Show DD in post-battle stats? (in General)

QBsutekh137 June 12 2008 1:57 PM EDT

Any chance we could see DD level in post-battle stats?

I know I am just a pain in the butt, but with leadership, AoF, and Junction (now with Spell Boosters in addition to the AGs) all in play now, it would be neat to know how big the DD on the familiar is reporting... With the new way post-battle displays (attributes down the left side), it wouldn't be that hard to add, yes?

I promise I'll name all my spell boosters (hope to eventually have three) if it happens! *smile*

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 12 2008 2:11 PM EDT

I'll second this.

But it does strike me as a bit of a lazy change kinda thing... not so hard to calculate DD level.

QBsutekh137 June 12 2008 2:18 PM EDT

No, as long as all the augmentations are working. *smile* What if there is a Junction bug or a bug in AoL? Easier to see at the end of the battle when you can see who is standing and know what CB was using as a DD level...

You can calculate final dexterity too, it's just a dynamic pain to do so with all of the equipment rules in play, hence the post-battle stat (maybe that's just my thinking on it...)

QBRanger June 12 2008 4:21 PM EDT

I agree with the AoF and junction thing.

But to do so with the AoL and new boots would not be feasible given that things can change during the battle.

At least that is what I was told when I asked for the AoL benefit for tanks to be seen in their strength. So one can adequately calculate skills.

QBsutekh137 June 12 2008 4:42 PM EDT

Strength and Dexterity also changes as the battle progresses (due to specialty xbows). Post-battle stats display those attributes (accurately, I assume), so displaying the level of DD at the end of the battle should be similar, no?

And while I realize it is a useless thing to show for non-mage minions, there is already precedent for showing non-applicable numbers, e.g. ammo count (for non-tanks) and Evasion (for non-Evasion users).

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 12 2008 4:58 PM EDT

at the very least this would make testing for BoF adding DD with and without AoL possible

QBsutekh137 June 12 2008 9:35 PM EDT

Don't get me wrong, I am not meaning it to sound like there are bugs, I really am just lazy... Let's make that clear right up front. *smile* It would just be gravy.

Whether my lead minion, with an AOL, is alive at the end of the battle or not, my DD spell stays the same. Is this normal or not?

AdminJonathan June 13 2008 6:56 AM EDT

yes, leadership doesn't increase the lvl, just dmg

Talion June 13 2008 7:24 AM EDT

I absolutely love this!!!!!!! Thanks Jon.

QBsutekh137 June 13 2008 9:48 AM EDT

Jonathan you are a wonderful man! Thank you!

Now, what you knew would probably happen, I just need math help (I'm probably just doing something backwards...)

Here is my SF: 5,743,304.

I have the following augmentations which should show in post battle stats:

AoF (Junctioned at 1.00), +10, so that's 30%
AGs, junctioned as well, +15, so that's another 15%
Sbs, again, junctioned, straight 3%

Add all that up, and it should be a 48% augmentation.

5743304 x 1.48 = 8,500,090

Post-battle stats show my SF level as 8,735, 565...

Taking what shows minus my SF level doesn't even work out to be an even percentage of the base level...about 52.1% I appear to be getting an extra 4% or so from somewhere, and since the AoL does not show there (it would be more than 4% anyway), I am just mainly wondering about my math...?

NEVER MIND! Named items and named tattoo probably account for the rest... In other words, consider this a sample exercise showing how awesome and perfect Jonathan is. *smile* And Huzzah for a SF almost hitting 9 million!!!!! How big are some other ones out there (several tattoos are bigger than mine...)

QBRanger June 13 2008 10:30 AM EDT

I guess if you want to find out how it is with the AoL/new boots, you can fight someone/win, with your first minion still alive.

QBsutekh137 June 13 2008 11:07 AM EDT

Sounds like AoL increase does not show, Ranger. And my figures confirm that. My front minion was still alive, but the AoL increase did not show. Jonathan mentions above that the AoL augmentation is just to the final damage output, not the level (because it is easier and more dynamic, maybe?)...

I guess that means the AoL does not help DD level grow against AMF...that's good to know. Makes sense, too, otherwise Jonathan would have to recalculate AMF ratio every round. I suppose as a mage I would rather have the latter, but I won't complain.

I suppose that also means that the AoL just increases physical damage, not an actual increase to STR. That makes even more sense, seeing as how physical damage depends on weapon and STR, it would be hard to apply leadership to both of those, much easier to apply it to the final damage going out...

AdminJonathan June 13 2008 3:20 PM EDT

sutekh, if you can narrow it down to which item is causing the discrepancy, i'm happy to take a look.

Draugluin June 13 2008 3:23 PM EDT

How does AoL work with stat drainers? Does it add the percentage to the ST remaining? Or the original?

Little Anthony June 13 2008 5:48 PM EDT

It would be nice to show the actual DD level "AFTER" the AMF ?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] June 13 2008 5:50 PM EDT

/me thinks that's a step too far down lazy lane...

QBsutekh137 June 13 2008 5:50 PM EDT

LA, AMF doesn't really reduce your DD level, per se, though I guess if EC can show STR and DEX drain, AMF could show a theoretical DD-drain...

Jonathan, sorry I even posted, at the end I figure it out -- named items. I think the system is working perfectly, and I love the stat display!

Little Anthony June 13 2008 5:54 PM EDT

what does (0.28) really means as AMF do to my DD? Sorry i just doesn't grasp the technical math of it yet.

QBsutekh137 June 13 2008 5:56 PM EDT

I don't either, ask GL. *grin* Or read the Wiki. Ir all works out as far as how much your DD damage is reduced, and how big the backlash is, up to some sort of factor of 40% or something. Details make me sleepy. *smile*

QBsutekh137 June 13 2008 5:59 PM EDT

All three pair of SBs have been named, plus a Corn to even it out. Money well spent! Thanks again, Jonathan!
