though. :)
that's actually the way the docs have read since the day I joined...
only item that added 15 was the original dbs
> So if your over your encumbrance, will it lower the minus to the PTH your getting JUST from DBs?
no, it lowers the total evasion effect [which should be being nicely displayed in post-battle stats already]
"I didn't write the wiki and I don't often proofread it. You should know that."
I know, just wanted to clarify that that was never the original intent. Usually stuff in the wiki like that comes from changelog posts.
I eagerly await the upcoming change, although I think the point may be moot soon. It's hard to find a way to use UC without a TOA, which would prevent using the CG anyway. I thought I could do it, which is why I've been holding off (hence sticking with the ROE), but it's just not working out.
I made the gi add 50% of the UC evasion.

Nice boost.
BTW,
The AOI does not show any evasion in the post battle stats if it is the only evasion item being worn.
Also, I had no idea DB's gave an evasion type effect. Just thought it was direct minus to their PTH. Is my assumption correct?

When I say evasion, I mean "the combined DB and evasion minus to PTH." the number displayed post-combat is the value for melee. because of how they stack these are treated internally as a single number.
AoI does not stack that way so it is not part of the evasion post-battle-stat number.

Jon,
Thanks for the clarification.
Overall, excellent changes this month!!
"AoI does not stack that way so it is not part of the evasion post-battle-stat number."
