Strat Advice Question (in General)

Soxjr March 18 2009 11:48 AM EDT

I am currently looking to change my strat. As most people know I don't own the mageseeker I am using so am switching strats. I currently only have the gear on my character. I don't have an AoJ yet so as of right now that is not an option. I currently have 141 million exp if I untrain everything on my char. I can and will change my tattoo to anything. It is a 5.5 mil lvl tat. Please any and all strats that people think a one minion char would work. Again I only have the equipment on my char and no money. I have 2 mil but it is a loan from someone that I am sending back. So lets hear it ... Have fun. I might be willing to try most anything. :)

some sort of juntion deal for sure, usings all your gear.

Ok. but as of right now. I don't have one and nobody is selling. I can keep renting the bow I have now for as long as Ranger doesn't need it, but I want to find something that will work for me. If it doesn't use my equipment and I sell it or buy other that is fine, but right now I need to find something that works and maybe doesn't use junction since I don't have the AoJ.

single minion robf was still pretty good when i had igot going that route. it doesn't require junction at least.

for cookie cutter strats just go familiar and a huge chuck of AS and probably DM(better then AMF in my books)

if you want something funky try this =x

variant 1
single minion
HP(max) BL(base) AMF(small) VA(enough) (with or without VA)

equipment
Corn TSA SBs SOC
MH(base x with as many + as you want)

variant 2
single minion
HP(max) BL(base) AMF(small) VA(enough) (with or without VA)

equipment
Corn ROBF or Familiar SBs SOC
MH(base x with as many + as you want)

varient 3
single minion
HP(max) BL(base) AMF(small) VA(base)

equipment
Corn ROS SBs SOC
MH(base x with as many + as you want)

these are pure tank killers =x pretty cheap to make too

or you can try

variant 1
HP
ROBF + MGS + wall armor

variant 2
cookie cutter
HP + AMF
ROBF + CORN + SOC + SB + whatever

Yeah, I like JS's strat, although he has a MSK to help with mages.

A few ideas to play around with.

If you ever do get around to getting an AoJ, Hal with AoJ makes a lean mean, anti tank machine. With just 2-3 million level of evasion you can block out most tanks and shut down ranged (multipliers are beast).

RoBF is still a very powerful option right now. There are a few things you can do:

1. Huge SG or even Decay mage with an RoBF. Depends on how much you want to invest. People don't put AoIs in front as much anymore because of SG so your SG/Decay will hit the same minion as your RoBF. Good times.

2. Mikel variation. Mikel's strategy is basically a single minion strat. Train tons of AMF, mediocre GA and tons of HP and you're set. Note that you won't work as great since you don't have a huge MPR advantage, it's still not bad though.

I have a few more strats in my head, I'll post them later. But you have to be very careful when you go into melee. If you go into melee you can't wear a MgS since the lack of AMF will make you WAY too vulnerable to decay. In general, single minions need AMF, except of you go for the ranged kill.

However,

One reason Mikel's strategy works so well is his massive +310ish DBs.

Without them, he would be tank toast.

Those DBs do help. But a little GA still goes a long way against tanks with not enough armor or VA or whatever. In multi-minion teams it is unlikely they have enough HP to back up their own hits. But still possible.
