Confused about the SoC (in General)

QBRanger July 1 2008 5:09 PM EDT

When it works, I get 2 messages;

ie:

Failure's shield flashes! [1,272,707]
Failure fractured Cloudscape [2864456]
Failure normally hits Cloudscape for 500k or so damage.

So why the 2 messages and what are they?

Help!

- Failure's shield flashes! [1,272,707]
As I understand it, it means that the shield absorbs damage. But I just started to play around with it.

- Failure fractured C [2864456]
Thats BL + SoC.

But it doesn't really matter, you still beat me with your left finger.

So the first number is not damage actually done to the oppoonent?

Shadowsparkle [Jago] July 1 2008 5:27 PM EDT

You got it.

BL is twice as effective the first round right?

QBRanger July 1 2008 5:34 PM EDT

First hit. Whenever that hit occurs.

the flash is how much damage the shield had "stored" that got applied to your hit, pre-bonuses.

the "fractured" is the post-bonus total. i'm guessing this is BL-buffed.

so does the SOC damage give HP with an MH?

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] July 1 2008 8:59 PM EDT

Does the SoC reduce physical damage for mages too?

QBRanger July 1 2008 9:08 PM EDT

"so does the SOC damage give HP with an MH?"

When I played with it, yes you leech HP as you would in any hit.

And it can be used by any minion without penalty but only to stop physical damage. It does not effect RBF or magical damage.

How do you know how much damage the SoC actually absorbs?
