Can we clean up the Black Market a bit? (in General)

IE:

Getting rid of items that spawn in stores:

Steel Brig
Heavy Crossbow
Compound Bow

Brakke Bres [Ow man] February 17 2009 9:51 AM EST

lesser tats

Brakke Bres [Ow man] February 17 2009 9:52 AM EST

ow and the katana and elven stiletto.

AdminShade February 17 2009 10:36 AM EST

Amen to both!

QBRanger February 17 2009 11:19 AM EST

Well I thought about lesser tattoos, katana and elven stiletto.

However, they do not spawn in stores.

Let us at least get rid of the 3 above as a start.

Rawr February 17 2009 11:22 AM EST

and maybe make the weapons that require 173 votes require less? We barely make enough votes for half that many

Phaete February 17 2009 11:37 AM EST

And what is up with a lesser familiar requiring same amount as votes as his not lesser big brother?

Electric Familiar - 48
Lesser Electric Familiar - 48

Admindudemus [jabberwocky] February 17 2009 11:38 AM EST

or allow votes to last a week longer?

Sickone February 17 2009 4:13 PM EST

Or just reduce votes needed radically ? :)

Goodfish February 17 2009 5:40 PM EST

Maybe make the votes required for an item to spawn dynamic, based on the number of active users in the past, say, two weeks?

deifeln February 17 2009 10:08 PM EST

Increase votes needed x5.
Votes stay forever.

This would be an awesome system. Much more buy in for everybody. Don't like what the BMVG is pursuing this week? Vote for what you want, likely after a 'critical' percentage is reached, more folks would vote for that item.

QBOddBird February 17 2009 10:09 PM EST

Finally, I could get those Steel Brigs without anyone else's help!

BadFish February 17 2009 11:36 PM EST

deifeln's idea is what I always imagined the black market should be like. I often just don't use my vote for weeks at a time because I really don't give a rip about whatever item is being voted for, and there's absolutely no reason to vote for an item that isn't being supported by a lot of other votes. With deifeln's proposal the black market items would take a long time to spawn, but I think it's a much better system.

el bumpo

"Increase votes needed x5.
Votes stay forever."

I've been advocating this for quite some time.

BadFish February 21 2009 3:45 PM EST

Bump. Forum volume powers, activate!

AdminTal Destra February 21 2009 3:52 PM EST

here's the downside:
you want the votes to stay forever correct?
does that imply they do not disappear once the item is spawned?
that's what it sounds like to me.

set it up so there is a system for active vets(played more than say 3 months to be a blackmarket vet)in the last week(averaged)to be counted. then use those numbers for number of votes twice over on regular items and 3 times over for high priced items.

opinions?

BadFish February 21 2009 3:54 PM EST

I don't believe the idea was that votes would remain once the item was spawned. Of course they would reset back to 0 once an item was spawned.

deifeln February 21 2009 5:12 PM EST

obviously they would reset to zero once the item spawned.

QBOddBird February 21 2009 5:23 PM EST

Votes remaining forever after the item spawned? What would be the point of that?

Unless you meant votes on OTHER items remaining while the item you vote on spawns. That would be necessary.

Either way, the topic is moot unless Jon likes it, and while you lot argue over theoretical changes I've helped spawn 2 Steel Brigs! W00t!
